What Kind Of Battery Chargers Do Aaa Tow Trucks Carry

How much does AAA typically charge...?

..to get your car door open when you've accidentally locked your keys in there?

I've recently been guilty of being even stupider and more embarrassing than i thought i could be. The other day I locked my car keys in my car and my boyfriend called AAA to get them out and they charged him under his name. He won't tell me how much it was even though I am keen on paying the kid back. -- Someone help me figure this out please? Thanks.

What kind of battery chargers do AAA tow trucks carry?

When a tow truck comes to jump start your car they carry their own battery chargers. I believe these are more powerful in their ampage then the ones that the auto stores sell. Is this true? What kind do they carry and where can I buy one?

STRANDED.. car battery is dead...?

I left my lights for like an hour or less i think (fell asleep) n now my car battery is like half way dead. I can turn the key towards me n listen to the radio n when i open the door it still dings. But when i try to start it it makes a really weord noise. I have an android and laptop i could hook up to my car.. Any ideas?? Thanks

If my alternator is dead, can i use jumper cables to start my car?

Yes, but you'd drain your battery in the process. If it's a short trip, you shouldn't have a problem. Your alternator is what recharges the battery, so to conserve power, don't run other things like the air conditioner or radio. The engine doesn't need a lot of power to make a spark, luckily, but before you drive off, keep the jumper cables connected for awhile and try to charge the battery as long as you can.

Who makes AAA car batteries? Are they good quality?

AAA batteries are made in Pennsylvania by a company called East Penn Manufacturing. They are guaranteed to either meet or exceed the original equipment (O.E.) cold cranking amps (which is needed to start the vehicle). They come with a warranty that out preforms any warranties in the industry today. Not to mention they warranty is good across all of north America not just the US for AAA or Canada for CAA members.

What do you do if your Tesla runs out of battery in a city with no chargers? Has this ever happened to anyone?

A Tesla and virtually all EVs can be charged from virtually any kind of electrical outlet. A Tesla comes with a plug for the standard residential outlet, and another plug that fits high current outlets that you can find at RV parks etc.If you’re paying attention it’s hard to run out of energy in a Tesla. The navigation screen shows you how much energy it takes to reach your destination and how much you’ll have left upon arrival. If it looks like you’ll run short the nav screen also shows you where Tesla’s superchargers and destination chargers are located along your route. The Plugshare app on your phone shows a multitude of chargers available in virtually all areas of the country. If you still manage to run low on energy you can dramatically extend your range simply by slowing down. Instead of driving 70 MPH drive 60 or less if feasible. If you’re running low Tesla’s nav even recommends the required speed, “Drive 65 MPH to reach your destination.”There are many more standard AC outlets in the world than there ever will be gas stations. So there are many more places to charge an EV than refuel a gas car.I now have more range anxiety when I drive a gasoline car because unlike my Tesla a gasoline car isn’t automatically full every morning.Edit: And if you really do manage to ignore all the warnings and can’t find even a standard electrical outlet nearby, you still have options. In some areas, AAA has trucks that will come give you a recharge or Tesla will arrange for a tow truck to take you to a Supercharger or other charging station.

Is AAA Membership worth it to get?

i supose i have the AAA service and got in a small accident, and they towed it all the wat to my house, so i supose

What happens if a Tesla or similar EV runs out of power on the side of the road?

When my electric motorcycle ran out of power at the side of the road I pushed it home (the charge indicator nose-dived from 7% to zero; with a second battery pack it’s more reasonable and goes to 1%).Electric cars are a bit smarter. First you have to ignore the charge and range indicators in planning your last trip stage. Then you have to ignore the beeping and “low charge” alarm. Then you have to ignore the “crawl to a charger” alarm and slow-speed mode designed to get you a few more miles, or at least to a safe place to park, and actually let the car die.So, options. You can call the auto-club for a flatbed truck. I think my car dealer even offers that as a free service, within reason. You can push the car to the nearest 120V outlet and bootstrap your way to a faster charger. Or you can flat-tow the car behind another vehicle, which will recharge the battery via regenerative braking (I’ve tried; it works).A couple of years ago I almost ran out of charge on a ski trip - the fast charger on the way was not working properly, and I forgot that going uphill affects EVs more than ICE cars (they’re more efficient, but the physics of going uphill won’t be denied). I made it to a 120V outlet before “turtle mode” kicked in, went skiing, bypassed a second out-of-order fast charger and found a level 2 station while I had a meal and went shopping.
