What Is The Best Type Of Pc To Get For School Work Music And Everyday Internet Use

Is a computer with a 2.0 ghz processor fast enough for every day use?

Sorry this might be a year too late, but if you are still having the same question, I may be able to help, as I have fixed and performed wonders on computers since I was 5 years old. Clock Speed is the speed that a processor cycles through a system of measurement called “ticks” much like the tick of a manual or clockwork device. A gigahertz (GHz) is simply a billion ticks. Or a thousand million ticks. Each tick is the same exact speed, so this comment about “fast pace but slow stride” makes no sense. If you want a fast computer, there are 3 things to keep in mind:Processor: The higher your GHz/s, the better. This is the “brain” of your computer. The bigger your brain, the better it works.Video Card: This is tricky to find out which is best for your set up, but a better video card processes graphics at a much higher rate.Motherboard: This is your engine’s “heart”. This is where all the parts come together to create a unison of functions and features. The better your motherboard, the faster all your functions will be.I would say RAM, but in sense, nobody seems to know what RAM does, they all think it’s simply a unit to load things faster, which it isn’t, so that deletes the other comments. RAM is the system’s way of holding volatile (information that can be saved but will not if closed; i.e. Web Pages) data at a given time. For instance, 4GB of RAM is PLENTY of RAM for everyday tasks and even light gaming in today’s graphics assuming you have other stuff of adequate quality. Why? Because the machine will be able to hold that much memory at once. 8GB is good for advanced gaming when paired with a good video card and processor (about 3–4 GHz.) Where 16+ is usually used when someone records their gaming or other software for upload, because then the machine can use the 16+ GB of volatile storage to process at once. The hard drive and RAM are VERY VERY different. Never confuse them. Hard drive is saved data, meaning if something crashes, that information is still saved. RAM is volatile data, meaning you better have an autosave on, or remember to save your progress.I hope this helped, and again, sorry for the delay

Playing music over school intercom?

Unless there is something unusual about your school's PA system,
you will need access to the equipment
so that you can connect a signal source to it.

My parents won't let me use the computer, even to do homework. What should I do?

If they don't believe you should be using the computer for your schoolwork, ask them to check with your teachers regarding the requirements for your assignments. In fact, many times a teacher will give out a paper detailing those requirements - if computer access is required, it will be right there!

Also, show your parents you can be responsible with your computer use by asking for it BEFORE you need it, while giving them another option. You might want to say something like, "Dad, tomorrow I'm going to need to use the computer at home to type up a school project. Will that be okay with you, or do I need to stay after school to use the computer lab there?" That way you're letting him know that you care about his rules, but that the computer use isn't an optional thing.

Do everything you can at school or on paper before you go to the computer. Write your rough draft out by hand before you type it up. This will show initiative in doing as much as possible so you're taking up as little time on the computer as possible.

Your parents are likely just concerned that something will happen while you're on the computer. And why shouldn't they be? Look at Megan Meier, or Dateline's exposure of pedophiles who used the internet to lure what they thought were young girls into bad situations.

Show your parents you're being responsible by NOT doing what you're not supposed to online, respect their rules, show as much initiative as possible when it comes to anything that can be done offline, and invite them to examine your school requirements. While it may seem like a lot of work, the end result will be that your parents may begin to be a little gentler on the restrictions when they see your level of commitment.

Trying to get skyrim on school computers?

I LOVE the game Skyrim I play it everyday. I have good grades so video games is not a destraction. I want to get it on my school computer. The IT department says that if we want something to go on it it must have some educational value. I need ideas on how to get it on my schools mac. How is it educational? Or how could I put it on a flash drive and play it off that.

What advice would you give to a Computer Science major student that you wish you were given when you started learning Computer Science?

Never rely on your education only. Classes are can sometimes be too bland or too theoretical. A lot of CS programs don't even teach what you will do working in the industry.Take Math and problem solving seriously. You use the same skills in programming every day.Focus on the big picture generally - learn the big concepts of computer science, don't get caught up in language specific details.Polish your communication skills. Never excuse yourself to not be social and outgoing because you are a 'computer science nerd'.Work on a balanced healthy lifestyle in eating and exercising. Do not give the excuse again of 'I'm a computer science nerd'.Work on side projects/other interests. The best programmers don't only program. They learn about other topics they are interested in. Programming/Computer science is only a tool like writing or speaking; it must be applied to some area. Forget GPA. Keep above a 3.0 or 3.5 if you must. Work on programming Go to hackathons. Two points for this - socializing, networking, working on projects.Always try and apply for things you don't think you are qualified for. Do not skip out on the career fair, especially if you are a freshman. Be informed of programs like Google Engineering Practicum and Google Summer of Code.Talent is overrated as always. Think of the best programmer you know. A year of hard work can put you on their level.Start competitive programming as early as possible. Master one programming language for interviews.Concepts in computer science aren't mastered in one go. Repetition is important. Consider being a TA for a class. Patience is key to intuition.Have an online presence and blog.Work on hot area topics. Make some apps in data science, machine learning, computer vision, or map reduce just for experience.Work on a fast breadth-first search rather than a fast depth-first search. Do research. Then work for a big company. Then work for a startup. Then work on nonprofits/open source.

Mac or PC which is better, please lists. Pros and Cons?

I am planning to use my notebook just for note takling and homework and download music for free. Thats it. and I don't want to carry around a heavy notebook like my HP. Its really heavy when you have alot of book to carry plus this HP, and the battery life only last for 3 hours MAX! and its suck because I have to carry the charger while I'm in class charging my HP and taking notes.

Wat r the advantages and disadvantages of computers and internet????

Computers can be used for a variety of things. For example, you can:

Write a letter and keep in touch
Create your own CV
Plan your holiday
Do accounts
Go shopping
Research your family tree
Learn a new skill
Do your homework/college assignments
Visit the library

The advantages are endless regarding the ability to use this tool to speed production of everyday of mundane tasks. The Internet is another issue that is a mixed bag. The Internet has made our world a lot smaller, allowing us to communicate with each other great distances, meet new people, discover new places, learn new skills, market new products and services and share new ideas.

The Internet can be harmful if used improperly and has created new avenues for people to cause us grief. Many people now complain that their “privacy” once held dear is now compromised. Much information about people is now made public and shared between private and goverment organizations. For a small fee and a bit of information a person can obtain a huge amount of personal information on just about anyone. In the right hands this information can be helpful, but in the wrong hands can have severe detrimental effects.

Identity theft, fraud, stalking, child exploitation, data corruption, viruses plague us daily. We must educate ourselves against these hazards so that we do not fall victim to them. Computers and the Internet are harmless and benefit us all. It is only when “bad” people interface with them that they pose a threat.

How has computers improve and help us in our daily life?

Computers today are one of the important things we are using. They have helped a lot in compiling a lot data which used to be in hard records. One of the uses or benefits of computers is that they are able to provide and retrieve information so quickly so they have increased the pace of our work. The increase in the speed of work has helped us to do many things with less resources like in past a lot of manpower was used for record keeping and files and other things were made to keep the records saved.

This is one use of computers in our lives other than that computers has helped us to work with machines which have the ability to produce the best quality of products with maximum speed and efficiency. In today's world it is necessary that to cater for such a heavy population things are made at the higher pace with best quality, so it is possible with the help of computer that we are able to cater for the need of quantity and quality of products required in daily life.

Computer is also helping us in education of children, it has enabled us to get the information form one part of the world to the other at a very rapid pace. So in summary computer today is in every walk of life, and is helping us a lot in developing at a fast pace.
