What is your predicted FIFA World Cup 2018 group stage standings, and why?

Thanks for A2AGroup A:Uruguay are heavy favourites to top the group comprising of Egypt,Russia and Saudi Arabia as they have a stronger squad compared to the other three nations. Egypt will rely on Mo Salah to steer them into the knockout stages by getting second place for which they will have to battle with Russia and Saudi Arabia. Russia will bank on home comforts and crowd support to try and progress beyond the group stage. The battle for second place will be tense and I feel that Russia will qualify as runners up in the group. My final prediction on the standings of this group is as follows:UruguayRussiaEgyptSaudi ArabiaGroup B:This group comprises of 2010 winners Spain, Euro 2016 winners Portugal, Iran and Morocco. This group should be topped by Spain as they are much superior than the other two teams and are a better all round team than Portugal. Portugal should get second. The Spain vs Portugal match on the opening match day will decide the winner of this group which I think Spain will win and top the group by being undefeated in the group stage. Portugal will come second with two wins against the other two.Prediction:SpainPortugalIranMoroccoGroup C:France are overwhelming favourites to top the group consisting of Denmark, Peru and Australia. The runner up in this group can be any nation. I am going for Denmark to be second though due to Eriksen’s form.Prediction:FranceDenmarkPeruAustraliaGroup D:Argentina are favourites here in a group ahead of Croatia, Iceland and Nigeria. They should seal top spot in this group and Croatia should get second. Look out for Croatia though in the tournament because they can surprise teams as they have quite a good starting lineup.PredictionArgentinaCroatiaNigeriaIcelandGroup EBrazil are grouo topping favourites here. They have an amazing squad and their squad is better than the other teams in the group. Switzerland should come second due to experience.BrazilSwitzerlandSerbiaCosta RicaGroup FGermany are favourites to top this group. Their experience and quality will shine through. The battle for the remaining spot will be between Sweden and Mexico which I feel Sweden will win.PredictionGermanyMexicoSwedenKoreaGroup EBelgium vs England will decide who comes first. Belgium have the best quality and should top the group winning against England also. England should come second.BelgiumEnglandTunisiaPanama

Mexico vs Honduras predictions?

It'll likely be a draw *if* the full Honduran NT is healthy (and willing). Boniek will cause havoc in the midfield and it looks as if Bengston is returning to the team after self-imposed exile. Honduras at one point in the early rounds were down to only 15 players able to take the practice field (including many starters out) or I believe they might have done somewhat better. I would likely give a healthy Honduran squad an advantage at home.

Who will win the 2022 World Cup?

1. France : Although hard to defend the World Cup title, they have many notable young players, combined with plenty of experience.Key players : Kante, Griezmann, Pogba, Umtiti, Varane, Mbappe, and Ousmane Dembele.2. Brazil : It has been a long time since a South American nation has won the World Cup (16 years in fact.) Brazil will have a very good side by 2022 with not many players age 33+.Key players : Neymar, Coutinho, Jesus, Allison, Casemiro, Marquinhos.3. Germany : After their shocking exit from Russia from the group stage, they'll have to bounce back by the time the World Cup starts.Key players : Ter Stegen, Kroos, Sule, Kimmich, Gundogon, Goretzka, Werner4. Belgium : For the Golden Generation of Belgium, they still have a chance to win the World CupKey players : Hazard, De Bruyne, Courtois, Lukaku, Alderweireld, Tielemalens5. Spain : They will have to work hard after 3 disappointing tournaments where they were eliminated twice in the Round of 16 (Euro 2016 and World Cup 2018) and once in the group stage (World Cup 2014.)Key players : Isco, De Gea, Thiago, Saul, Koke, Rodrigo, Asensio6. Italy : Breaking their World Cup curse will be hard for Italy. New and young players will be the key to a successful Italian team.Key players : Verratti, Perin, Rugani, Insinge, Florenzi, Immoblie, Jorginho.Other nations that can cause some upsets :Sweden : Without star player Zlatan Ibrahimovic, they reached the quarter finals, losing to England.Key player : Emil ForsbergArgentina : After a poor World Cup, losing in the Round of 16, Argentina will have to rebuild as Messi will be 35 in 2022.Key player : Mauro IcardiCroatia : The runners-up in 2018, Croatia will lose some of their key players, including Modric, Rakitic, Mandzukic, Subasic, and possibly Perisic.Key player : Mateo KovacicPortugal : Without star player Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal will have a hard time causing a total upset.Key player : Bernardo SilvaNetherlands : This will be their time to finally win the World Cup after losing 3 finals and not qualifying for 2 tournaments in a row.Key player : Stephen De VrijThat is my top nations that can win the World Cup and others that can cause some upset.
