What Motivates You To Study

What motivates you to study?

I want to be a chemist, and I want to do research.
I can't picture myself doing anything else with my life.

To reach my ultimate goal, I need to go to grad school.
To get into grad school, I need good grades.
To get good grades, I need to study until I'm sure I'm doing my best work.

If I do not study, I am half-a**ing my attempts to achieve my future goals. That's a really stupid idea, if you ask me.

I do have other reasons, though:

I am paying for school. Admittedly, I am doing this with quite a bit of of help from the government because I come from a poor family. Refusing to study, which translates into refusing to TRY, is a massive waste of a lot of things- My time, my money, taxpayer money, and a space at the school that somebody else with more drive and enthusiasm could have taken. I do NOT like to waste things.

I do have a bit of a competitive streak. I don't have to be THE BEST, but I'm always trying to beat my own scores. If I get a 3.5 one semester, I try to one-up myself the next. The goal I'm always reaching for, of course, is that 4.0.

Studying is genuinely fun and rewarding for me. I like feeling like I know something, as well as the feeling that comes with remembering material I haven't seen in a while. I like helping people who are struggling in a class I've already completed feel the same way I did when it clicked. :-)

I think it's unrealistic (and a disappointment) to go to college expecting to learn through osmosis. Come on... really? Sitting in class, doing the bare minimum on assignments, taking the tests, and putting in no effort outside of what's required to pass does not make good scientists, teachers, writers, engineers, psychologists, historians, or any other type of professional you could think of. Craving knowledge and understanding as if it were chocolate, however, will.

What motivates you to study hard??

Haha, I wish I got presents for doing well.

I study hard because I afraid of ending up like my friends who don't. The more education you have, the better job you will be able to get, and you will lead a much better life. It usually good to have something to study for. In high school, you should study to get into a good college. In college you should study for a good job or grad school.

What motivates you to study The Bible?

A hunger to know the Lord and to understand Him through His Word. Although the Bible is filled with wisdom and many answers to life’s dilemma’s, the best thing about the Word of God is it teaches us how to engage and interact with God Himself. It reveals the mind and heart of who He really is and shows us His ways as His ways are not like our (mortal) ways. As stated in the book of Isaiah:Isaiah 55:8–9 - “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”As we learn His ways (as opposed to ours) through the Word of God, this helps us to relate to Him and we, like children learn how to “fellowship” with God through Jesus Christ. The Bible is God’s written instruction manual on how to “walk” with him.2 Timothy 3:16 - (Amplified Bible) - All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]Hope that helped!

What motivates you to do well at your studies?

I am normally a very motivated person and I always strive to do well in my studies and go get the best grades possible, but there are times when I feel lazy and I just want to watch tele and stuff my face with sweeties and that is normal because we are humans and we have days when we feel like this, but it is important to over-come that and work hard in life because it's not easy.

What mainly motivates me to do well in my studies is fear. I am very scared that I will be thrown out of university if I don't do well in my studies and this is true. If I don't do well and don't pass with 40%+ in every one of my modules then I will be thrown out of university and that is scary because then I don't know what I will do with my life and where it will go next. I do have a plan B in-case plan A doesn't work out because it might not (you never know and it's always good to have that back-up) but I want plan A to work because it's my dream and has been my dream for a very long time and I can't see myself doing anything else, especially since I thought and worked hard to get this far and failing and/or giving up is not an option. I guess fear is a good thing because if you fear fear then you will do everything to beat it and it will challenge you and it pushes you to work hard not to go through that and it's a good thing as it's pushing me.

I am also motivated by my future plans. I have made a list of realistic life-goal life long dreams that I want to achieve and I can achieve them if I work hard and try my best in school and I want to achieve them and I don't want to be one of those people that has never does what makes them happy in life or never gets anything out if it. Having life long dreams helps you to stay motivated as you have a calling and you have found your point and your focus, and this pushes you to work hard and to stay focus and motivated. I also think about all the things I want in life - marriage, houses, cars, holidays, nice things and children and to give my family a nice life which has to be achieved by myself working hard and gaining promotions.

Just think about what you want out in life and tell yourself that even though it's hard work it will all be worth it and when you accomplish your dreams you can celebrate, it feels so good and everybody will be so proud of you and you will feel like you are on cloud nine with the stars and walking on the moon :3 good luck xoxo

Underline major points in your notes.
Get together study groups to review before tests.
Pay special attention to the first and last five minutes of the class.
Ask questions if you don’t understand.
Several shorter study periods are better than one long one.
Breakup large assignments into a number of small tasks.
Get a good night’s rest before an exam.
Read through the entire exam before beginning.
Answer the easiest questions first.
Pace yourself to allow adequate time for each question
Type up notes as soon as possible.
