What Is Better A Gas Scooter Or Electric Scooter

What would be better to get a Gas or Electric scooter?

I am looking to invest in one for my apartment up at college. I need it to be able to make it up hills and go over 20+mph. Which one do you think would be a better purchase?

Which is better 150cc gas scooter or 2500 watt electric scooter?

Not really sure on the pricing. I would definitely go with the gas scooter. Probably a honda. Very reliable and gas stations are a lot easier to find than a place to sit the rest of the day while your scooter recharges. Also in a colder climate the electric scooter will not hold a charge as long as in hot weather.

Should I get a electric scooter or gas scooter?

Depends on your priorities. Is air pollution or climate change a serious concern for you? How about noise? Maximum range? Coolness? Make a table. Assign weights and priorities. Write down the pros and cons.

Regarding pollution I would suggest that a gas scooter will pollute locally, but an electric scooter pollutes at a distance. If your electric power is generated by burning coal, then every time you charge up the batteries, you are adding more coal to the fire. Note also that about half the electricity is lost in transmission, so you burn more coal than expected.

Is an electric scooter better than a petrol scooter or not?

An electric scooter(new faster scooters) is far better than an petrol one. Why?Purchase price, looks like both are almost the same price to buy around 70k.Fuel cost, E scooter can run at 10–20 paise per km whereas petrol one run at 1.5 rs/km. So E scooter is 7–15 times cheaper to run. Which means I can commute to my office in 4–8 rs for a total distance of 40kms.Maintenance cost, no more air filters, fuel filter engine oils….just keep using with very minimal health checks every one year. Additionally the brake pad maintenance is very less in e- scooters thanks to regenerative braking.I am planning to buy ather energy S340 scooter when it's launched, I am seeing lot of potential and tech mindset of the company just like Tesla. I really want to zoom like a boss next to those high end bikes at the traffic signals as the S340 gives 0–40kmph in 5.1 secs.

What are the differences between an electric scooter and a gas scooter?

With regards to chassis/frame design, wheel size etc. there’s little difference in the models I’ve seen. The only real difference is in the drive unit which for a gas powered scooter is a small combustion engine (similar to a petrol engine) and the electric models have a battery and small motor with a belt drive. Electric models seem much more common where I am as refuelling gas cylinders (LPG or propane) is more difficult than simply recharging a battery.

Which is better, an electric scooter or a gear cycle for students?

It depends on individual choice. On any day a cycle is better from an health perspective. At times if the journey is bit longer and terrain is not even and has up and downs and you have the habit of sweating a lot then think of electric scooter. The entry level models are meant for students and housewives. Go for it if the total distance that you need to travel in not more than 30 - 40 KM's.An overnight charging will help in covering the distance and if the maximum speed achieved by the model is not more than 25Kms/Hr then registration and License are NOT required.Ensure you maintain the battery well and have a very good charger that has over charge cut-off.

Electric Scooter Vs Fuel Scooter?

Perhaps I am old fashion and unwilling to see the change in the scooter market, but I still believe that the gas powered scooters are the betters scooters. So I'll just take a few simple points-range and top speed of the Vectrix vs. the Honda Reflex.

Range.
This is the main problem I have with the electric driven scooters. My commute is an 80 mile round trip daily which is 12 miles more then the Vectrix's advertised 68 mile range. Of course, it is true that I could just plug the bike in once I arrive at work, but all batteries have a memory so they won't last long.

The Honda Reflex has a range of 200-217 miles depending on riding style. The Reflex's performance will not be diminished with a fuel refill.

Top Speed.
The Vectrix has an advertised top speed of 62mph. 62mph is a little slow for the freeway, and I routinely travel on the freeway.

I have had my Reflex up to an "indicated" 90mph(some say 10% error). I admit that I was pushing my luck and the Reflex past the red line. No one really needs to get a scooter like the Reflex or Vectrix above the posted speed limit, but it is nice to know that you can reach the posted speed limit.

As you may have guessed I have a Honda Reflex and ride regularly, but I do not have a Vectrix. I base the perfomance of the Vectrix on their information supplied on their web site.

I will admit that the Vectrix has good styling and is the only electric scooter that I would consider buying. However, the Vectrix is not a long range commuter vehicle like the Reflex, but if I worked in the town where I live, the Vectrix would be the perfect around town vehicle.

One final note...the folks at Vectrix have a "comparisons" link. They claim that the comparison is between the Vectrix and the 250-400cc class of scooters. From the information they have provided, my Reflex blows them away. Perhaps the comparison should have been between the Vectrix and the 80-150cc class of scooter. Then they would have the upper hand.

Which is better? Only you can figure out what is best for you.
