lol, don't listen to the other people and their iPhones and Chocolates You text a lot as you said, and you mentioned the Sidekick, so you're probably with T-Mobile. Go with the SideKick. If you didn't all that much texting, maybe iPhone, but you are a HEAVY texter and need a phone that will satisfy ever one of those hundreds of texts. And the SideKick has everything you want, full qwerty keyboard, and all that. the iPhone has a decent virtual keyboard, but it is not for the texter. So, go with the Sidekick, its a good phone. Don't listen to anybody here, Ive been researching smartphones for a long time now and I know all operating systems like the back of my hand. I can tell you right now the best phone for your money is the galaxy s4 hands down. The reason I say this is #1- much much much better screen than the iPhone 5 and bigger too. And unlike the comment below me said they do not get burn ins #2- the processor is the best on the market it's quad core while the iphone is still on dual core #3- better camera on the s4 I've done comparisons myself #4- the software is lag free and in my opinion is light years ahead of apple's iOS. #5- the abundance of features #6- overall just plain snappier and more intuitive I have the iPhone 5, iPhone 4, and the galaxy s3 and s4 along with the HTC one. I would recommend the HTC one but that is not on Verizon. Regardless the galaxy s4 is miles ahead of the iPhone and you also have an iPod 4 which does everything an iPhone can do besides call and text. Trust me on this one:)

Straight Talk allows you to use any of the 4 US carriers (you have to have a phone for that carrier, though), so once you decide which carrier gives you coverage in the areas in which you need coverage (that’s the first thing to figure out for any cell phone), get a phone for that carrier for Straight Talk - they’re $45/month for unlimited talk and text. And, if in the future, you decide that a different carrier will give you better coverage, sell the phone, get one on the new carrier and have your account switched over. (Although, with Google Voice, that’s not so important any more - I just use my Google Voice number, regardless of carrier or if I want someone calling me at home - that one number rings all my phones, and it always will, even if I change a phone number.)

It wasn’t the best of phones, but it was okay. I got that phone because I was also taking care of my grades, but I didn’t get a very good one because my sister was already the one who was most responsible.The most mature sibling gets the best phone, I guess.You could pick a flip phone or you could get something a little better. It doesn’t have to be an expensive brand, just something to be comfortable with. As I said before, it should depend on what they would use the phone for.
