What Is Wrong With Me My Throat

What's wrong with my mouth?

You should see a doctor. While Quora may be one place to seek general health or medical information, Quora is not a good place to seek specific medical advice. Is there something wrong with my throat or tonsils?

Whenever I clear my throat there is a good amount of blood in my saliva when I spit. Everyday I feel dry as hell in my throat especially when I wake up in the morning. Everyday I can't even sleep in because after 9 hours of sleep I cannot stand the absolute dryness in my throat. It feels like there is phlegm packed like hell in there. The worse part is that if I don't eat any meat in my meal I feel a slight temperature increase, extreme dryness, and the cold/flu phlegm feeling in my throat constantly. I found it impossible to answer this question even with my most deepest and creative thoughts. I always think about what came before this universe and what came before that and you realize that leads to a never ending chain because there HAS to be something before everything. If nothing exists then something is still happening: existence is happening. To understand how everything even before the universe began you have to know what the 5th dimension actually is. And for that you have to transcend mans given ability of perception. Now whenever I drink water it seems to relieve this.
My health history: I used to smoke tobacco and drink occasionally. I used to pack down 3 soda cans and eat tons of bread and pasta a day everyday in high school. As a result to that I had a kidney stone when I was 18, and to this day have never had my tonsils been operated on or taken out. I have TMJ so I usually wake up with my mouth a little bit open and drool a little bit. Now I've changed my habits; I drink tons of water, sparingly drink anything but water. Don't smoke anymore except on rare occasion, and drink once in a while. I have noticed when the problems exasperates the most is when I have a red stripe like a mark on my uvula. It goes away but the problems persist and ive been VERY SLOWLY accumulating more blood in my spit from clearing my throat. From a dot to 25 ish percent blood. Is my throat just irritated or do I have something. I know for sure it is not an oral std. I don't have any medical insurance and I am seriously concerned about my well being please help

What is wrong with me? I have chills, I cannot get warm, my throat is killing me, and my body hurts really bad. I feel like I broke my back.

I agree with Chloë Brown that the likeliest cause is flu. I furthermore agree that you really need to go to the doctor, even if it’s “only” flu (which can hospitalize and even kill you). But yes, this sounds like flu and, heavens, there’s probably a 99.5% chance or better that it is flu, but there are also nastier things that it could be as well… all of which would be very good and possibly life-saving to get checked out by a doctor.(And when the doctor does say “You have the flu” s/he may actually prescribe a thing or two that will mitigate the pain and symptoms, so there’s that. :) )Get well soon. Hot chicken broth, sleep, and aspirin, acetominophen/paracetamol, ibuprofen, or naproxen, are all probably the best things for you to get better.

What is wrong - Throat pain on one side after yawning?

I am a 25 year old non smoker, non drinker female. I became sick on 01/31 with symptoms that seemed like bronchitis and what felt like strep throat. The throat pain was odd because it was only on the right side. I could see yellow blisters and red lines in my throat on the right side. I finally went to the doctor and got antibiotics on 02/06 after I still felt sick. I have been taking the antibiotics. Today I woke up and my throat is no longer sore, however if I yawn it feels like there is a "pulling" sensation in my throat with pain. I can eat, drink, and swallow without pain, it is only upon yawning. Also, throughout this time my ear does hurt slightly. If I look in the back of my throat, the right side (which is the one that hurts) appears to have "extra" skin tissue in the VERY back of my throat and it is also swollen beside the ulva. Does anyone know what could be going on? I get worried easily and would appreciate any help or someone with knowledge of this.

When I sing . . . It feels as if my throat is closing up. Whats wrong with me???

It sounds like a few problems to me.

One is breathing techniques. I konw you've said you've tried some, but just to reiterate, here are some more good ones (maybe you've tried before?).

Squat or Plie when singing warm-ups or repertoire. This lowers your center of gravity making your diaphragm work, so you can take a nice deep breath.

Every time you breathe in, make sure your stomach and back expand-- your chest should not rise!

Lay on the floor and put a heavy book on your lower abdomen. Breathe a deep breath for four counts, hold it for four counts, then let it out on a strong hiss until all the air is gone.

Standing, breathe in for four counts, hold it for four counts, hiss for four counts. Let the rest of the air out. Repeat only changing the hissing from four to 6, 8, 12, and 16 counts. This will help breath support and control.

It really sounds like you're singing from your throat and not your stomach. Hopefully these help. Make sure your throat and tongue are always relaxed when singing, there should be absolutely no strain.

If changing your breathing doesn't help, I would go see a voice pathologist at a clinic. They have tools to see the inside of your throat, while you are vocalizing, to see what exactly is going on in there. I hope it is something that can be fixed! Good luck! :)

My throat hurts to swallow and talk... What's wrong with me? o_o?

So yesterday I had to stay home from school (yes, on Halloween. It sucked =_=) because my throat feels like it had sandpaper rubbing against it inside. Now today it doesn't feel like sandpaper it feels sore. Not sore but... I don't really know how to explain it D: Anyways, I can't even talk or eat because of how badly it hurts. It's not because of singing or anything I hate singing so please don't tell me it's because I "tightened my neck muscles while singing" or something like that I: And I don't even talk that much... So yeah... does anybody know what illness this is, if it even is a illness?

Why does my throat hurt when I talk/sing?

OK, do you remember the warnings on bottles of pain relievers, that say “if pain persists, see your doctor”?This is when you do that.Regular talking should not cause pain. Singing (with proper technique) shouldn’t hurt. I suggest strongly that you get this checked out.

What are some ways to stop "throat-singing," or singing "off" the breath?

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! I know this one (because occasionally I do this myself). What your teacher is telling you when she says you are singing “off your voice” or “off your breath” is that you aren’t exhaling when you sing. You are using your throat muscles to make the tone-and when you do that , your throat closes up, restricting your tone. What your teacher wants you to do is sing with an open throat.Think of your throat as an open tube where the air passes. When you don’t have air passing through, then that tube will close up because the throat muscles will try to make up for the lack of air by pushing the tone through. But because the tube is closed, the sound that comes out is tight, weak and squeaking, not full and resonant like it would be if you were exhaling. It is exhale that give you the fullness of tone your teacher is looking for. So, basically, she is telling you to not hold your breath when you sing—to exhale as you sing.Try sighing on an “ah” so that you can feel what breathing through the tone feels like. When you do this, you will feel your abs tense as you exhale the air—THAT is what you should aim for when singing. You want your abs to do the work of managing the air-NOT your throat. You should feel nothing in your throat when you sing-because it should be all air movement with your throat just a pass thru for the air and the tone. Also take note of where the tone feels like it is going in your head-I don’t want to say “aim for that feeling” because then we get into forcing the air into a certain place instead of letting the air find its place when you exhale. But do take note of where the air does go and how it feels without manipulating it, because it is an indicator that it is right. It will take time to get to the point where you will do it automatically, but keep working on it. You have to get this in order to expand your range-without learning to do this, the highest notes in your range will lack the ringing and fullness that keeps them from being shrill. And I can tell you, once you start using air instead of throat, the resonance and the vibrations in your mouth and head will be just…amazing. It will be nothing but sound, all around you, especially if you are singing in a small space.
