Is SMOK a good and safe vape brand?
SMOK is certainly the most popular and well known. Good? No, I wouldn’t say so. There are much better options out there in the same price range. What sort of device are you looking into? If you’re just starting out I’d check out Kangertech, they’re also pretty widely available and have a few decent starter kits. SMOK has a pretty bad reputation among more serious vapers. Do a quick search on smok mods catching fire, shorting out, bricking themselves, or having a very short lifespan. Their coils are also known to be problematic. They don’t last very long, will give you dry hits unless modifying them a bit to get them to wick better if you’re using a high vg juice, or will come apart at the bottom so you need pliers to get them out of your atomizer.My first kit that took external batteries was the Smok Alien. It did the job and got me started but looking back I would have gone with something else since for what I paid I could have had something better. The paint on the mod chipped right off. The coils gave me all of the problems I listed above and when I started building my own the rba piece I got to use in the baby beast tank the kit came with constantly shorted out. To me and many others smok is like the Walmart brand of vape devices and I’m not someone who buys high end pieces either because I can’t afford it right now. I just like things that work how they’re supposed to and have a good lifespan.
