What Should I Look For In A Computer For Gaming

What is a good "gaming computer"?

Hi. Alienware makes good gaming computers, as do most of the corporate manufacturers like HP and Dell and even eMachines. The question begs is how much you are willing to spend on this computer. I just bought the components from Newegg to build my new machine and with the hardware I got, it would be classified as a gaming computer.

What Matt is trying to point out is that when you buy the computer, ask the sales rep to make certain that the computer has what is called dedicated video. Most computers come with integrated video (video built into the computer) and this seriously reduces the gaming potential because the graphics hog system resources. With dedicated video, the computer would have more resources for the game. This may sound confusing, but just remember that you are looking for a computer with dedicated video. If you look over the features and see that the computer sports x amount of shared video RAM, then this tells you that the computer does not have a dedicated graphics controller and would not be well suited for gaming.

Also, most gaming computers have a lot of RAM, over 1GB (gigabyte). Mine has 4GB. Hope this helps.

Again, check out alienware computers - http://www.alienware.com/main.aspx - as they are more suited for making gaming machines. Last note: ignore the bias towards a certain brand (intel, amd, nvidia, ati); everyone has their personal preferences and love to shove those opinions down every throat they can find!

Edit: When you buy one, ask the sales people for a Windows XP install because though Vista looks pretty, it seriously degrades performance of the machine.

Where to buy a gaming computer?

I want to buy a Gaming PC but i don't know where to get it and i wont to know trusted places because some of them don't look professional. The reason i don't wont to build one is because i don't wont to mess it up and be out the money and still not have a PC. ( Not Alien ware because they are a little over priced)

Should I build a gaming computer? or Buy one pre Built?

I always hear that building a gaming computer is cheaper and better, however I dont know a thing about how to build one and how to get all the parts to be compatible and I dont even know where I would began to start searching to find all the parts for the best price to me it just seems like building one would be easier. I'll just give you a little background on what I plan to play, I want to have a computer that can run BF3 on High settings and get around 60+ FPS, also be able to play minecraft on Far with 60+ FPS, Can someone assist me in what I should do, I have $1000 to spend towards this computer, If you are able to help me it would be greatly appreciated if you could tell me some of the main components to have on the computer so I at least know where to start. I have set aside $300 dollars for a monitor and already have a keyboard and mouse so I will not need to use the $1000 towards that. If Making a computer within my wanted specifications isn't possible please let me know.

How do I make nighttime look like daytime on my computer game?

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY. So I am playing this survival dinosaur game. There’s day and night. There is also night vision for your dinosaur (you can’t see anything with night vision on, it’s too difficult). Well prior to this, when night would fall, on our gaming computers, we use to be able to go to our Graphics Card and then up the Gamma/Contrast to make nighttime visible like daytime. Now, the devs on the new update made it where you have to use night vision now because Gamma/Contrast adjustment no longer works due to it being so dark now. Who is computer tech savvy to tell me how to get around this? Some people have figured out a way to bypass this on the game to continue to make nighttime as clear or visible as daytime again. Please help! The game is not playable like that when it’s that dark and night vision is not even a help. Someone please guide me to fix this. By the way, I am using a Bang & Olufsen gaming laptop with graphics cards Intel Core i7 7th Generation and NVidia GeForce GTX.
