What Kind Of Tablet Or Device Would You Recommend

Have you replaced the screen on your tablet, would you recommend trying it or taking it somewhere?

I suggest you go here - Repair Manuals for Every ThingThey have repair manuals, and in many cases parts required to repair most tablets, cell phones, laptops, and other electronic devices.

Which tablet operating system would you recommend and why?

It all comes down to what you’re hoping to do with the device. Consider this, I’m the IT person for my company; construction firm. Our installers have iPads, Superintendents have Windows Tablets, and the project managers have a mix of both. The installers are getting emails and updated plans throughout the day. They don’t need a lot of processing power, they don’t need various apps, they need simplicity and a lot of battery during stand-by. So the iPad was the best investment for them. Because I have installers who speak English, Spanish, French, and 3 other languages, I can hand them devices that are stupid easy for them to figure out. And that may sound insulting, but as a tech savvy person, I feel it’s best to describe Apple products as mindlessly easy. I can also lock the devices so I don’t have to worry about them installing rogue apps or things of the sort. The Superintendents have Windows tablets because they’re utilizing spreadsheets, remotely access plans from FTP servers, as well as monitoring other things through programs that simply work best on a Windows interface. The same can be said about the project managers. Plus when you add the keyboard and the ability to sit the tablet on a table and use it as a laptop makes things even easier. Now you’re probably saying “iPads can do all that”. Mostly, yes. The problem is that I invest in rugged cases and I was only able to find the features I needed and trust I wanted with Windows cases. As it was virtually a fair split between the two devices, accessories were the deciding factor. So it really all comes down to how you plan on using the device. If you’re looking for something stupidly easy to surf the web and watch movies, you want an iPad. If you want more customizability and a Windows interface, grab a Windows tablet. If you’re looking to do work, I’ve found it far easier to get things done with a Windows tablet than iPad. But again, this is my 2 cents. There’s no wrong answer, but simply it’s what’s right for you.If you’re truly unsure, grab a piece of paper and list out what you want in a device. List them in order of importance. Next list the pros and cons how YOU see it for each device. Then take the pros and cons for each device and value them up in respect to the first general list you made. The product with the best number wins. This list can include price, size, customization, weight, accessories, compatibility with applications, compatibility with other things you own, Bluetooth, and so on.

Do you recommend biking in college?

Yes. College is expensive enough without adding the cost of buying, maintaining and parking a car. Most college towns have decent bike infrastructure and a reasonable amount of bike awareness, due to all the students riding. Get a decent, but not horribly expenssive bike, no department store specials. Then get a very large lock for it and lock it up EVERY SINGLE TIME IT IS NOT IN YOUR GRASP. A rack or basket is handy but a backpack will do the job carrying your books and supplies. Get lights if you will be riding in the dark.

What stylus pen would you recommend? I don't have a tablet, but I do have an Android phone. Will that affect the performance of the pen?

Just about any of the conductive pens will work fine with your phone. I use one with both my kindle and windows phone. there shouldn’t be any problems with the pen itself, but you may want to look at one with an fine point or with interchangeable tips. Some of the pens have a very broad head which are ideal for tablets etc, but may prove too large for the smaller icons on phones.https://www.amazon.co.uk/Univers...https://www.amazon.co.uk/Stylus-...

Why do i need a sim card for my tablet device?

I just bought a Huawei ideos s7 tablet and there is a slot for a SIM card? Why would i need or want to purchase one? Im not using it for any cellular usage. Just for browsing the internet.

Which tablet do you recommend for someone who does casual things like watch movies or browse the web, iPad Pro late 2018 or Surface Pro 6?

As a guy who owns both the iPad Pro 2018 and a Surface Pro 5 (primary difference being an earlier generation CPU and no black option), I would definitely say “Surface Pro”.I love my iPad Pro, but I’m using it as a supplement to my laptop rather than a laptop replacement. As it should be.The SP6 offers a full Windows ecosystem that allows you to run the full array of software that you can run on any desktop.Meanwhile, iOS offers often watered-down apps that while still good, is not quite on par with Windows for regular work purposes. Not to mention iOS’s lack of mouse-support is a glaring flaw. It gets tiresome quickly when you have to reach over to tap the screen for the 50th time while you’re trying to get work done.

What kind of tablet should I get?

Hi, Tiffany—Reading your specifications, the ideal tablet is the Microsoft SurfacePro. At least until I hit the under $150 USD requirement. Not sure if there exists a reliable tablet at that price. There isn’t even a decent e-reader for US150.00 much less a Win10 tablet that will run the apps you outline.Suggest the closest you might get is to watch your local craigslist and hope you get lucky.

What Mobile device(s) would be right for me?

What device(s) would be right for me?
Do I need a full fledged tablet computer or small laptop? Or something like Amazon’s Kindle Fire? A good quality smartphone and plan?
I am trying to go paperless and as clutter free as possible.
I have a home Windows 7 PC.
I would only use a cell phone In an emergency or rare occasion. I am not one that has it glued to my ear 24/7 365. On the other hand, a phone would be nice to have in those instances when needed.
I normally don’t text. I don’t do a lot of social networking ( I know, I am old fashioned)
I like the size of a tablet/pad rather that a smart phone.
Want something that can browse the web in an unlimited way, with flash.
I would want something I can store documents that have been scanned in on.
I would want something with email access. Preferably Outlook, but would be satisfied with web based mail.
I want to be able to use it as an organization system. That is, keep track of appointments, tasks, daily schedule, etc (again, pref sync via outlook).
Would love if it were compatible with all Windows office applications.
I would use it as an mp3 and media player.
I would use it as an e-reader .
Must have good storage capacity as my entire life would essentially be on this thing. Must be really reliable.
Must be user friendly for a non tech savvy person such as myself. Okay – nearly idiot proof for me.
I don’t want something that will go obsolete in less than 2-3 years.

I know I am probably asking the impossible to find one with everything I want.
Just thought I would throw it out there for assistance and opinions. I am so confused by all the features and choices these days!
