What Processor Should I Get

Which processor should I get, an i7 7500U or an i5 8250U?

Let me make things simple from a user perspective who just want to figure out the best combination for their laptops without going through lots of details and complications. Here are some assumptions I am going to make:You are considering for laptops in the same price range not like want to buy 80k laptop but can also buy 40k.would have at least 8gb of ram, if it’s less, don’t buy, 4gb wont get you anywhere.same graphics card on all of the laptops or at least in the 15–20% performance margin. Now lets get started with real differences which will be noticeable in daily usage.Core and threads Count - Well cores matter, like a lot. Think of it in this way, if water needs to be carried from a well with 4 person than with two person, which one will be faster? You will be able to open multiple applications/tabs without any trouble, provided you have enough ram(that’s why at least 8gb ram). with 2 more cores i5 8250 performs like 30–40% faster for applications that utilises multi-cores.i7 7500u - 2 cores/4 threadsi5 8250u - 4 cores/8 threadsClock speedi7 7500uBase Clock - 2.7GhzTurbo Clock - 3.5Ghzi5 8250uBase Clock - 1.6GhzTurbo Clock - 3.4 GhzNow most of the folks would straight away assume that mehhh 1.6Ghz that’s even lower than phones processor these days. That’s where you are wrong and making wrong decisions. Look at the turbo clock speed its barely 0.1 Ghz less. Personally in a laptop(not in desktop) I will always prefer to have lower base clock with good turbo speed. The best thing about having a lower base clock is that you will get a far more numbers of hours on battery and it’s life too. which is very important for a laptop, unless you want to hangout alongside a wall charger all day.Now the second thing is why the lower base clock doesn’t mean lower performance, its because you have got a similar turbo speed, which mean your processor will run at that speed only when it is required, thus preserving your precious battery life when doing normal work(like browsing, editing a doc, etc)Cachei7 7500u - 4 MBi5 8250u - 6 MBNow don’t underestimate this, because this is what helps your cpu to execute information much faster for repeating tasks. The more the merrier.Integrated Graphicsi7 7500u - HD 620i5 8250u - UHD 620mehhh not much to say here, both are almost same. just marketing bullshit from intel.I hope this helps. For reference in case anyone want to verify the facts.**Intel Core i5-8250U vs i7-7500U

Which Processor Should I Get?

I have an hp g60 laptop. I really want to upgrade my processor.
Here's all the stuff i have found about my computer...

Motherboard- Wistron 3612
Current CPU- intel pentinum T4200
CPU socket type- PGA478
RAM- 3gb

So I have looked around on the internet for a while and cant find a solid answer on what processors are compatible with my socket type. I want the intel i3 but im pretty convinced that it wont work with this thing since it comes with a cooling fan and the fan in my laptop probably couldnt handle this thing. but i just want to know what is the best processor i can get (with my socket) for under $150?
Also could you explain what 3rd gen processors are?

What kind of processor should i get?

I have an HP Pavilion and my system specs are:

Operating System
MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
CPU
AMD Sempron 140 38 °C
Sargas 45nm Technology
RAM
3.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 535MHz (7-7-7-20)
Motherboard
PEGATRON CORPORATION 2A99 (CPU 1) 45 °C
Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 440
Hard Drives
488GB Seagate ST350041 8AS SCSI Disk Device (ATA)

Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

I would like to get a new processor because my current one is a single core and i want more power.
If you could give me a good one from $30-70 that would be helpful.

Should I get an Intel i5 or i7 core processor?

I have a laptop that I use for small gaming and I want to upgrade to a PC so I can run the bigger games that my laptop can only run at around the minimum requirements. My laptop has an i7 Intel core processor, but I have heard that for a gaming PC you do not need said processor.

Should I buy a laptop with i7 processor or i5 processor?

There are different types in every processor, some i5’s will be stronger and powerful than i7’s. You should check specifications on ARK | Your Source for Intel® Product Specifications and then you should compare between what you’re buying, you surely will understand the difference between the speed and everything when you check up on the site.

