What Is The Jokers Real Name In Dc Comics

What is The Joker's Real Name?

In the current canon DC comic Universe 52 What is the Joker's real name? I've found several sources saying it was Jack Napier. But when I search that it only comes up as being the Joker from 1989 Batman movie. Also is the graphic novel "The Killing Joke" still the Joker's canon origin, I've been told they changed it, is that true?

What is the Joker's real name?

In official DC continuity, the Joker's name hasn't been revealed, and probably won't. His 'official' origin was told in 'The Killing Joke' by Alan Moore, but as much as it showed of his life before, his name wasn't mentioned.

But, in the 'Batman' movie that came out in 89, it was Jack Napier.

What is the Joker's real name?

Just to clarify a previous question -- the story in which the Joker's "secret origin" is supposedly given is called "The Killing Joke" (1988), a one-shot story by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland. In it, we see flashbacks to a time when a young, struggling comedian was forced into committing a robbery on the same night he learned his pregnant wife was killed in a household accident. When Batman shows up at the robbery and the man accidentally falls into a chemical vat, the effect it has on his skin and hair is enough to push him over the edge into insanity.

It was a fun read, but DC has since made it clear the story is just one possible origin -- they realize he's more effective as a villain when he doesn't have a tragic past that readers might be able to sympathize with. So nothing is known of the Joker's past until the night he fell into the vat.

"Jack Napier" (a play on the word "jackanapes", or a mischief-maker) is one of the aliases he's used over the years, along with "Harlen Quinn" (harlequin) and a few others I forget right now, but so far -- no real name. At this point, it's not likely even he knows what it is.

What is the real identity of the Joker in DC comics & how did he become Joker?

The jokers name?

Is the Joker s name Jack Napiar? They used it in the Batman animated series and the Batman 1898 movie, and I think it might have been mentioned throughout the comics at some point, maybe. So as to why im so confused is, why did Batman ask the Mobius Chair in Dc universe rebirth #1 and justice league #50 what the jokers name is. Im pretty sure they have no knowledge as to what the jokers name or past is in the later movies as well. So im a bit confused. How could his name be known yet not known??

Does the joker have a last name?

Joker does not have a definitive alter ego or origin in the comics. Jack Napier was the name of the Joker character in the 1989 Batman movie, but various comic book origins have called the Joker by various names or by none at all.
Batman: The Killing Joke suggests that Joker is so far gone into insanity that he doesn't remember the truth about himself.

Is The Joker's real name Jack Napier?

"Jack" was confirmed" in Batman Confidential, but the Joker still has no last name.

Napier was a clever faux name, borrowd by reversing Melvin Reipan's last name & as a pun on Jackanape.

Riddler's name is Ed Nygma to sound liek Enigma, but it was legaly changed. His birth name is Edward Nashton.

DC, in the 80s, was is the process of ridding characters of corniness. Plus, it doesn;t really matter who the Joker was. His DNS is tainted, his blood is poisonous, & he burned off his fingertips with acid. It' s safe to assume that he killed any & all relatives & friends from his past life, kinda like the way he kills off all his henchmen whenever he reinvents himself.
