Is a bridal shower supposed to be a surprise?
I (MOH) was told by the bride that it's supposed to be a surprise, but I thought she is supposed to know so she can be prepared for it. Also, what is a bridal shower theme? Does this mean the colors of the wedding? I'm so lost! Thanks for any advice!

I have some ideas, but in reading the question, I think it's downright horrible to combine a bridal shower with a Pampered Chef party. Why does this strike you as a good idea? The guests are already required to bring a gift, and now on top of that they're going to be subjected to pressure to buy expensive kitchen items? Who benefits from the Pampered Chef thing? Yuk. There's lots you can do with a Paris theme, especially with inexpensive posters on the walls, French appetizers or brunch, etc. But the rest of the plans are tres gauche. EDIT: The bride wants this because her mother works there?!?! Seriously, I'm trying to do you a favor here. Talk to your own mom or some sane adult whose opinion you value. Again, remember guests are already bringing gifts. Exposing them to a marketing party that benefits the bride's mom...there are no words for this.
