What Movie/show Is This From Things I Know To Be True

Which movie shows you something about society that you didn't know before, and what was your reaction after watching it?

It's Fight club !Society is full of people. There are people who will help you, who will criticise you, who will just chat with you, who will go on talk about their miserable life and those who will just exist !But …. …Everybody has the same rush hidden inside them. Everyone want to have excitement in life because that's what brings happiness; And Fight Club showed that without hesitation, straightforward on face. Tells you a crazy story of how a schizophrenic single person started a whole secret society filled with common people whose only task is to create chaos. Office people, shopowners, business men, jobless people all of them in a single “fight club” whose first two rules goes like :First rule of Fight Club : You do not talk about fight club.Second rule of Fight club : follow the first rule. Now, A society like that why people will join … just to fight someone … no man, come on there are a lot of people to fight in life, for that you don't need to come to fight club, for example take you home.. fight with parents, fight with relatives, fight with wife/husband ( literally ), fight with him/herself.So, what brought those people to fight club , such that just to get a entry they did terrible hard work, seems more than job interviews or entrance exams. That's exactly the other “hidden” side of society. That's the part that tells you why such a crazy, “all dancing all singing crap space-monkey” movie Fight Club has a meaning much more subtle that few people realise … ironically that passion about finding the other side already lies deep inside themselves. And maybe Durden finally gives a hint :“It is only when we lose everything, we are free to do anything !”It still may not be clear what new about society it tells, that brings you to the second question .. what was my reaction after seeing the movie and realising some part of it :What the hell ?What the f*** is going on ?WOW !You got to be kidding me !…….…Now, that's it ….. The Society is full of crazy people, no all people are crazy inside. There is a hidden layer of pseudo-show off that keeps the craziness hidden under the carpet. But once it gets unleashed, it becomes free !We become truly free… then there won't be all those kinds of people who does this staff and that staff !There will be a single uniting society who has nothing to hide from each other and can have all the fun togather( Just dont blast away banks and cities like they did in Fight Club ! That's crazy ! )Let's make a Fight Club !

Is true love anything like they show in the movies?

Yes and no,that is confusing I know but through many personal mistakes I can honestly say what works and what doesn't. The main thing is that you all accept each other for the good and the bad . Know that an open mind and a willingness to be each other'sbest friend should be first and foremost always . The respect is most important. Then savor every moment together and apart. Trust is also important. Never create problems that don't exist meaning don't assume that there is a problem or therefuse will become a problem.don't speak into existence what you do not want. Just focus on what you both want and enjoy life together. I guess I summed it up.make your own story don't expect it to be a carbon copy of an existing movie. Don't expect the other person to read your mind. Everyone has their own love language. So make your own love story it will be better than an existing Hollywood movie:)

Is it true that there are perverted things in the disney movies?

I have heard that in the lion kind when Mufassa dies it says "sex" in the dust if you pause it and on the little mermaid the towers on the castle look like a penis and in Aaldin if you turn the volume up really high when Jasmine jumps on Aladin there is a voice in the background that says something crude. Anyways, has anyone ever heard any of this? I guess in the newer versions of the movies thay have taken it out so it has to be an old one.

Remember tv show "You know my name is Simon, and the things I draw come true?"?

In the US it was a segment on Captain Kangaroo. I believe it originated in the UK, though. Here are some videos online: http://broszkowski.com/tv/simonintheland...

There was a book from 1969 called "Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings" by Edward McLachlan (ISBN 0695880071). Used copies are pretty expensive, but are available: http://www.amazon.com/Simon-chalk-drawin...

Also, I discovered that a new DVD came out in 2006 from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation called "Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings: The Little Tornado" and has these episodes: Calendar chaos -- The lonely snake -- The little tornado -- Simon and the snowman -- The tac toe-- The carnival-- The magician -- Mask-erade. I'm trying to see if this is available for order anywhere -- it is in PAL format, though, not the NTSC needed for those in the US. ***HERE is where you can order it, if you are so inclined: http://www.dvdvideo.co.nz/shop/product_i... Remember, you'll probably have to have it converted to NTSC format (you can find freeware online to do this), but it MAY play on a DVD-ROM player on your computer without having to be converted. Also, some sellers on ebay have this, too: http://search.ebay.com/simon-in-the-land-of-chalk_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQfromZR40

You might look into the more recent Nickelodeon series called "ChalkZone," too. I don't think it's on anymore, but you may be able to find it somewhere. Read more here: http://encycl.opentopia.com/term/ChalkZone and here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChalkZone (there's some info in here about DVDs that have some episodes).

Have fun!

What are some things that happen in real life but not in movies?

