What Should One Wear For A Interview For Medical School The Interview Will Be Very Critical.

Medical School interview Question........?

The purpose of the med school interview (at least at my medical school) is not so much to get you to give a specific answer but to demonstrate HOW you think, and what kind of a person you are. There are a lot of questions that will come up that are directly related to your interest in medicine - how did you decide on a career in medicine, etc. This gives you a chance to demonstrate your sincerity about going into medicine (i.e. that you're not just in it for the nice salary). The interview panels I sit on typically ask off-the-wall questions as well (what's your favorite book, what motivates you, etc). I like to ask our candidates to describe how they would resolve a difficult situation (a patient that wouldn't comply with treatment, a boss that they disagreed with, etc.) There is no correct answer to these questions. What we're looking for is someone who can demonstrate the ability to think critically. Can you analyze a problem and come up with a viable solution? You will have to do this for most of your medical career when you diagnose patients, so we want to see that you have the potential to do just that.

For me, nothing - absolutely nothing - drops an evaluation faster than a canned answer. That shows me the candidate doesn't have the ability to think on his/her feet, and that they are not genuine. It's okay if you don't have a quick response - your interview panel knows your nervous and we do take that into account. Use the excellent list of questions provided on this page as a guide to the questions you might want to think about before your interviews. Just don't try to come up with little speeches for each one. You will tank quickly.

Our interviews (US medical school) are very friendly affairs, we try to put the candidates at ease both before and during the interview. There are three panel members in the room with each student, and each interview lasts about half an hour. I don't know how other med schools do their interviews, so you might call the admissions department to ask about the format. This will at least give you an idea of what to expect.

Best of luck!!!

What should be the satisfactory answer in an interview if they ask why your academic percentage got gradually reduced from 90% till 12th to 70% in engineering?

A very reasonable and a valid question asked during interview related to low marks in your academics. There are some ways to handle this question effectively. First and foremost thing to remember and understand is that the job you applied has not to do too much with your past academic record. else you would have not been called for interview. Any interviewer will first go thru the resume and details and then shortlist the candidate. So you are already passed in that criteria. Now while answering this question, stay confident. Do not let the interviewer takeover you or your confidence. This is a chance for you to show them that you can perform under pressure and you learn from past mistakes and. failures. This will help an interviewer understand how well you can perform your duties in job. There must be some valid reason for getting low marks in academics, various reason could include, you being busy in other school or college activities, like helping other students, or spending too much time on sports activities or cultural activities, maybe some health issues, or family problems. Reasons can be many, stick to the main reason and do not lie. Chances are that initially you were not interested in the course but by the time you generated interest in it , it was too late.Emphasize more on your strengths and do not waste too much time explaining or giving excuses for low grades. Find out your achievements during this period and explain them. This will shift their focus from your academics to your strengths. Be ready with a plan how you will overcome it. Share your goals for next 3 / 6 / 9 and 12 months. It is very critical to sell yourself during an Interview. You cannot change the past, but with proper planning and zeal to excel you can live your present and shape your future. All the Best !
