What Should U Put On Self Harm Scars

Are guys put off my self harm scars?

If you are just meeting these men and they see the scars it can be a red flag for them. It might this woman has some issues and I'm not looking for a project. In the many times I've taught about dating I always see be you but be a better you, meaning clean up the rough edges for the first few encounters. It could scare anyone if a potential lover brings all the emotional baggage on the first date. It might sound harsh but if you can cover them up when meeting guys. If a guy likes you for you then he will be more open to accepting your past.

How do I hide my self harm scars?

Hi dear. :)

First of all, I'm not gonna lecture you or anything, cause I've gone through the same thing. Here's some tips that helped me out a lot.

First of all, one thing that helped my scars fade a lot was lemon juice. My mom did think it was kinda suspicious of all the lemons I was buying, though. I just rubbed a little bit of the squeezed lemon juice on my scars twice a day and it helped a lot with the redness, even though they were pretty old. (Don't do this of course if they're new scars cause that would hurt like crazy of course.)
Another thing that helped was getting vitamin E. What you need to do is buy some liquid vitamin E capsules at a drugstore or somewhere that sells them. I'm pretty sure you don't have to be over 18 to buy them. You can split open a capsule and rub it over the scars once or twice a day. I heard this one takes longer but has better results than the lemon juice.
For quick coverage, I would DEFINITELY recommend foundation and concealer. The one that I used was the Studio Fix foundation by MAC. It doesn't have to be high-end makeup, it just has to be able to stay on long enough, so you may want to use a face primer before foundation or concealer.
Lastly, I used a Garnier anti-age eye roller. It prevents against under eye circles and wrinkles and stuff, so I thought I'd try it out on my scars. It did take a little while, but it did end up improving the look a little bit.

Sorry for such a long answer, haha. But good luck. :)

How do I cover self harm scars?

Hey I’ve written some of my ways of coping with self harm urges here What are good coping mechanisms to use when experiencing self-harm urges?I’m really sorry it’s come to the point where you have to harm yourself. In terms of covering up, I’m assuming we are talking about cutting. I’m going to take you through my own advice. Some is only relevant to worse cuts, so scroll down for covering/ long term healing. the best things to do:Wash with water and/or saline solution and dry with either sterile gauze or a very clean towelTreat any open wounds: a gaping wound needs medical attention, a smaller open cut you can steri-strip yourself. If you have a gaping wound and didn’t get medical attention, see your GP or dress with inadine under the dressing.Put a plaster or sterile dressing on the wound, making sure you don’t get the sticky stuff on the actual cutTry to keep it dry. If it gets wet, re-dress to protect yourself from infection.Once a scab forms, no more need for dressings/ plasters. You can start using bio oil. This will moisturise and help reduce scaringThe best way I have found to heal scars is run in bio oil, wait for it to dry, then rub in cocoa butter. This helps with scaring and the itchy stage of healing (and it feels good lol).Covering up: easiest way is clothes. Wear long sleeves to cover arms, put an elastic bracelet over the top of the sleeve if you thing it might ride up if you raise or move your arm. People use lots of bracelets to cover arm scars.Make up. You’ll need green and yellow concealer. I followed a YouTube tutorial on covering scars which turned out amazing. It went like this: primer, green, yellow, blend, green, yellow, blend, foundation, blend, set. Basically you have to use the opposite colour to the scar but yeah YouTube it.Please don’t self harm again. I know it’s hard. Read my link above, look online for resources, speak to your doctor or a counsellor, breathe.Good luck and remember that what you feel now is temporary and you can and will get past it. Things will get better.

How can I get rid of self-harm scars?

