What do you think of when you hear the name?

First of all, I am really sad to see you go, I have always love answering your questions, getting your answers on my questions and I love your baby name taste. No matter what "her" (fingers crossed) name will be beautiful and classy.

I love the name Tessa it is in my top five favorite girl names, I have recently fallen in love with Tessa Jasmine. I love the nickname Tess. I think that Tessa is a unique, beautiful and very feminine name. I think that the name Tessa is versatile enough to where I can picture a blonde hair blue eyed porcelain girl or a dark haired beauty. What a can't picture when I think of the name Tessa is someone that is sad or gloomy. I think that Tessa would be outgoing but sweet, honest but tactful and not afraid to be herself. I also think this name would age flawlessly.

I looked up Tessa on www.flickr.com here are some pictures of girls named Tessa

What do you think of when you hear the names Lila, Jade, and Kira?

Lila - A nice, quiet girl who is easily pushed around. Loyal to those she cares about. Very smart and beautiful but doesn't know it.

Jade - Extremely scary and sketchy girl. Violent. Never fits in. No one likes her because shes clingy and threatning. Criminal record. Kind of a freak.

Kira - Pale, redheaded girl. Very quick to say what she's feeling and doesn't care what anyone thinks. Strong and independent. She comes off as selfish and only cares about herself, but she has a good heart.

I like Kira and Lila. I associate Jade with a bad person.

What do you think of when you hear these boy names?

I have to confess to being a bit traditional and having a prejudice against any names that started out life as surnames - so Brady and Ashton are both out as far as I am concerned. Equally I am not keen on made-up names like Braylen.

Noah is a good traditional name, and my only concern about it is that naming a child after a biblical hero who saved life on earth might set unreasonable expectations! :-))

So overall, I would go with either Alexander Christian, or Christian Alexander - depending on whether either configuration creates abbreviation problems with your surname (e.g. Alexander Christian Edwards = ACE or Christian Alexander Davies = CAD)

By the way, given that the Brady Bunch was only made between 1969 and 1974, and is still mentioned as a potential issue some 34 years later, might indicate that the association will still be around by the time your son gets to school.

Good luck!

What do you think of when you hear the name Jasmine?

This girl that I absolutly despised in high school. She messed with guys heads. But besides her, I think of a golden bracelet with a demin jackey and a cat...

Thank you for the A2a.I looked up the meanings, and they are lovely, strong names. However, several people have described some concerns and opinions that are worth considering, particularly about the fact that the order of the two names puts two “ah” sounds together. For me, reversing the first two names doesn’t quite work either, but that’s a personal feeling.Someone has said that the question of initials is “a thing of the past” because we don’t engrave our silverware anymore etc. but I disagree - not about the silver, but about the irrelevance. My initials are S.A.S. and it didn’t take a monogrammed pillowcase for some brilliant classmate to figure out what it would spell if the A came before the other two instead of in between. Dismally un-clever and tiresome, but what do you expect from a pre-teen? Because of that experience I immediately thought about the initials in your proposed name, and realised they would be R.A.K., likely to be pronounced “rack” by anyone who wanted to say it. Depending on where you live and your child’s luck in classmates, this might never come to anything, but do please think about the fact that in addition to its regular meaning, the word rack has the slang meaning (among others) of women’s breasts (usually combined with the word “big”).Best wishes for life with your new sweetling.