The boy stares at the girl. The girl stares at the boy. VOILA ! They are in love ( with a loooooong staring scene in between)If this would have actually been true, there would have hardly been in any singles in this world.Jokes aside, if somebody would have tried to do this in real life, it would be creepy and the person would have most likely ended up with a slap on his face.A person is saved just when he/she is going to die.In a movie, a person will get kidnapped by someone else, tortured and just when the human is about is about to die , the hero jumps into the scene. Lands a few punches and some kicks and then finally proceeds to kill the villain in an over dramatic scene. The hero can easily land a few punches and kicks without anything happening to him or herThis is something that most people actually believe they can do.Punching somebody and kicking somebody is going to be very difficult unless you are practicing martial arts. You don’t just punch somebody on their face without anything happening to your wrist. Chances are that instead of them falling over in pain , it is YOU who will end up moaning with pain. The hand is actually very fragile. When you hit somebody’s face, you are hitting one of the hardest parts of their body. I will leave it up to you guys to decide what happens when somebody punches somebody.

How realistic is hacking that is shown in movies and TV shows compared to real life hacking?

Not at all.First and foremost, a hacking task takes days if not months. It involves a large array of different technologies, infrastructure and people, although it can be possibly done by a single, dedicated hacker.Second, it’s not all done through the terminal. Scripts are not magic. A hacker has to manually test them, verify the, adjust them, a lot of this is done in the web browser and other tools like debuggers, all of which are GUI tools and not a terminal.Once everything is done and a reliable exploit is generated and tested, then yes, the hacker can access it via terminal. But it doesn’t start from the terminal most of the time, unless it’s a very trivial job.Third, a high-level hacking job costs a lot of money. It’s not just the hacker’s time, it’s also the infrastructure that a hacker has built over a span of years, most of which will burn down after a high level job, as well as all the exploits that a hacker has procured for his arsenal.Fourth, ‘breaking into their firewall’ is a term no hacker will ever use today. Firewalls were the security mechanism of 1990s, and are no longer the only method.Fifth, for a single virus to be able to break into every system, is simply impossible.A virus that can break into all Windows boxes will probably be worth 2 to 4 million dollars. A virus that can break into all Mac boxes will be worth 1 to 2 million dollars. A virus that can break into all iPhones will be worth 5 million dollars. However, a virus that can do all of the above, is not worth the cumulative sum of these numbers, but is probably worth 10–20 times that amount. That means a virus that can hack all iPhones, Windowses and Macs, will be worth ~100 million dollars. Now why would anyone create and use that virus in the first place? It’s simply not cost effective.Last but not least, hacktivist groups such as anonymous are usually comprised of a lot of low level hackers. Obviously these hackers can bring down large systems after a lot of effort, but they are unable to pull of technical jobs. It’s simply untrue that a group of teenage boys or college computer students can do whatever they want in hacking, even if they put all their minds to it.

Is the movie "The Godmakers" true or false? How can you know if it's true?

"The film does not - in our opinion - fairly portray the Mormon Church, Mormon history, or Mormon belief. It makes extensive use of "half-truth," faulty generalizations, erroneous interpretations, and sensationalism. It is not reflective of the genuine spirit of the Mormon faith.
We find particularly offensive the emphasis in the film that Mormonism is some sort of subversive plot - a danger to the community, a threat to the institution of marriage, and is destructive to the mental health of teenagers. All of our experience with our Mormon neighbors provides eloquent refutation of these charges.
We are of the opinion that The Godmakers relies heavily on appeals to fear, prejudice and other less worthy human emotions. We believe that continued use of this film poses genuine danger to the climate of good will and harmony which currently exists between…neighbors of differing faiths. It appears to us to be a basically unfair and untruthful presentation of what Mormons really believe and practice."

What is the opening quote from the movie The Holiday?

I've found almost everything ever written about love to be true. Shakespeare said "Journeys end in lovers meeting." What an extraordinary thought. Personally, I have not experienced anything remotely close to that, but I am more than willing to believe Shakespeare had. I suppose I think about love more than anyone really should. I am constantly amazed by its sheer power to alter and define our lives. It was Shakespeare who also said "love is blind". Now that is something I know to be true. For some quite inexplicably, love fades; for others love is simply lost. But then of course love can also be found, even if just for the night. And then, there's another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills its victims. Its called unrequited love. Of that I am an expert. Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded. The handicapped without the advantage of a great parking space! Yes, you are looking at one such individual. And I have willingly loved that man for over three miserable years! The absolute worst years of my life! The worst Christmas', the worst Birthday's, New Years Eve's brought in by tears and valium. These years that I have been in love have been the darkest days of my life. All because I've been cursed by being in love with a man who does not and will not love me back. Oh god, just the sight of him! Heart pounding! Throat thickening! Absolutely can't swallow! All the usual symptoms.
