Is Al Pacino the most overrated actor of all time?

In my opinion, he's a brilliant stage and screen actor, who has had a long career in which he's consistently delivered. So I wouldn't call him over-rated. His work in "Dog Day Afternoon" is extraordinary to me, as is his collaboration in the Godfather movies. He is always an extremely raw, very generous as an actor, showing terrific vulnerability. He's also talented comedically. This is clear in many of his "serious" performances ("Dog Day Afternoon," "Scent of a Woman," etc), but he surprised me by turning in an appropriately broad, comedic performance in "Dick Tracy," as the villain Big Boy Caprice. Until I saw it, I wouldn't have imagined he had that capacity. I saw him on stage when he played Teach in David Mamet's "American Buffalo." It's an extremely demanding, difficult role, and he was splendid in it. Pacino is equally gifted with language and with silent acting. I was impressed by his work in "Scent of a Woman," when he stopped talking and basically died on his feet. In the same film, he delivered a big speech in the end, with great timing and nuance, as if he was playing Shakespeare.  One of his strengths is the ability to range from being domineering to extremely vulnerable in the same role, which is something many actors fail at doing. He believably takes his character in "The Godfather" from being the little brother to the mafia don. That was a bard bit of casting, and Pacino was the right guy for it.

What are the underrated scents in our world?

For me, like others who’ve answered here, lots of the things I consider underrated are scents in nature. Wild garlic and bluebells just after a spring rain, the leathery, earthy smell of dog paws, the fungal smell of the forest floor, the cow-horse smell of deer on woodland paths. Then there’s more personal favourites - the smell of a lover’s skin right between their shoulder blades as I fall asleep, putty and wood shavings reminding me of my father’s shed, lavender and violet remind me of the home of a favourite relative with whom I spent childhood weekends. The smells of Bangkok - the humid air when the airport doors open, jasmine and marigold garlands, street food cooking. Lots of food smells, too, of course. Fresh brewed coffee, whisky warmed in a glass with the smell of a wood fire, fresh-cooked buttermilk pancakes, chocolate melting for cake-making, scones baking. So many underrated smells.

What is the most overrated brand of perfume/cologne?

I agree with David with Givenchy,apart from their original Givenchy Gentleman, Givenchy Pi & maybe Givenchy play fast forward (a playful scent) & one other I can't remember offhand they've sucked in the last 15 years.Creed is another brand thats severely over rated and full of abiguous claims,just the price tag alone is a big no no for me…I personally can't justify spending the amount they charge with fragrances that are blantant copies of what's been done before for a fraction of the price and have performance issues.If they weren't so expensive no one would give a shit.I'd rather have 4 great fragrances for the price of a Creed.The popular Christian Dior fragrance 'Sauvage' is another mystifying and over rated mens fragrance that's bang average at best and imo Versaces Dylan Blue does a much better job for that type of fragrance and performs much better and is cheaper.The other Christian Dior scent pour homme intense is another recent frag that's been left for dead by Pradas newest release Luna Rossa Black….their Luna Rossa range is really really good imo.Thanks for the request.
