What is a polite way to say no to house guests?
Just say no. My husband and I use to live in Winter Park, Florida for a number of years and Disney World was 45 minutes away. We were constantly getting company that wanted to stay with us for free and go to Disney. Of course this meant they came with kids. We had four kids so 6 of us in the house to start with and then company. I got tired of it real fast. While everyone was on vacation having a wonderful time, I was working a full time job everyday, cooking and cleaning for company and then just putting up with company in my house when I just wanted to be left alone. So, I just started telling people that it was just to much for me to try and cope with and they would have to find other arrangements but we would love to see them and visit while they are in the area. We lost no friends doing this. They would always call us when they came to town and we would meet them for a dinner or two while they were in our area. You do have the right to say no.
