What's a good DIY method to make a dream catcher?

There are many youtube videos and Pinterest tutorials available for you to watch to show you how to make a dreamcatcher. Dreamcatchers can go from being very simple to being very intricate and complex. The most important thing to focus on is that there is a hole in the middle for the positive dreams to go through and feathers for the dreams to slip down to go to you while you sleep. Below is a Pinterest tutorial that I think will help you with your project. Happy Dreaming! The Journey Junkie

Why would Holden Caulfield in catcher in the rye make a good catcher in the rye?

The Catcher in the Rye is a 1951 novel by J. D. Salinger.

What are some recommendations for good catcher's gear?

As a catcher of 10 years, I don't really recommend buying online, or any specific model or any brand. It really is up to the person in question. I recommend going to the store and trying on the gear there before buying, as there are huge sizing differences between brands. For example, Mizuno gear runs much bigger than Louisville or Easton. Some gear sets may make it difficult for the catcher to squat if they are too long or too short, while others may be too wide or narrow. Some catchers, like myself, prefer some extra padding so that blocking is less hard on the knees. I've never used that particular set of gear, and there are no good pictures for me to tell how padded the shin guards are, but it's a good brand and seems ok from what I can tell. Even if you decide not to buy in store, you should go and try on some gear. Take the measurements of the gear your daughter liked best, that way you know around what size to get when ordering online. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! With any softball equipment, though, I usually say go try it on and go with what feels best. What's great for me may not be as good for you.

Why are baseball catchers poor hitters?

I wouldn’t say that catchers are poor hitters. There is simply a lower bar for good catchers hitting wise.Catcher is the most important defensive position on the field. I don’t include pitcher because they are not considered position players. The catcher is the captain on the field, whether he officially wears that title or not. He is the liaison between the coaching staff and the fielders. He studies and identifies strengths and weaknesses of opposing batters, then guides the pitcher through an effective game plan. He reads the batters reactions to pitches, and determines how to attack them.He is the only player who has a full view of the field. He sees what everyone is doing. He’s the signal caller for situational defensive plays. And, he works to shut down the opposition’s running game. He will also call out responsibilities for each defensive player during live game play. The catcher has A LOT to do, both during and between games. A team’s entire defense is dependent upon the catcher’s abilities. If he doesn’t have the cognitive abilities, work ethic, knowledge, and quick decision making skills, the team will not win.So when a baseball team finds a catcher who has ALL of these skills, the ability to be an average hitter is just icing on the cake. If he is above average at the plate, he may become a hall of famer. I liken this to a Football Quarterback who can’t run. If he has all the other tools to lead his team, the athleticism becomes unimportant.I will say however, that there are rare occasions where catchers are such good hitters that they will play the position despite being poor defensively. Mike Piazza is an example of such a catcher. In the American League they will usually be converted to a DH, and replaced by a defensive catcher. In the NL, a team will typically try to move them to another position if at all possible. Gary Sanchez of the Yankees is another catcher who may not stay back there if he doesn’t improve with the glove. Unlike Piazza however, he DOES have the ability to throw out runners, so the Yankees will likely give him more time to develop.

Holden Caulfield (Catcher in the Rye)?

I have to write a paragraph for each of these:

1) Holden's personality
2) Holden's Attitude toward Life
3) Holden's Attitude toward people.
4) Things that are important to Holden

To be honest, I don't really get the difference between "attitude toward life," "attitude toward people," and "personality." don't they all come down to the same thing--that Holden is isolated, cynical and judgmental, lying yet caring, and finding the adult world around him "phony."

Please help.

Why is The Catcher in the Rye considered a great book?

I’m not sure how “relevant” The Catcher in the Rye is in terms of coming-of-age today - but then, I’m not sure Huckleberry Finn is “relevant” in that sense; it’s still a classic of American literature. To Kill a Mockingbird is based on themes of social injustice, prejudice, the loss of innocence: it’s a coming-of-age experience from Scout’s point-of-view. How relevant is her story to that of pre-teens / teenagers in the 2000s?From the perspective of the 21st century, I think Catcher in the Rye captures a slice of the ‘50s, showing some of the murk below the golden haze of the Eisenhower years. That it also portrays some of what the turbulent teen years could be like in that era gives it a sharp focus, IMHO.The book was published the year before I was born, so I can’t say that Holden Caulfield was representative of “my” generation. But the characteristics of teen angst - turmoil, chaos, inner conflicts, that feeling of being on the edge of understanding but not quite being there - are timeless. In my day, sonny / missy, no one was going to assign this book in English class: they forbade us to read it. M’Gawd, there’s actual vulgar language. It portrays children - well, teenagers, who being minors are technically children - swearing and using obscenities. It even features a scene with the F word!So we passed around a couple of battered paperbacks lifted from older siblings who, having gone to the ivory towers of academe, could buy it outright. Reading about a protagonist who said things we might’ve thought but never had the nerve to say aloud was a sheer delight. We rode along through the highs (the joy of Phoebe) and the lows (the agony of alienation). There was no teacher to guide us through the literary elements, no professor to help us analyze “what it really means.” We didn’t need anyone to tell us. We identified. We understood. Holden spoke to us.To this day my best friend from school and I (we are both 64) quote references back and forth. I doubt there’s another such book we soaked up half so well.N.B.: I seriously considered posting this answer a month down the road, on the off-chance that someone is working on (ahem) an assignment. Don’t crib my stuff. I know your instructor. But thanx for the A2A. ;-)
