What Race Am I Picture

What race could you say i am by this picture?

You look very much like a young man in Camp Verde, Arizona who I know from the Casino there. He is a proud member of the Yavapai Apache Tribe there, which makes him a Native American.

What race am I?

I was born in American to an Ecuadorian father and a Puerto-Rican American mother. I understand that many latinos face the question of their race due to the hundreds of years of colonization that distorts it, especially within Puerto Rico. Additionally, they come in many skin tones that add to the confusion.
Whenever I have to fill a form that asks for my ethnicity, it is easy to answer that I am Hispanic/Latino. Then they ask my race and i m not sure if I can identify with neither African American, White, Asian, Native etc.
Because I am a mix of two very different Latino cultures, my appearance is also very mixed. I am light skinned and get very dark in the summer. I have very very straight hair. And throughout my life, I have been compared to being either from an Asian country like the Philippines or just Native America. I see this in myself as well.
I just confuses me because I know that many Puerto Ricans within the island and outside identify as being African due to their appearance and history of colonization. I don t know much about the history of Ecuador but I am sure they went through very similar experiences.
So...what race am I?

PICTURES: What race do you think I am?

I am proud of my race, so please no need to give self esteem lectures.

A friend of mine said that I look a specific race, and I want to get an objective answer.

Here are links to my photos: PLEASE NOTE, THESE ARE ALL ME IN THE PICTURES, BUT I CHANGE MY STYLE SO THEY MAY NOT ALL LOOK EXACTLY BUT THEY ARE ME:

YO, TRY TO guess my Race/Ethnicty?

I didn't look at the picture, but I'm going to venture a mix of dog and Hispanic.

Is there a website where I can upload my picture and find out my nationality?

Lynda,

Honestly, if you are trying to find out your nationality for certain, I don't think that uploading a picture to a website will tell you. Facial features can give an indication to what part of the world your ancestors were from, but it won't be able to pinpoint exactly. For instance, people in the European countries have similar traits but pinpointing the exact country can be difficult. Think about it this way. Can you tell by looking at someone whether they are from Illinois or from Michigan?

On the other hand there are DNA tests that you can take for about $100.00 that can give you a better idea, but even so the test will only focus in on one line per test which can reack up to some serious buck$!

I would check the laws about adoption in your state. Have you gotten the non-identifying information about your birth parents? The non identifying information will in most cases make mention of your bio moms heritage and if possible the birth fathers. Most states will provide you that when you come of age. The state of Oregon even has a law that you can request your original birth certificate when you are of age. I would research the adaoption laws in the area you were adopted in and go from there.

Good luck sweetie and I hope you find what you are looking for.

I am Puerto Rican. What is my race?

Depends on what you look like...I'd have to see a picture to actually tell

If you look anything like Rosie Perez, Roselyn Sanchez or Jennifer Lopez, you're probably mixed Spanish, Taino and African (like most Puerto Ricans)

Rosie Perez is slightly more African

While JLo is slightly more Taino

Roselyn Sanchez is more of an even mix of all three

Puerto Rico's culture and heritage is a blend of Taino, African and Spanish influences, and Puerto Ricans can be pretty much any race. Some are White, others are Black, and some look more Taino but the majority are a mix of all three.

Latino and Hispanic are not races, but ethnic identities based on similar language and culture.

How do I know what race I am?

Race is much more difficult to define than it seems. It is often confused/conflated with heritage. You seem to know your heritage with exceptional specificity (ie. your Spanish heritage is Celtic; Trinidad and Tobago; Mestizo, etc.). “Race” lumps heritages together and divides them into categories. For example: Latinx, native, Asian, black, or white. However, “black” and “white” are not “races” or heritages—they have developed cultures, though. They are generalizations (like most other “races”) based on appearance. The first Irish immigrants to the States were not considered “white,” and dark-skinned Puerto Ricans are considered “black” and Latinx, even though their heritage may be solely Puerto Rican. Likewise, “Scandinavian” is not a “race” option on questionnaires, but comes with important genetic health factors, like a propensity for high blood-pressure.So, if your question was general, I hope that helps you consider multiple options. If you were trying to fill out a form (and have to choose a “race” option) you would have to choose “mixed” or “other.”

Is there a site that can tell me what race/ethnicity I resemble, based on various pictures?

No. Lots of people have posed "guess my ethnicity" questions on Quora, and none of them that I can recall were so typical of a definite part of the globe, e.g., the area around the center-point of Africa, that it was easy to guess. If you can't look at pictures and say, "Wow! They look exactly like me. That one could be my mother's duplicate," then I doubt that others could do it.There are no lines inscribed in nature, no labels attach to the newborn baby, that say, "This one is white and moreover comes from Iceland." All of us have some genes that will be atypical to the people in the community of our relatives, our extended families, etc. Sometimes even siblings look very different from each other. It's all in the luck of the draw. What particular set of chromosomes came down to you from your four grandparents? All people in your generation of your family will have a different assortment unless they are identical twins. My brother and I were so similar in respect of visual characteristics that I still answer to his name. Nobody in our community, family aside, was sure which one was which. However, when it came to things they couldn't see, we were very different. My brother likes tuna and doesn't like salmon. I'm the opposite. My brother likes chocolate milk. I can't stand it. If you really want to know "what you are," get yourself a full-genome read-out and you'll probably find a company that will provide, along with that, an analysis of where your remote ancestors came from. Knowing, e.g., that somebody is [white] for the most part but [black] in terms of what heart medicines will work for him/her is potentially useful. Knowing that you have Genghis Khan as your 32nd great grandfather on your father's side is probably not going to get you anywhere special unless you are somebody who would declare any hint of Mongol ancestry disqualifies you from being a true human being.
