What Kind Of Garphics Card Can My Computer Handle

Update: Can my computer handle a new graphics card?

The GTX 950 consumes 90-100 watts while gaming. If you have the Core i5 then it would be a good idea to swap out the power supply for a 500w 80+ Bronze model. The Core i5 consumes around 30 more watts than a Core i3 CPU. A Core i5 consumes around 80-85 watts. However, it's not likely that your CPU will consume that much juice while you're gaming.

You total system power draw would be below 300w so you should be able to use the GTX 950. However, you are cutting it close. The addition of the graphics card will cause your power supply to run hotter. Heat kills power supplies. When a power supply runs too hot it wastes electricity. Hence, the 80+ certification that is on Name Brand power supplies like EVGA, Corsair, XFX, and Seasonic..

If you have 2 graphics cards and 1 computer, how can you use them at the same time?

As long as you have two slots to take the cards, you can install two video cards. If you want to do SLI/Crossfire, then they’ll need to be a matching pair (at least the same model, not necessarily the same manufacturer) and have the connectors to do this. (Cheap cards don’t.)If you have two slots but cards that don’t do SLI/Crossfire, then you can still run both. They’ll just have to drive separate monitors, and the maximum framerate won’t increase. You’ll just be able to drive 3D graphics to both displays at once, which frankly is rarely necessary. This can be a good, cheap way to drive a Wall O’Displays as I do, though. I highly recommend that they be of similar generations to minimize driver issues, but it is possible to get two rather dissimilar cards to operate at the same time (I had a 9500GT and GT610 at the same time, but driver updates always broke things and I’d have to pull the 9500GT for the update and then put it back in).If you only have one PCIe x16 slot, but do have other slots, then the options become much more limited. There are PCI and PCIe x1 video cards, but they’re going to be quite poor by comparison due to the limited bandwidth between CPU and video card. Forget SLI/Crossfire.If you have no available slots at all, you’re stuck with USB dongles. Again, forget any sort of SLI or Crossfire, but you can still drive more monitors than your video card currently supports. However, it may well be better to replace your video card with one that handles more than two monitors simultaneously, and upgrade the speed at the same time, because these suck for 3D and in some cases even for video.

What kind of garphics card can my computer handle?

The graphics card would indeed fit. :) And to do software wise, it would be to use the control panel, and uninstall the old driver from Nvidia, and install the new AMD Catalyst driver. HOWEVER, you problem comes with POWERING it! So while it will fit in your case, and plug into your motherboard, and the software is compatible, the problem comes that your powersupply is too small (only 300W, needs to be more like 430W or higher), and you don't have the proper power plugins for it on your PSU (your old one requires no power plug if I'm right, but the new one will need at least a 6-pin power connector.) Therefore, to put that card in there, you need a new PSU (Power Supply Unit). So no, its not as fast of an upgrade as plug n play. However, ive done it plenty of times, and worth the time, especially in your case, for the upgrade to a new GPU :)

Can my CPU handle my new graphics card?

hi so im looking to buy a new GPU but im not sure if i need to upgrade my CPU too. I have an AMD FX(tm)-4300 quad core processor. What would that be in equivalence to an intel. would it be equivelent to an i5,i3,i7. Most detailed answer gets best answer.

I need a computer that can handle light gaming (League of Legends mainly) but also school work (college). What is an affordable option?

League of Legends is fairly light on requirements, basically a new-ish PC with a dedicated graphics card can manage it. 8 GB of RAM and a graphics card with more than 1 GB of RAM should manage. Most college-related programs should not be too heavy either, unless you are studying something like architecture where you need a specialized software to generate and manipulate huge images. Get a relatively new processor, 8+ RAM and a passable graphics card (Nvidia 1050 or RX 4/560 or better - as a rule of thumb, anything from an older generation is equal to the next lower quality model of the new generation). A laptop is generally not the best for gaming, but it can work for something light like League, Overwatch etc and is fairly convenient if you are a student as you can bring it to lectures, the library etc. Alternatively, get a cheap, decent tablet with a keyboard or Chromebook for that and a budget PC for your room, where you might do your gaming and the more serious work. The price might end up being about the same, as laptops tend to cost more than desktop PCs for the same performance. You can check Newegg and other similar sites for offers.Just one big tip about League: use a LAN cable if at all possible. LoL might be light on hardware requirements, but it needs a very stable connection or you will get familiar with the dreaded Leaverbuster very quickly.

What kind of graphics card can I get for my motherboard+power supply?

My mother board is: Hewlett-Packard 3047h (XU1 PROCESSOR)
300 watt power supply. I'm looking for something in the 120 range. Something for light gaming. I understand my limitations. Was planning on getting the MSI ATI Radeon HD6450 1 GB but I dont know if my motherboard can handle it.
Photo has a list of my slots.
Thank you.

What graphics card can my HP Pavilion P6-2107c handle?

I bought this computer less than a year ago and its been amazing. I recently started using it more for gaming and i was thinking about upgrading my graphics card. I was thinking about buy a GTX 560 TI but i didn't know if my PC could handle it, which I'm concerned of because my friend fried his computer a couple weeks ago because his power supply couldn't handle it. Just wondering because tired of having to wonder if my computer can run games.
