What is the color of the negative and positive wires on the rear speakers in a 2014 Ram Big Horn?

USUALLY the stripe is indicative of the positive terminal. It shouldn't matter as long as you wire both rear speakers identically so that they are not out of phase with each other.

Which speaker wire is positive and which is negative in my 99 honda civic, (rear speakers)?

the wires with the yellow stripe are positive--there should be a blue and yellow for one side and a red and yellow for the other speaker.

the wires with the white stripes are grounds. one side will be grey and white the other will be brown and white

hope that helps

How can you test which speaker wire is positive or negative for car speakers?

Actually, it doesn't matter how you hook up the speaker wires as long as you do it the same on all speakers.

To tell what wire you're gonna use for each positive or negative, refer back to the factory plug that was on the factory speakers. Decide what wire you want to use from one of the plugs and use that same wire on all of the plugs for either positive or negative on the speakers.

Kathy- Speaker wire does carry electricity. That's how it functions. Each wire has either a positive or negative pulse, that what makes it move in or out. These pluses are sent to the voice coil, which is basically copper wire coiled around a cylinder form. This voice coil is positioned inside a magnet. Since copper isn't magnetic, it rests freely inside the magnet without any magnetic force acting upon it. Once the radio is turned on the positive and negative pulses are sent to the voice coil. These pluses give the voice coil a positive or negative charge moving the speaker in or out depending on the charge.

What color wire is for which back speaker on a dodge charger?

Just hook them up and if the balance control from left to right is wrong switch them from side to side. The grounds should be common.

What does the stripe mean in speaker wire?

It's so you can get your "phasing" correct on the speakers.

The stripe ID one wire, and you always connect that to the Neg (black) connection, and your speakers stay in phase.

If you hook them up at random, there is a 50/50 chance they will be wrong. Of you do this, one speaker will be pulsing "out", and the other "inwards", and it will sound weird.

It doesn't actually matter which way you connect speakers, because they are an AC device, but you do want them all the same, and the stripe is so you can identify which wire is which after you thread it 1/2 way through your car's body.

How can you tell which audio speaker wire is the positive one?

Is like William Donovan said: But, although, we assume for practical reasons no polarity in AC the true is that, underneath the blanket, it exists too but it switches between the two poles several times per second (usually 50 or 60 times). In practical terms the two poles function indistinctly. I’m mentioning this because this change, each 20 milliseconds (for 50Hz), “creates” a phase. And if we talk about stereo, not matching the phases of two sources, rise phasing concerns. Not matching the phases of the two audio signals can create cancellation or addition issues and degrade audio quality. So, if it is a mono amplifier go ahead with little concern about polarity or phase. If it is a stereo pay more attention to cable colors.
