If you're looking for something that is both Co-Op and Offline, there are a few options. Call of Duty - World at War has the option for split-screen throughout the campaign. There are also the Nazi-Zombie mini game modes which support split-screen co-op and are lots of fun if you enjoy horde/wave style games. Borderlands is a great co-op shooter both online and off, and supports 2 player split-screen offline, up to four players co-op over Xbox Live. This isn't a military shooter but a rpg/shooter. Still players like a smooth FPS, but adds customization elements similar to RPG style games, adding skill trees for four different character types. There are several (3) expansions for this game available to add to the story missions. The core game (without expansions) takes a good 12-14 hours of play to get through the main story line if you complete some of the side-missions as well. Army of Two, The 40th Day (second in the series) is a good third-person co-op splitscreen shooter as well. There is fairly linear story line, however you'll be given moral choices throughout the game where you and your partner will need to chose the fate of civilians and bad-guys - unlocking different outcomes based on your decisions. This game heavily encourages co-op play to stay alive, as well as a detailed weapon unlock and customization system. If you're looking for a very inexpensive, fun, somewhat silly shooter, check out Earth Defense Force 2017. This is an import game, first person shooter, where you face off against huge ants, spiders and other monsters and spaceships in fully destructable cities. There is very little plot, story, or flashiness but for about $12 you can have a mindless, fun run and gun game full of campiness and a large number of unlockable weapons that range from very cool to very silly. Others to consider (which support split screen, offline co-op play through the campaign) are, "Gears of War 2" and my personal favorite, "Lost Planet 2".
Good Xbox 360 multiplayer offline COOP games?
Halo Anniversary, Halo 4, Halo 3, Portal and Portal 2, Minecraft. I just named the ones I know. These have great coop (2 player splitscreen offline) The first three are first person shooters and portal is a puzzle game and I don't know how to label minecraft. Happy Gaming!

Well I'd say Halo 2, because personally I hate Halo 3, but since Halo 2 isn't a 360 game then I guess you'd have to go with Halo 3... Guitar Hero World Tour's a good one if you're into that sort of thing, and Skate 2 if you like that too.. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is pretty good too, hope I helped :)
What are some good Xbox 360 OFFLINE campaign co-op games?
I know about the left 4 dead games, hunted:demon forge, Borderlands, Halo, Gears of War, and resident evil 5 (which was an excellent example of the offline co-op gameplay that I enjoy). Im NOT looking for missions that you play with a friend or VS modes, im wanting offline co-op campaigns where you play the storyline as a team, whether it be split screen or both playing on 1 screen. I prefer rpg games, but almost any good games will do. They don't make many offline co-op games like they use too, which is really disappointing. Im about to buy Dungeon Siege III and see what that is like. I've looked up sites that show co-op games, but id like actual opinions on games that other people enjoy playing locally with their friends and why they are fun. Also, I was curious about whether the co-op in Army of Two was any good. I've heard some bad comments, but just as many postive comments on the game.
What are some good offline multiplayer games for the XBOX 360?
One of my personal favorite one-player games is Mass Effect. If you haven't tried it, go rent it at least. It basically melds a shooter with RPG elements, and it's simply a really fun game. And it got a 10 out of 10 from OXM, if that means anything to you. The only other games I would suggest for their one-player modes would be Guitar Hero 3 or Rock Band, but only if you're into those sorts of games. I wasn't at first, but I got GH3 for Chirstmas a few months ago, and I've gotten hooked on that genre ever since. If you've never played a music game like that before, I'd suggest finding a friend who has it and trying it out for a few songs. Who knows, you might get hooked like I did.

Call of Duty is a No Go. That is mostly made for online play. I'm guessing Left 4 Dead, Halo 3, or either or the Gears of War. Its my perspective on using the Xbox 360.
