Can You Shadow A Public High School?

What should I wear to a high school prom?
Am I late to the party? Yeah, probably. Oh well, it showed up in my feed and not answering it could keep me awake at night.Whatever you want. I’ll give a guys opinion here.I was 13 when I went to my first (and, incidentally, only) prom. In Australia we don’t have them, I was fortunate enough to be in the United States at the time. Now, 13 year old me wasn’t a good looking kid (and believe me, I’m definitely better looking now than I was then).Here’s a 13 year old me just before going to prom. Note how the arm length of the suit was too long, the left cuff isn’t right and I’m not wearing a watch. Also look at the hair, the pants and the mustache. Looking back, I wasn’t as “smart” as I thought I was. 10 years can change a man; and I’m bloody glad it did/does.Point being, I wore a suit to what would ordinarily be considered a “casual/business casual” event. And man did I get brownie points for it. If only I had a date, it could’ve made the night magical… but instead I goofed around with some of my American mates and partied like it was 2006; because it absolutely was.Being a 23 year old male who hasn’t done this for 10 years, I can’t give you much advice (assuming you’re a girl, that is) but if you’re a guy - dress to impress, man. Even if it’s just the teachers; suits are great. Just… don’t do what I did.SHAVE and do NOT wear a red shirt. I looked like a Mafioso according to one mate. But, hey - 10 years later and I still have the tie! It would also benefit you to NOT look like you haven’t slept at all since you were born. Then again, I really didn’t want any pictures taken. And yet this one survived…I’ll defer to another, more experienced, Quora user (who just so happens to be a lady) who can (hopefully) give you a woman’s perspective if need be. Kelley; you’re up.
Shadowing a high school and im really nervous?
I'm shadowing a high school tomorrow and I'm so nervous. I don't know what to do! Are the teachers gonna ask me questions like a regular student because i don't do well under pressure. Do i participate in PE and what do i do w lunch!? I cant stop thinking about it! Did anyone ever shadow? What was it like? And Any advice??? please please please help.
What to wear to girl's private school shadow day? Please help!?
Okay so I am going into the eighth grade and enrolling into a private school for next year. The interview outfit was nice, except I kind of forgot how to talk. Eh. Every question she asked, I was like, Uhhhh.....I don't know. And I pretty much bombed it. So now, I am going for a second shot at the Shadow Day. I have made an appointment on Thursday. Which gives me Sunday to shop because I'm busy Saturday. Shadow Day is when I skip my normal public school for a day and I go to the private school at 7:50 in the morning until the school ends. I have some random girl selected in my grade to be my buddy who I follow around like a creeper all freaking day. Rules they e-mailed me are: -No blue jeans. And that's it. For the 20 minute interview, I wore: -Plain white v-neck abercrombie shirt with a white plain cami under. -Dark wash Hollister skinny jeans. Weren't skin tight or suffocating me or anything lol. -Simple metal ball stud earrings -Delia's cute patterned scarf. -Gray knit Uggs. -Coach Poppy crossbody bag So what should I wear to the shadow day? The school is a uniform all-girls school. And I have to bring a loose top/shorts for gym. I'm just gonna get my plain white shirt again. It's pretty stretchy and only 1 person saw me in it anyways lol. And pink Sofee shorts or something. So any ideas? I'm thinking maybe a lace-y navy blue skirt from abercrombie or somewhere. But I want to wear a blazer? Haah, okay so please please please help me! And I mostly want stuff from: Forever21, delia's, american eagle. What do American students usually wear to high school?
It depends on the school.I never attended a school with uniforms or even a well established dresscode.I often wore leggings/sweatpants or running shorts with t-shirts.Senior year looked a lot like this;Senior yearIt was a bunch of college t-shirts, before we applied and a bunch more after we were accepted. These outfits were typical, just change the tops.Spirit day.Okay, so this isn't typical, but I really like Penn State. It's why I'm going! People will go out for spirit days and others won't care at all. Halloween was usually fun.This is typical fall wear. It wasn't a school function, but it's the same clothing they would wear to school.Fall attireThis is what I wore when I needed to dress up.Dressier TaylorI usually wore heals, not Birkenstocks though.We dressed like this during Spring finals. Wearing stiff clothing while also having to sit for hours on end is not the way to go.Sophomore year, I thinkBasically, there's a lot sweatpants/leggings, hoodies, and t-shirts. Some people will dress up, but I would say that looking like a student teacher everyday is abnormal.There comes a point where you realize what you wear doesn't matter and that comfort is more important, so wearing the same five t-shirts is perfectly acceptable.
Middle/High school girls: How much makeup do you wear?
You could start wearing makeup at the age of 12, but not too much! If you are 12 or 13 you can wear.. -Cover Girl Exact Eyelights mascara. It looks natural but works with your eye color to make it pop! -Lip Gloss! I think Bath and Body works has the best lip gloss -Maybe eyeliner, but don't wear it unless you look a little older than 12 or 13! And use a natural shade like brown or black. And when you get 14 or older, you can start using other things like: -Anything I said above, but you can try different brands and use a little more! -Eye shadow! Go with natural colors like browns, grays, neautrals. Stay away from colors like orange green or pink, they equal disaster! -Blush! -foundation is questionable because your teens years is where your skin is at it's best, so you don't wanna cover it up. It could cause wrinkles at an early age! But if you have blemishes you can use a little coverup! Hope it helped! :)
