How should I answer when someone asks for a price of a service I'm offering?

Well, if you have a price list in place, (and you should have one, as people would be less likely to trust you if you "make up" your pricing as you go, or they will suspect you are hiding your pricing as you are too expensive), tell them you have a price list and you will email it to them, show it to them after you hear more about what they want to do. This way, you can point them to the best package or custom make a package just for them.I wouldn't talk about what other people do, what the average rate is in the market etc. That's opening a can of worms for the client to argue with you. Focus on what client wants and what you can deliver. If they want price and not talk about what they want, or what you can offer, then they're not serious or a competitor digging for your pricing.

What is the price of success?

the price of success depends on what u considered to be successful . u may be successful at work , u may have a goal and succeed on it , or maybe your success is in your family . all three of them require different types of sacrifices but mainly dedication .

successful at work the two main sacrifices :

1. time is one of the main things one has to sacrifice to be successful at work . u may need to work for long hours , work over time , sometime even skip dinner mainly to be on the project most of the time .

2. the family related to the time also and the most important sacrifice . sadly it is common to see very successful people being not successful at their families .
a lot of the time this same people has to leave their families for long hours and it is common to see someone who is not from the family raising the kids , Beverly hills is a perfect example of this .

successful at family the sacrifices :

1. the work , the first and the most affected most of the time is the work . being successful at family requires a lot of time and so does work this is the main reason why wanting to be successful at this requires not been able to be there all the time and/or the abandonment of the job .

2. personal objetives . why is this a problem ??? well this is a problem because being a family requieres to work as a team so when working as a team sometimes what one individual may want may not be what the others want , meaning that you or the person wanting to be succesful may have to surrender their objetives for the objetives of the others .

so at the end i believe than the real success is on being able to make the right decissions knowing that u will not regret them , making a conbination of what u want what others want and what will help u .

Help! What is a "price index"?

I think the answer is D, but I really don't feel confident with that.

A price index is:

a) a comparison of the price of a market basket from a fixed point of reference.

b) a comparison of real GDP in one period relative to another.

c) the cost of a market basket of goods and services in a base period divided by the cost of the same market basket in another period.

d) a ratio of real GDP to nominal GDP.

What is the price of a 5-year, $1,000 bond that pays 6% coupons, compounded semi-annually, and has an annual yield of 5%?

The easiest way to do this question is to use a financial calculator with the following inputs:N= 10  [this is because 5 years x 2 (to account for semi annual)]i/y = 2.5   [5% / 2 (periods per year) = 2.5]PMT = 30 [(.06 coupon  x 1000 face value) / 2 = 30]FV = +1000Compute PV = 1043.76032-----Bonus: What if the payments were annual rather than semi-annual -- how would your answer change?Answer: the numbers change to:N= 5  i/y = 5PMT = 60 [(.06 coupon  x 1000 face value) = 30]FV = +1000Compute PV = 1,043.29477This makes sense, the present value is slightly higher in the semi-annual bond since you are getting payments more often and would be able to invest those payments at the theoretical market rate of 5% in buying more of the same bond.----
