What Is The Best Operating System For Windows Platform

Is Windows the best operating system for PC?

It depends on applications and drivers. There is no one best operating system. If you have a MFD, used for printing and scanning, and there's only a Windows driver for the printer and another for the scanner component, then unfortunately you are stuck with windows. But you are in trouble when an new version comes out and the vendor drops support. Then you may have been better off with Linux, where an independently developed driver supports the printer, though the same driver for the scanner is alpha and dosn't really work, but at least you don't need to buy an new printer. There are devices for which there are only Linux drivers. Linux contains lots of tweaks to support odd hardware. Linux also has less overhead, allowing applications more memory to work with.Linux repositories and BSD ports collections have thousands of free programs. Worth checking before buying commercial software. But you may need the PC to run a particular application, which may dictate windows, making that the operating system of choice. But it's certainly not the best. Other operating systems can let you get more from your PC, and definitely give it a longer usable life.

What's the best operating system?

They're all a waste of time. Each and every single one can cause problems if the user doesn't know how to work with it..

Which operating system is a better platform for game design, Windows or Mac OS, and why?

Everyone at my studio develops on Macbook Pros and there are plenty of tools available for the platform. I think the only PC we have in the office is the old one the book keeper uses.  Bear in mind that there are more tool selections and engines available on Windows, but if you're just looking to get started as a developer on your own, there's really no reason to switch to Windows. I'm guessing you must be pretty new to game development if you are asking this question. I'd like to gently nudge you toward the Unity3D game engine. It has a free version to get you started and is flexible enough to make any kind of game you want, and powerful enough to produce really high quality games if you know how. If you're on a tight budget, pick up Gimp and Blender to make your assets with. Once you've got your feet under you, you can start thinking of moving up to more professional tools like Maya and Zbrush, or Unity Pro.It's really hard to make a game if you're doing everything by yourself, way more important than getting a new computer and expensive tools is finding people to collaborate with who can supplement the skills you have.

Which is the best operating system for programming?

Thank you for the question.Programming may be divided as(i) Language Coding [C, C++, Python, Java and so on]For the 1st category to Code you can choose whatever you want, no boundary can stop you from coding as there are too many IDE platforms for Linux based distributions , Windows Platform and also Mac Os Platform.but for me I have used Windows for 9 years and now using Linux Distribution for 3 years and continuing to use it, never used Mac. The problem with me in windows I did not like the interface, and in background there are too many things run on simultaneously and Windows is best for basic level coding and if you want to learn freely what free thing is and true experience, go for Linux. The most important thing, we have to code and to learn how to code, this is not dependant on Operating SystemIf you like Windows and it is easier for you to use windows then go for itIf you like Linux , then go for it. Many distributions there, do not get confused, for starting in Linux, you can go with Debian Derivative distributions and also with Red Hat Enterprise Derivative Distributions. Choice is yours. If you like Mac, and have Mac, then go for it.(ii) Operating System BasedFor this category you have to select dedicated Operating System. If you want to Develop Windows and want to make software that is .exe mainly, you must go with Windows. If you want to Develop Linux (far better than Windows Developing) then go with Linux Distributions and there is also Many Distributions and there factors are different but target a distribution and learn all things and then Linux will be easy to useIf you want to develop Software and Apps for Mac then there is only option you have to go with MacMy ChoiceIn Windows I have used IDE s like Net Beans, Visual Basic, Code Blocks, Dev C++ ( there are many IDE s there)In Linux (Ubuntu 16.04) I am using Code Blocks and Net Beans. For Android Development I have used Android Studio both in Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) no problem there, both are flexible. So Choice according to your needs no problem there to start with any operating system, we just Have to code. And Another thing, you will not just code, another things are also there to choose operating system. So in which operating system you can fulfil your needs go for it.Thank YouRJ :)

Best Operating System for Programming?

Hi fellow people, I would be soon programming in Java's J2SE, J2EE and also, PHP coding with a database access where I would install Apache HTTPD server on my platform to test out several codes. So, now I am starting to move on to visualization as that's the preferred path for developers.

But the question is what Operating System may I use for this purpose? I tried Windows XP but afraid of the BSOD screen, Xubuntu OS which was lacked in the user interface. So which OS is really reliable and also could accomdate this to be done in the manner of visualization?

Please kindly advise, thanks!

What would be an advantage of owning the same operating system as the majority of computer users?

Advantages:

a. It makes it easier to open, edit and create files that have come from the same operating system.

b. It makes is easier for a user to use one operating system only - so they can familiarise themselves with it.

c. It may make it possible to use a variety of different hardware and software with it - e.g. Word for windows cannot be used on a mac.
Eg. a mouse for use with windows may not work properly on a mac either.

____

Disadvantages:

a. Some users may prefer to use specific operating systems such as a mac.

b. Many different things such as an iPod may work better with a Mac because Apple manufactures both products.

c. Using many different operating systems can make it harder for a user to use them all.
E.g. it may be hard to change something in the control panel in windows if you are used to using a Mac.
