Can I apply for Unemployment after working abroad?
I am a US citizen who has been working and living abroad in Asia for the past 2 years. My work contract and permit has expired here and I will be returning to the US soon. Not my choice of destinations, but I will need to return for a while. I am looking at the unemployment numbers and getting a bit worried. If I am unable to find work in the short run, is there any chance of filing an unemployment claim? It's not looking too pretty at the moment.

Volunteering and Working Abroad Help Please?
Hi! Im interested in traveling somewhere this coming summer to work or to volunteer, but I'm wondering if you have any experience with this? I know this is probably unrealistic, but I'm from Canada, and I'm not specific at all where I want to travel, as long as it's not to the states (been there too much), but I want to go as cost efficient as possible. Are there any groups or places that are reputable and and send people for free (as long as you pay for your plane, they organize the rest)? Im not specific on what I do overseas either. I would like to go using as little money as possible, but still have a good experience! Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Why do people want to work abroad?
I'm from Brazil, married and have 3 little boys.I'm actually pursuing a 3-5 years season abroad and my reasons are mostly related to my kids although I do want it for me as well.I believe that the experience is very important to be prepared to take the most enjoyable, challenging and promising working opportunities. Being an employee/executive at a global company (big or small, nowadays size does not matter) or entrepreneuring here or there.It's important because you learn to live and work with differences, cultural and behavioral differences ... you gather more tools to deal with those differences to lead ... you learn different ways of doing business ... you see the world by many views and not only by your country/culture point of view ... Diversity is fun and useful for your personal and professional life.Since English is not our main language learn it right is very important too.Of course, the opportunity to travel, know other places are also compelling.
