What Is The Minimum Age In Tn. To Rent A Motel.

What age do you have to be to rent an apt. hotel. or motel for short vacation?

Legal age in this country is 18.

Some hotels will allow an unacommpanied 18 year old to check in. Most require a guest be 21 years old in order to check in. The only way to find out a specifc hotel's age requirement is to call them and ask.

In order to check into a hotel, regardless of age requirement, you have to present a government issued photo ID (driver's license or passport) and a valid credit card in your name.

What is the minimum legal age that a person can rent a hotel or motel room?

While I'm not sure about ALL states, I can tell you that most of 'em have no codified restrictions on the a "required" age to rent a hotel room.

However, the national/regional hotel chains all have different policies on this. Most SAY that you have to be 18, but most also require that you leave a major credit card as a deposit for damage/theft of property. So, if you have a credit card (regardless of if you've reached the age of 18), you'll probably be able to get a room at most hotels.

Is there an age limit for renting a hotel room?

It depends on the hotel. The hotel (in MA) that I work at will rent rooms to 18-year-olds. The only thing we will do if you're under 21 is take a copy of your ID and make a note on your record that you're under 21, that way if you try to order a beer from room service or the restaurant they won't give it to you. However, another hotel from the same corporation (different name, same parent company) won't rent to anyone under 21 because they have minibars in the room that have alcohol in them. It's too much work to keep track of the keys and make sure they're pulled right away if you're under 21, so they just won't rent to anyone under that age.

It's strictly a hotel preference. Just check with the hotel you're interested in making a reservation at to see what their policy is.

Also, I know a lot of people under 21 don't have credit cards, so most will require an extra deposit if you want to pay cash. And don't use a debit card - the deposit will come out of there too and it can take awhile to get back to you because the bank ties it up! Ask their policy on this as well.

I can't speak for CT and NH, but I imagine it's the same.

What is the minimum age to rent a motel room?

It depends on the hotel--18 inst any sort of alw, just the policy that some hotel owners set.

Others are 21, Others will make a judgment call based on how you look and act. Now you and I know that good people and bad people often dress the same, and pre-judging is not a good idea, but in the real world that's how it works.

Call the hotels you want and see what their policy is.

There are laws that protect you from racial sex religous and that type of discrimination, but age is not protected/

At what age can you rent a hotel or motel room?

I have done a lot of traveling all over the US and I can answer this for you firsthand. Sorry, but they won't rent you a room if you're only 16. Most places are going to require that you be 21. They're also going to require a credit card in your name. You can always call up some hotels to check ahead of time, but I don't think you'll find anywhere that will rent to you.

Your best bet is to have someone rent the room for you under their name (if you can get someone to do that for you).

Just to make sure I called up a few places here (I live in California) and was told that they require at least one person be an "adult" which in their words is someone 21 or older with valid ID.

Who says that in Italy doesn’t exist the minimum wage is wrong. It doesn’t exist a general minimum wage, but wages are set on industry sector basis using collective bargaining. The collective work contracts are signed by the unions. Here are some examples:Sector > minimum hourly wageclothing industry > 6,60 €Agriculture > 7,13 €Hospitality Sector > 7,17 €Metal industry > 7,32 €Construction sector > 7,59 €Food industry > 8,21 €Bank / Insurance > 11,11 €

Where can I find out the minimum age requirement for renting a hotel room by state?

You are legally allowed to rent a hotel room at 18, because (like the famous line in Jim Carey's Liar Liar) individuals who are younger than 18 cannot enter into a contractual agreement. Since you are accepting responsibility for a room for the night or whatever the time period, you have to be old enough to enter into that contract.

But, due to varying restrictions by state and insurance companies, although you can enter into a contract at 18, you cannot drink until 21. Soooooooo....since many 18-20 year olds stay in hotels to drink, puke, and cause disturbances, the bad apples have ruined it for the good ones. Most hotels require that you be 21 or older to rent a room, and you must show ID for that. The reason there is not a collective website is because it is less the state's decision and more the insurance companies decision. Different hotels have different policies and liabilities; therefore, different hotels have different age requirements.

Legal age to rent motel room???!!!!?

18 but most will require a cc or debit card

What is the legal age to rent a hotel room?

For most hotels, it is 18. Some hotels (I used to work for the Hilton Corporation) will have an age requirement of 21, and some a little higher.

It really depends on the class of the hotel or motel. Best thing to do is call before you go so you don't have an embarrassing situation when you arrive.

What is the legal age to rent a hotel room in Alabama?

I used to work in hotels and the legal age to rent a room is 18. However hotel chains can set their own minimum age requirements. There are a lot of hotels (mainly major chains and in places like Myrtle Beach) that will require you to be 21. Most hotels will require a major credit card for the reservation and for the deposit during your stay. DO NOT USE YOUR DEBIT CARD!!! Here is why, you can pay with cash even though you used the credit card for your reservation and your deposit however they pre-authorize the card and put a “hold” on the amount of the stay and the deposit. They do not “charge” the card however the bank/credit card company will hold that amount and you cannot spend the money. If you use your debit card that could get you into some cash trouble. You can always change your form of payment to your debit card or cash upon check out. If you are using a travel site such as priceline you will want to contact the hotel BEFORE you make your reservation and ask about their age policy. If they have an age policy and you do not meet the requirements they can refuse to let you stay. How will they know I am not 18? Well they ask to see ID and the credit card that was used to book the room. Some of the travel websites will not give a refund for not follow the hotels policies so be warned! You don’t want to get to your city, not have a room and be out the cash. Most of the smaller hotels will let you be 18 with either a credit card or a cash deposit that you get back upon check out. I know it sucks I travel all the time and when I was 18 it really stunk trying to get a room. Have a great trip I hope this helps!
