Why is my Galaxy S9+ unable to download anything?
The Samsung Galaxy S9+ can download data using Wifi, Cellular Network, Bluetooth, NFC, and the Micro-USB C reversible charging/data port.In fact the Qualcomm 10nm 64-bit Architecture Snapdragon 845 has a bety-fast download speed capable of 1.2Gbps.First I would try going into Settings-Apps (Toggle System Apps from the menu in the upper right hand corner) then Download Manager. Make sure it is not somehow disabled, and then Storage, amd Clean Cache.Do this with Google Chrome as well if that is where you can’t download from. Then try to download again.Second, unless you have shut off your Wifi and Cellular Network Data Connection, or disabled your Download Manager App and can enable which ever one is causing the device not to download data, I would say a Factory Reset will restore the device to it’s normal download-capable self.I bought mine in May and there isn’t anything it won’t do with the proper configuration settings.It is a beautiful device.

I moved to the US from India last year and my 4G phone bought in India worked perfectly in the US.I'd done some research about this before I left because I was in the same position as you. After reading a lot, I came to the conclusion that the compatibility depends entirely on the model you are purchasing and not on where the phone is from.The bands used for the 4G transmission in India are different from those in the US. Most phones are made to work with multiple bands, allowing them to be used in different countries. The bands supported by the phone are mostly a part of the specifications available online and on the box of the phone.I suggest that you compare the bands supported by the phone you are planning on buying with the bands used by the major carriers in the US and take a decision accordingly. I don't remember what bands these are but a quick Google search should yield the answer.All the best!P.S. I am currently back in India on break and I am using 4G on a phone bought in the United States, without any problems. Clearly it is a problem of hardware in the mobile rather than where it was made and/or sold.

The answers below are right on. On the status bar of your phone you will see the symbol for “the bars”. As you travel you should see this change from 4G to 3G to 1X. This means as described in the other answers that your handset is providing the “best” data connection that it can find to deliver the Verizon services with 4G being the best and 1X the worst. 4G works on a lower frequency than either 3G or 1X so it is thought to be able to provide a more robust coverage for customers being able to penetrate buildings, etc. Keep an eye on these indicators as you travel around and you will see what I mean. The 1X indicator comes up more times than you would expect. The good news is that at least you have some data coverage on the mobile network.Each of the data services requires a unique base station and so as you would imagine the capital cost is huge to keep all three. Going to 4G was supposed to provide a path to remove the 3G and 1X infrastructures. Well not really. I live 1.5 mi from the cell site and cannot get 4G coverage in my house however I can get 3G. Interesting and they are talking about deploying 5G. I suggest that they get 4G working first.
