What Should I Buy With My $500

If I have a budget of $500, which should I buy for my laptop: CPU or GPU?

As was said before, replacing a CPU or GPU in a laptop is nigh impossible.  It requires component level maintenance, meaning you have to de-solder and re-solder components on the mainboard.  Might as well buy a new computer. You may be facing one or both of two issues here. The CPU should be just fine for what you want.  But you didn't mention the video component.  It's likely this is a standard, low power graphics unit that is normally installed as a default. If the graphics card is low end, this is probably only part of your problem.  You should still be able to get good performance for something like Minecraft.  You can always mess a bit with the settings and you may get some improvement. However, the biggest problem is probably the state of your operating system.  If you've had this computer for awhile,  you may want to clean your hard drive and maximize it.  I won't go into the process here, I have several answers related to this issue, and I'll post a link if I can find them.Try doing some maintenance, first.  It can't hurt and it's much cheaper than the alternative.

I have $500 in optimum points. What should I buy?

I apologize for the late reply! I hope you got to collect some more points! You can keep saving them or wait until redemption. Redemption days usually happen every season or so and your points’ value is increased tremendously. Basically, the more you have, the more you will get! If you have ex: 60 000 (60$) they can be worth 75$ that day (aka you can buy for 75$). In your case, 500 000 gives you up to 150 $ extra! Or you can also split the redemptions. It’s entirely up to you!As for what you can get, especially in this Holiday season, SDM offers a variety of products, including some awesome makeup and skincare products. If you want to get some cool tech as well. That’s how I got my current DSLR camera. I hope this helps!

What is the best tennis racket I can buy for under $500?

Under $500? If you're paying more than $200, you're overpaying. That being said, I've used only Dunlop rackets throughout my high school, college, and league play. At the moment, I'm using the M-Fil 300; it cost less than $100. I have three strung at different tensions that I use depending upon the weather and court.

A racket being strung well is far, far, far more important than the racket itself. Restringing is critically important if you want to keep your game as good as it can be.

And by the way, the Prince O3 Silver that someone suggested earlier is super head heavy with a 4/5 inch balance. That means if you have really short and somewhat weaker ground strokes, you'll want it. The sweet spot is huge; that means if you take a bigger swing, you're not going to have the control that you want if you want to be a strong competitor. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that it was the racket Tennis Mag even reviewed as something like, "A good choice for seniors in a country club tournament." It's not a very good racket, especially if you play a quicker game and if you're looking for something more versatile.

I want to buy a house with a $500/month payment, what is the highest price house I can buy?

A $50,000, 30 year mortgage at 6% would run around $300 for principal and interest. Taxes vary a lot depending on where you live, but taxes and insurance would probably eat up most of the rest of the $500 a month you're shooting for.

Whatever you have for a down payment would add to that $50,000 to get the price of the house you could afford. But remember closing costs and prepays, which can end up a few thousand dollars to pay at closing.

A 30 year mortgage is probably your best bet. If you could find a mortgage for 40 years, at the same amount borrowed and interest rate, your payment would only go down about $25 a month.

Good luck.

Is it possible to buy a used car for $500 to $1000 range in USA and ride it frequently on highways without having to spend lots of money fixing it?

Absolutely! None of my cars cost more than $1000, and two of them are classics! I paid $375 for my Subaru. It ran awful, but all she needed was a mass air flow sensor ($25 at the junkyard) and to clean the idle air control valve. I got her with 216,000 miles on her and now she has 221,000 and I drive her daily. Its awd and awesome in the snow! So many subarus in colorado :-)My dad got my Camaro 19 years ago when I was 12 for $300. I drive that car when it's nice out!My advice to you if you are looking to do something like that (and avoid car payments, ha!) is to observe what people are driving on the street. I notice old (1989-2000) Subarus -1995 and older have the best engines, they are non-interference and don't blow head gaskets like the 96 and up 2.5.1996 and older Hondas and Toyotas are common, old American trucks, 1980s full size Chevrolet (boxy body style -caprice, impala and related) those have the 350, best engine ever made and super easy to work on! And 1990s Saturns. When buying, listen for the rods knocking, it's an awful noise and that engine is done unless it is completely rebuilt. And make sure it drives ok, no bad shaking at speed or when braking. When you get her home, change the oil, fuel filter, brakes and tires needed. One last note: Check your junkyard and see what there are lots of so you can get parts for cheap. Lots of a particular car doesn't necessarily mean that they are poorly built, just that lots of people drive them.Cars to avoid imo:Late 90s-early 2000s Korean built cars (Hyundai, Kia and Daihatsu) Nissan Altima and maxima (1980s Nissans seem cool if you don't mind a carbureted car) and late 80s - early 2000s small American cars, like ford contour or dodge neon.Happy wrenching and driving!
