What Kind Of Ammunition Does Your

What type of ammunition does the military use in handguns?

That depends. Usually it's FMJ- like everyone else. However, aircrew tend to carry hollow points. As they're intended for hijacking prevention, rather than regular combat. We're actually supposed to switch from hollowpoints to FMJ after we land in a combat zone, and then switch back when we get ready to take off.

What ammunition does the Glock 17 use?

9mm , or 9x19mm, 9mm NATO, 9mm Luger, and the list goes on. These are all the same caliber. The Glock 17 pistol is a polymer framed pistol made is Austria. It was accepted as the Standard Pistol for the Austrian Army around that time. The original specs called for a magazine of 17 rounds. Today magazine compacity is regulated by your local government. Glock manufactures magazines that hold 30–33 rounds of ammo. (they stick out of the grip.) There are also companies that make a +2 adater that will add two rounds to any standard double stack Glock magazine. The Glock 17, 18, 19, 26, and 34 are all standard double stack 9mm handguns. The bigger magazine from a Glock 17 will fit into the smaller guns like the Glock 19, or Glock 26. The pistol has a 4.45 inch barrel as standard.Glock pistols all use a polygonal rifling. Because of the the manufacturer says do not use solid lead bullets. (jacked lead is fine.) as this could lead to a barrel failure due to unsafe pressures. As long as you are using 9mm ammo that has some sort of a jacket, IE Jacketed Hollow points, Expanding Full metal jacket, or Full metal jacket, the gun will normally digest them fine, and be very reliable.

What kind of ammunition do I need for my Winchester Ranger model 120 20 ga?

I will not be hunting anything with this gun. Just learning to use it, practicing and such. I know it is not the handiest gun for home defense but I would use it for that if need be. I bought it from a friend because it was a pretty sweet deal for me. I would prefer a handgun.

What kind of ammo does an AR-15 shoot?

No matter wher you go, you can expect to pay a minnimum of a $1000.00 for a standard A2- rifle. Your style of shooting will ultimately determine which AR15 you choose. I could go on for hours about all the differences and options you can choose but your better off googling "AR15" and researching as much as possible.
Some people like to think they are "special forces" kinda guys and end up getting one thats similiar to what a S.W.A.T. team or the F.B.I. use. Im talking about short 16 inch barrels, flat top receivers, collapsible stocks, and piccany rail handguards to mount flashlights, lasers, red dots all that kinda combat crap. Guns like that can run around 1600-2000 bucks.
I myself use my AR15 for long range sniper shooting varmits and coyotes. Nothing fancy, just a 20" barrel, standard buttstock, a bi-pod shooting rest and a long range tactical scope.
I really like the Rock River Arms AR15's. In comparing them to other brands at the gun shows it seemed to me the Rock River Arms are a little better made than Colts or Bushmasters as far as gaps go between the upper and lower receivers. Rock River Arms have the contract to manufacture Ar15's for the D.E.A.(drug enfircement agency) so that there tells you they are great guns.
Also, AR15's come in .223 / 5.56 nato , 3.08 , and 9mm
The .223 is the most common.
No matter what gun you choose be sure it has the "Wylde chambered" barrel.
That means it can shoot both .223 and 5.56 Nato rounds.

What kind of ammo should you use for a Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm?

Ammo for a SmithM and P 9mm? Its a great gun and will eat pretty much any factory round you feed it. If you are going to shoot it often enough to be proficient, I suggest you look Seller an Bellot 115 grain full metal jacket for practice ammo. If you buy it in 1000 round lots you can find it at very reasonable prices. For self defense, I suggest you use Winchester Ranger 127 grain T series plus P plus. This is the latest version of the venerable Black Talon, with better alloys. It is a hot round with superior penetration, reliable expansior, and amazing terminal velocity. If you can’t get that, I suggest Hornandy Critical Defense , Speer Gold Dot, and Cor Bon 115 grain DPX. All of these rounds will give you superior performance if you put the bullit center mass.Ammunition are similar to cars. There are a lot of high performance choices, each providing a performance option that may work best for you. My 37 years of law enforcement experience combined with an infantry combat tour has convinced me that the Ranger Lawman is a great choice if you invision the possibility that you may need to penetrate barriers such as car doors and windows or heavy winter clothing, and still deliver an incapacitating wound. Please don’t just take my word on this important topic. Read up on it and set up you own tests using a variety of mediums to shoot thru before making a final decision.

What kind of ammo does my Taurus 444 Raging Bull .44mag 8.375" take?

I just bought one of these guns online and now i need to buy some ammo that fits my gun. I need a few links or specific names or brands of ammo. I would like hollow point if possible. thanks.
--also- this is my very first handgun so please excuse my ignorance.

What kind of ammo is good for a Smith & Wesson SD9 handgun?

9mm Parabellum. That's what the gun is chambered to shoot.

You're talking about a handgun, and not a particularly high grade one at that. I know. I own the predecessor to that gun- the SW9VE Sigma. You likely won't see any major differences between brands and bullet weights.

The only thing you need to concern yourself with is reliability. Pick a brand, and put a box of 50 rounds through your handgun. If you have zero malfunctions, consider it. Buy another box, and see if you still have no malfunctions. If you can make it through four boxes, or 200 rounds, you've got a contender.
