Gaining weight after eating disorder?

Try these basic tips for weight management and a healthy lifestyle:

1. Change your eating habits so that you eat a balance of fresh fruits
and vegetables, low-fat dairy products and lean meat (chicken or fish
are the lightest sources). Choose complex carbohydrates, such as whole
grain breads and high fibre cereals as opposed to bleached flour
products like white bread.
2. Do aerobic exercise such as walking, running, swimming or cycling
regularly. This will increase muscle tone and burn calories. Even
developing a simple, healthy habit like walking to the train every day
instead of taking the bus, can make a difference in how you look and
feel.
3. Eat a healthy breakfast every morning. Smart, energy-packed choices
include bran, bananas, orange juice, porridge, muesli or low-fat
yoghurt.
4. Swap low-fat milk for semi-skimmed milk and focus on other
low-calorie foods.
5. Plan your meals in advance so you don't eat fast food on the run or
fill up on high-calorie snacks.
6. Don't eat meat more than once a day. Fish and poultry are recommended
over red or processed meats because they are less fattening.
7. Avoid fried foods, which absorb fat from cooking oils. Also, food
tends to lose more of their nutritional value when fried. Instead,
bake, broil or grill food. In the case of vegetables, lightly steam
them.
8. Drink alcohol in moderation.
Eat fibre-rich foods such as leafy green vegetables, fruit, beans,
bran flakes, roots and whole grains. These will fill you up and keep
your digestive system healthy.
9. Choose fresh fruits for puddings and snacks.
10. Keep your portions small.
11. Watch your weight, but only weigh yourself once a week as the numbers
on the scale may fluctuate slightly on a day-to-day basis. Also, gauge
your target weight by how you feel and how your clothes fit rather
than by what the scales say.
12. Don't panic if you put on weight. Think about what could have caused
the gain and amend your diet accordingly.

How to stop restricting food without gaining the weight back?

Let's see, first of all; it's okay to restrict calories but not to 600-700 that's extremly dangerous and even though you're losing weight now, you will reach a point where you stop, because not only are you putting your body in a starvation mood, but by limiting your calories THAT much your metabolic rate slows down, which is not something you want if you wanna lose the weight.
I would recommend that you increase your calories GRADUALLY so that your body doesn't feel overwhelmed and starts storing food as fat. But whatever you do just make sure that you're eating healthy food and not "empty calories", calories you get by eating junk food that is.
Also, if you've reached that point where you're comfortable at your workouts, then you should increase the intensity a bit , because as long as you're comfortable , nothing will change.
I hope that was helpful (:

Does eating a lot of rice help you lose weight or make you gain weight?

generally eating a lot of rice would make you gain weightt because its carbohydrates. but the reason why asian people are all so small and thin is not mainly because of that- its because they eat good food like fresh vegetables, seafoods, lean meats - and hardly any deep fried foods, sweets or prepackaged foods.
Thats really not the case in the U.S. , only in asian countries, every one in every race is and can be fat here- very sad actually

Can you lose weight and still eat anything you want?

Absolutely. It's not the most healthy way to diet, but one method to control portion sizes is to drink a large glass of water before each meal. It'll make you feel more full sooner and it doesn't really cost anything or take a lot of effort. Oh, and the biggest factor in weight loss is not usually diet, but lifestyle. If your lifestyle is active enough that you're going to burn off the calories you consume and then a little more, you'll lose weight, regardless of what you're eating. The catch is, you're going to be more inclined to have such a lifestyle if your foods are nutrient rich. Fortunately, you're in college and more than capable of managing your own meals. Don't just eat whatever your parents pick up if it's worth it to you to throw together something healthier. There are dozens of quick, cheap healthy meals out there, so find a few of your favorites, and put them to use each time your family isn't eating as nutritiously as you'd like.

Why do I gain weight after eating?

Depending on the food you eat there are a few things that could happen to cause immediate scale weight gain:Carbs: Any time you have a meal with a substantial amount of carbs, your muscles fill up with glycogen causing you to gain a little bit of scale weight. This doesn’t mean you have an increase in body fat. But this will cause the scale to go up.On the flip side of that, when someone starts a low carb diet, the glycogen in their muscles will be depleted, causing them to lose weight.Sodium: When you eat foods that contain a substantial amount of sodium (salty foods), this causes you to retain water. With this extra retention of water, the scale will go up. This doesn’t mean an increase in body fat though. Just a momentary increase in scale weight.Food and water have weight: While food is digested and you have additional water in your body, the weight of those items is added to your weight. Again, that doesn’t mean you gained body fat. When you wake up the next morning, your scale weight is a better determinant of your weight because there are not many as many outside factors that could impact the scale weight.Hope that helps!-Patrick