Anyway…I’m cheating on this. I answer this question SO frequently I have just gotten into copying and pasting. My methods are all from items that are either in your pantry now, or can be found in most grocery stores. They are usually pretty cheap, too, which helps.First, every other day, at least, you should use a mixture of baking soda and water (or powdered rice, or even granulated sugar would work) to exfoliate the skin where your scars are located. You do not have to burn up your skin, normal exfoliation will still help your scars heal! If you don't have problems using this every other day, and you WANT to, you can do it daily, I recommend every other day as standard.Next, you can use either lemon juice or Apple Cider vinegar as a "toner" of sorts. If you use lemon juice (you can buy the bottle - doesn't have to be fresh lemon) but it CAN burn sensitive skin. If you have a reaction don't use it! Lemon and Apple Cider Vinegar are both used to help remove the pigmentation or discoloration that makes scars so noticeable. I always recommend that if a person uses lemon juice to ONLY leave it on for a few minutes and then to wash it off - lemon juice can be a caustic substance to skin. Apple Cider vinegar is far less problematic, but many people may prefer washing it off as well, although I do leave mine on. You can use lemon and Apple Cider vinegar daily - twice daily if you find that it doesn't bother you.Following that, then for a "moisturizer"..., Bio-oil, cocoa butter, shea oil, Vitamin E oil, Coconut oil, Aloe Vera, and I recently heard that Rosehip Seed Oil has AMAZING properties for scar healing (although I have never tried it myself). One of the most important things to always remember about any scars is that while you are trying to heal and remove scars is to avoid sun. Sun will automatically darken the skin around it making the scar more noticeable. Use sunscreen, sunblock, keep scars covered. My method of scar removal is a lot cheaper and a lot more effective than a lot of the expensive methods - it's also not loaded in chemicals that you cannot pronounce and have no idea whether or not they are damaging something in your body.

Why do my self harm scars hurt?

i have a history of self harm and i used to cut my wrists and arms and stuff and its months later and the pales were i used to cut hurt but there inset anything there barly even a scar anymore. My wrist still hurts tho is it like from trauma or something in my imagination or something??? Can someone please explain the reasoning for this to me please!

Should I be ashamed of my self-harm scars?

I self harmed for a summer. I am ashamed that I got to a point where I felt so alone and unloved that I thought I would be able to manage that pain through hurting myself.I am no longer ashamed of my scars. I am proud that I don’t have wounds anymore, just scars. I am proud that I cried and poured my heart out to a therapist instead of feeling that pain by slicing my skin with a razor blade.Never be ashamed of your scars, because you were strong enough to turn the wounds into scars. I am not going to lie, if your scars are visible there are ignorant people who may make a comment about it but you have to use the strength you had in you to quit cutting to ignore them.I don’t know you, but I want you to know I care about anyone who is reading this, whether you are self harming, used to self harm, or consider self harming. ❤️

How can I make day old self harm scars go away?

From what I understand these are not yet in the scar stage but the wound stage? Well this is in fact the best moment to minimize what will be left in your skin afterwards.I would first of all suggest cleaning the cuts according to first aid recommendations, water, soap, maybe a bit of iodine or neosporin. Then leave them alone, I've seen simple cuts and burns turn into surgical procedures from trying home remedies to heal them, don't use Vaseline or ground coffee, or xyz remedy your grandmothers friends daughter recommended. Just follow Red Cross procedure for first aid and leave it alone. Then, when you get to the scab stage (and this is very important) don't pick it!! Scabs are itchy, they look gross and you might discover that by removing it you get smooth(ish) skin in your arm, but that's going to leave a noticeable scar. Instead try something like cicaderm cream on the scab, it helps with the itchiness and with reducing what will be visible of your wound once it's all healed up. Remember not to pick it!!!After some time the scab will fall ( how long, depends on the depth of the cut) then you are left with a scar. Make sure it never sees the sun, since it would alter its color and make it more visible, use micropore or bandaids to cover or just apply spf 50 sun cream directly on it (only once the scab is gone). Massage it regularly to stimulate blood flow and flatten the skin (this helps if you are prone to keloids) and try a cream like contractubex or kelokote (if these brands names are not available where you live, you can google them and find out the commercial name in your country) if these are not available then you can try essential oils, creams and grandma’s friend’s daughter’s treatment; by now the wound is closed and the risk for infection is gone plus your skin acts as a barrier. I have personally found a cream with arnica to be very helpful ( it was given to me by a tattoo artist to use as after ink, the little jar he gave me has lasted something like 6 years and it works really well). It will look irritated and scar like for a while (weeks or months depending on your body and the depth of the cut) but it will fade with time, keep on massaging it and keep it away from sunlight for good.
