How accurate is Share My Location on iPhone?

It depends. The phone uses three methods to determine your location, depending on what it can access at any time. First, it uses a GPS that triangulates to satellites in the sky to determine your location within a few feet. But you must have a reasonably unobstructed view of the sky. Second, if you are not in airplane mode, and can reach a cell tower, the phone triangulates to available cell phones towers and estimates where you are based on the signal strength of the various towers it can reach. This is the least accurate method, but it covers a lot of ground and can be surprisingly good. Third, and finally, if your phone can pick up on wi-fi signals from local homes and businesses. these have been cataloged to allow Apple to tell about where you are, even if the wi-fi signal is encrypted. (I THINK this still works, but I’m less sure.)Some combination of these can nail your location very accurately most of the time. But sometimes my phone still thinks I’m maybe a mile from where I am, usually if I’m in a building and my wi-fi is turned off.

My iphone 5 doesn't let me block my caller id?

I just got an iPhone 5 a few days ago, and i had heard from other iPhone users that you could go into your settings and somehow turn off your caller id so when you call people they won't know it's you. i went in my settings to do it and went under the "phone" setting and it wasn't there, like people had said it would be.. I've read that some people have theirs show up but it doesn't let them toggle on/off. Mine doesn't show up at all.. Did they take this feature out of iPhone 5's or is it just my phone?

Can I track a cellphone even if the location is turned off?

If a phone is "switched off" it is actually in a sleep or standby mode (that's how the button wakes it up) so it is not actually offBetter would be airplane mode with radio turned off. The the obvious answer is "no radio = no trace"But it is conceivably there are "trap doors" or "spyware" that could still record voices and transmit location if required. This wouldn't be a normal thing; it wouldn't be obvious - but only a fool would say NSA & GCHQ can't do it.People who scared of being monitored will take the battery out of their phone (tricky with iPHONE... make sure it is very, very flat) and then put it in the fridge. And then go somewhere else, leaving it there.

How does Instagram know my location when I have turned off my location in privacy settings? I still see adverts for the area I live in even though all the settings in my phone have my location turned off?

As well as knowing the general area you are in through your IP address, Instagram also knows the area you used to be in.Turning off location services simply prevents websites and apps from discovering your location - if they already knew from previous activity where you were - turning location services off doesn’t erase that data.
