What should I eat if I am hungry?

What’s in your pantry and fridge? If you have some staples around, you can always make a quick meal with very little effort. One example - potato and leek soup. Dice the leeks and potatoes and saute them until the leeks are soft and the potatoes ar warm. Add some chicken or vegetable stock, which you can buy in those cardboard containers and it stays good with no refrigeration for up to a year. Always have a few boxes in your pantry and you can make home made soup in a jiffy. Cook until the potatoes are soft, blend it in a blender or with a stick blender and add salt and pepper to taste. Very simple, and it take about thirty minute start to finish. Then, you’ll have leftover soup next time you get hungry. You can fancy it up by adding diced tomatoes, corn, croutons, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, whatever you have handy. Even a couple of thinly sliced scallions on top is decorative and tasty.Another quick snack or meal is hummus or bean dip. Things you should always have in your pantry include canned beans or chickpeas, tahini, garlic, olive oil, salt, black pepper, maybe some fresh herbs or a lemon. Just drain and rinse the beans and toss them in a blender or food processor with some tahini, a couple of cloves of garlic, enough lemon juice and olive oil to loosen the mix until it blends into a smooth paste. Add salt and pepper to taste. And please, if you make it with beans instead of chickpeas, don’t call it hummus. You don’t even need the tahini. one of my favorite Italian restaurants serves their before dinner bread basket with little ramekins of white bean dip - just beans, olive oil and garlic. It’s delicious and really fast to make. You can eat your bean dip on pita or toasted bread, tortilla chips, or crudites.

If my bmr is 1400 what should I be eating?

I don't think you're eating enough. Your BMR is 1400 so that's what you'd burn if you literally laid there all day and did not move a muscle. From daily activities, you probably burn an extra 100-300 depending on what you do during the day and how much you move around. With the exercise, that's probably another 300 at least depending on the exercise you do. I'd suggest eating about 1500-1600 and exercising. Sometimes you don't lose weight because you aren't eating enough calories. Sounds weird, I know, but it's called a weight loss plateau and it happens to a lot of people.

What should I eat if I go to the gym?

Should I eat even if I'm not hungry?

I always make sure to have a "complete" breakfast to start metabolism, but I don't feel hungry much for lunch.
If I don't eat lunch however, my calorie intake will be lower than 1200 and my body will think its starving... right?
So should I eat 3 meals a day to meet my calorie "requirements" even though I am not really that hungry?
Or should I just eat when I'm hungry and be at risk for not getting enough calories?
