What Is The Acoustic Guitar In The Film

Jack black's acoustic guitar?

You're in a tough spot--the guitar was completely custom built for the film, which means to get one made will cost at a minimum of 2000 to 2500 bucks.

More than likely most guitar builders would be willing to custom make anything, though it is good to check out precisely what it is that each builder you look into does well. Some, for example, only build fingerstyle guitars and wouldn't be interested in making a heavy-strum acoustic like Jables' axe in POD. Also, it is useful to know that the lag time on custom guitars can range anywhere from nine months to a year and a half.

Bottom line: if you want this axe, you'll need some scratch and some time. Also, there is a question of finding a builder willing to do such an oddly shaped guitar. For that I have no recommendations. It would be somewhat easier just to go for one of the Gibsons or Taylors they normally play. But if you want the horned guitar, there is no other way...

What is the best way to record an acoustic guitar cover?

Trying to figure that out myself(best way)…. But I sure have learned a few essentials in this respect:Record your video and audio separately and sync them. That's what many people do. Yeah, not the rarest of tips maybe but I was so late to learn this. There are many audio enhancing apps out there. Use 'em. Eg:AudiomaxxDon't keep your microphone( mobile) too close to the guitar. If your recorded audio has distortion, place a cloth over the microphone. It helps.Don't record the video from too far off. I know, Sungha Jung does this but it's a really irritating strategy. Don't keep too much distance. Juha Jarvinen's position, for example,is simply amazing. Check it out in YouTube.Though he doesn't, you can add your face if you need to.No-one gets it right straight away. Keep working. You're more than welcome to add something in the comment section. Cheers!

What are some of the best sad, dark, instrumental acoustic guitar music?

Without doubt this, by Blind Willie JohnsonThis slide guitar classic has been widely covered, used in several films, inspired a Kickstarter campaign and was sent into space on the Voyager probe.Italian film director Pier Paolo Pasolini used it well in his 1964 retelling of the Gospel According to St Matthew. Here Judas is overcome by remorse, and the guitar kicks in (at 2:00:33 - the link goes to the right place on some platforms and starts at the film’s beginning on others).Johnson himself was profoundly religious, and the theme of this piece is probably that of Christ dying to save sinners like himself. Johnson does moan or hum to accompany his guitar, so it is not strictly an instrumental, but if there are any words they are inaudible. Here’s the Ry Cooder version, which is a pure instrumental. He based his musical score for the 1984 film Paris, Texas on this.Johnson’s “Dark was the night, cold was the ground” was probably inspired by this hymn of the same name, popular at the time The Baptist Standard Hymnal with Responsive Readings page 76More background at the Financial Times The Life of a Song: ‘Dark Was the Night, Cold Was the Ground’ All this later acclaim arrived a bit late for the black Texan guitar pioneer and street preacher, who died in 1945.

Can u tune a guitar to sound like a banjo?

No. A guitar has six strings and a banjo has five and you never fret the fifth string. I can't imagine what banjo finger picking on a guitar would even sound like.

What does playing an acoustic guitar symbolize in a dream?

Most of the others have given really good answers. I will give you my perspective, what came to my mind when I read your question. I am an avid lucid dreamer and a lot many times, I am able to imagine musical arrangements in my sleep, especially poetry and lyrics and then recreate them when I wake up. But I think you are asking whats the significance of seeing yourself play an acoustic guitar in your dreams. Much like when people see a White Snake, they relate it to a possibility of a new beginning. Because its a symbol of purity, or pure intentions.Extending the same thought and applying it to playing an acoustic guitar, it might suggest that you are going through an emotional period of time where just words aren’t enough to explain whats going on and guitar is allowing you to express your self more providing you with inner peace (just like the Kung-Fu Panda). Or if you have never tried playing guitar before, it might your sub-conscious mind telling you that you are meant to do that in this lifetime and if you don’t, you will render this life meaningless.Another school of thought would be (forgive me if I hurt anyone’s religious sentiments, its only meant for fun) you are being summoned upon by the Angels from Heaven to come and play with them. On the darker side, it might mean death. Or a less darker side, it might mean that its time to repent for sins if you want to go to heaven and play and sing with the Angels. Or may be its the Satan trying to corrupt your soul by attracting you towards Death Metal music (I dig it btw) and you are seeing revelations from Angels trying to protect you from that by bringing you closer to an acoustic guitar instead of an ESP with a Marshall Amp.Lastly, it might mean that you watched August Rush, School of Rock or some crazy Music movie over the weekend and your mind is totally wired into Guitar.I would suggest this. Go to Game Stop, get a RockSmith 2014 Remastered game and start jamming and see where it takes you. Who knows, Seth might reveal himself to you one night like Ronnie James Dio appeared in the movie, Tenacious D and the pick of Destiny.

What is the best way to record and film myself playing a guitar piece?

What do you mean by a “good quality mic”? Is it a USB, XLR, 3.5mm microphone? What model is it?If it’s a USB mic, just plug it into your computer and start recording audio. You can use freeware like Audacity. If it’s an XLR microphone, you’ll need a more complicated set up. Acquiring an audio interface is the first step.If it’s a microphone with a 3.5mm jack, it will be plug and play as with the USB mic, but I doubt it will be providing any high fidelity audio. You can record the video either by using a webcam or an external camera like a DSLR, mirrorless, or point and shoot. You can even try doing it with your mobile phone. You’ll then need to splice the audio and video together. You can use freeware like Shotcut to do it.Other accessories you may need, tripod, shockmount if you’re using USB or XLR microphones. You’ll need to be very specific with the equipment you have in order to get very good answers.

What is the acoustic song in Napoleon Dynamite, towards the end when Kip/Lofanda are waiting for the bus?

It has like a violin part too, and guitar. It starts immediately after Napoleon's dance scene. Not the White Stripes song, not the When in Rome song. I don't seem to be having any luck finding it, anyone know the name of that song?

What kind of guitar did Bradley Cooper play in “A Star is Born”? It looks like a Gibson ES335, but seems a little small.

It's either a really convincing relic'd replica, or an authentic '63 or ’64 Gibson ES-334, a little side run beside the infamous ES-335. The 334 had a varitone switch above the two tone and volume controls, and this model was discontinued in 1981, but remained available as an Epiphone model. The most noticeable detail is the small crown inlay on the headstock, as opposed to the 335's split diamond (standard on the Les Paul and SG custom).Notice the wear along the upper edge binding as well as in the arm rest area.My best guess, ladies and gents.Edit: someone else suggested it was a limited edition ES-339. The 339 never had the split parallelogram inlays, only dot or box. It's not a 334 either, as I had suggested. It's an ES - 345 from 1964.