What processor should i combine with the gtx 1080?

Years ago people were worried about bottlenecks with older dual core processors. Now people are worried about bottlenecks with new and top of the line processors.

Where did you get this information? What you can do to learn more is read benchmarks. Not just message boards and product reviews. I've seen some threads on Tom's where someone cited a Youtube video as a reason to not pair a GTX 1080 in SLI with a 6700k. However, I read a review on Techpowerup that stated you will get 99% of the performance out of a card at PCI-E 3.0 x8 speeds and 98% at PCI-E 2.0 x16 speeds. More investigation is needed before jumping to a conclusion based off a Youtube video that someone saw.

On PCpartpicker they will tell you a " a bottleneck is not a yes or no thing. It all depends on your settings, the game, and the resolution. Any CPU can bottleneck a card under the right conditions"

The 6700k is only going to give you a few more FPS in a handful of games. The socket 2011-v3 processors like the 6950k will actually be worse, not by much, because of the lower clock speeds.

What been shown to be effective in gaming is either a 6600k or 6700k overclocked to 4.5ghz with the RAM at 3000mhz.

At this point I would recommend waiting for the Core i5-7600k and Core i7-7700k. The IPC performance is the same but these new chips have a higher clock speed and may possibly overclock better. Also, the new z270 chipset will come out with these processors. You can rest assured Gigabyte will have a z270 Gaming 7 board and Asus will have a Maximus 9 Hero board, and ASRock will have an OC Formula board.

I've heard people on here not recommend certain z170 boards because of bad reviews on newegg but from what I've seen, most z170 boards have a lot of bad reviews.

The ultimate fact remains that by this time next year we have cards like the GTX 1080ti that are much faster but CPU performance won't be much better than what's currently available. According to the conclusion drawn by some people, I guess we're screwed.

Should I get a blender or a food processor?

While they both share some similarities, they are both different enough that they don't overlap a lot.A food processor can slice, grate, mix, and do a number of things that a blender can't do.  But a blender will blow a food pro away when it comes to making drinks and generally doing what a blender is good at.  Mike Winters gives a good answer for your specific needs, especially if you don't want to lay out a lot of cash (which is understandable). Dan Holliday makes a great case for a high end blender, and indeed, I don't think you should really call a Vitamix a blender.  It's like calling a Ferrari a car.  But that's probably way out of your price range.Generally, for someone on a budget, I'd say go with a blender, simply because they are cheaper.  It won't do coffee very well, and nuts will be inconsistent, but I think I would take that and save the money.  Buy a smallish coffee grinder separately, which will do nuts as well if you don't like what the blender does (you probably won't).

Which processor should I get for programming?

Look , I hope you are at newbie at programming , I’ll keep it straight and simple ! :)Programming doesn’t require you any particular pc configuration or typically doesn’t need any hardcore and powerful processor to be honest. Here I am coding in Java,C and C++ for about 5 years that too in a Pentium Dual Core 2.00 Ghz , it is a 2007 made processor but it doesn’t matter !Just until the compiler that you’re using is supported by your system(it will be , there are very few hardware extensive compilers) , you can easily code in any language you like.If you use Android Development Kits or Visual Basic then I’ll suggest a decent Core-i3 6100 or Pentium G4560 (3.5GHz) with about 4 Gbs of RAM (recommended 8Gbs for Eclipse) , if you are aiming for a high end programmer , this PC Build will easily go long !!Hope it helps !

Which processor should I get, Intel Core I-7-4790 or 3820?

I will use it for running Softwares like AutoCad,Photoshop and Gaming too! so which one would be better? (AND I HAVE NO WISH TO OVERCLOCK IT IN THE FUTURE)

Someone please advice me!

Which Intel processor should I get with a new laptop? (7th generation Core i5 or 6th generation Core i7?)?

I will mainly be using it for web browsing, microsoft office, light 3d online gaming, movie watching etc. I don't think I can afford a 7th generation Core i7 with the other specs thats I'm choosing.

Thank you
