Why do people care so much if I drive a big lifted truck?
I drive a 2006 F-350 Ford pick up on 35 inch tires and a 8 inch lift kit on it. Its a diesel so it will shoot out black smoke from the exhaust if I really get on it. I live in PA in the country side so its somewhat okay and normal to drive a big truck here. But as soon as I go into more urban area's like New york or area's in New jersey, random people in their small honda's give me looks like I am out to kill everyone. I use my truck for my work and going out in the woods offroading for fun. I'm sorry my lifestyle is not like most of you but that doesn't mean I can't have what I worked hard for. The earth has been through millions and billions of years of comet's, earthquackes, coninental plate shifts, big storms, and Ice ages. I don't think my truck which is 0.0000000000000000001 size of the earth is going to do much harm.

When you consider that Jeeps tend to be top heavy and roll over easily in STOCK configuration, I think you'll need to put training wheels on this rig if you want to keep it upright.
Is it legal to transport a tied down mattress on top of a car with no roof racks in Witham, Essex, UK?
The legal requirement is for the load to be secure not whether or not there is a roof rack. If you’ve got a roof rack but the mattress isn’t secured to it properly (or the roof rack isn’t secured properly to the car) then that’s illegal. But if the mattress is tied down (and assuming it doesn’t obstruct the drivers view or the lights or the registration plate) then that would be legal. It’s a safety issue you don’t want the mattress to fall off and cause an accident. If you’ve made sure it’s not going to do that it’s fine.Incidentally Witham doesn’t have it’s own legal system. It’ll be the same throughout England & Wales (undoubtedly Scotland too but they do have their own legal system).
