What dj software does Avicii use?

Most professional DJ’s don’t use software like Serato for live sets. They usually prepare their tracks and then load it into a usb/CD and then plug it into CDJ’s.CDJ’s are much more reliable compared to Laptop-contoller-Serato setups.Personally I have been a victim of software crashes and laptop freezes right in the middle of sets for no apparent reason. However using Serato + Laptop + controller is so much more affordable than a pair of CDJ’s and a Mixer, and such crashes are a rarity. Even with a back up controller, your setup is going to be much more affordable than CDJ’s.In the past Avicii was a fan of :Now most DJ’s stick to DJM 900 and CDJ 2000’sYou can see his studio setup here :http://equipboard.com/pros/aviciiUpdating my answer based on the detailed comment from Mr.Ross Anderson:Most festival and house DJs operate off CDJ set ups. But most DJs are some version of open format, and many more use Serato/Traktor/Rekordbox than not because they need quick access to a broad library. Big name producers are generally playing a re-planned set, or a set with small amounts of variation that allow them to operate differently than the rest of us.Ross’s point is very valid. Big Name producers like hardwell, avicii always play a preplanned set of songs from a curated list, and their sessions don’t last more than 1–2 hours. On the other hand real dj’s who DJ for a living, often need to play music for 4–8 hours, which is a herculean task. For regular mobile DJ’s a solid DJ contoller with a good laptop is all you need to get your investment back!

Which software programs do DJs use to make house music?

Hi,It's called Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). It is basically a computer program designed for editing, recording, mixing and mastering files (digital audio). You can record your various instruments and controllers, lay down the tracks, rearrange, splice, cut, paste, add effects, and finalize the song you’ve got cooking for the world to hear. Professional, semi-pro and home studios mainly use DAWs as their backbone for making music. Here's a list of music production software (DAW) that most of DJs [of different level] use to make music:Ableton LiveFruity LoopsLogic ProPro ToolsReasonGaragebandAcidCubaseReaperStudio OneBut if all you want is a little more control than iTunes or VLC provides and you don’t want to spend any money you might want to try one of these:1). Mixxx (Mac, Windows & Linux)2). Virtual DJ home/LE (Mac & Windows)3). Cross DJ free (Mac & Windows)Happy Dj-ing!

What DAW does Kanye use?

As Emily has answered - apparently he doesn't use a daw.Now just because HE doesn't use a digital audio workstation, doesn't mean the engineer tracking the sessions doesn't - I'm pretty sure Noah Goldstein uses pro tools?Noah Goldstein & Ché Pope of G.O.O.D. Music - Pensado's Place #272The term producer in the hip hop world is often used with a slightly different meaning. Not in a bad way. Quite the contrary. It's more like hip hop artists are called producers. Kanye is absolutely an artist and a producer. Studio producers will most always have a go to daw. I don't know of any current “big time” producers that still use tape exclusively… although I haven't done much research on it.You really can arrange/sequence out full songs with the use of a good keyboard and an MPC sampler - but I don't imagine any new songs from Kanye had the real instruments and vocals tracked with anything other than a daw to capture.Technically - he could maybe use an Adat or only tape to capture but that's getting out there for a theory.I don't know the answer but I imagine the standard (still) in most of the awesome studios Kanye tracks in would be using avid pro tools.Edit: as Errol West has pointed out, Steve Albini uses tape exclusively.

Can a website be considered to be software?

I don’t really.A website is a publication like a newspaper, magazine, newsletter or brochure. An active website with audio or video to me is more like TV or radio.Software is something that does something on your computer. Software is run by a script or EXE file. Your browser is software that loads your HTML file and displays it according to code. Look for EXE, DLL, JS and other extensions that tell you that it is an executable file that runs a process. It is limited to a specific operating system. Your browser had to be compiled to your Windows or Mac computer to work.Website files are sources if input for the code to run. HTML will work on any computer with browser software. You can open HTML as a text file with Notepad. Media files are open for either sound or video output. CSS files are supporting and linked style sheets. A PHP file is code embedded into a website do to actions based upon data and user input. It is classic text to graphical element interpret and display taught in programming courses.I think it is important to distinguish these things so that you know how to protect your computer or phone from threats. Older programs output to printer or on a network to other computers.I have written program code since first time in 1979.

What software would producers such as Metro Boomin, London on da Track, etc. use to create beats?

There isn’t one answer. The production of backing tracks is much more complex than you might think, and typically involves a number of pieces of software all working together. The primary application is the Digital Audio Workstation or DAW. This serves as the control center for most other applications, as well as being the software that actually records the tracks and “bounces” the final mix out to a consumable format (WAV, MP3, OGG, FLAC etc.) FL Studio is a popular DAW for loop-based music production, such as rap, hip-hop and electronic dance music, and Metro Boomin’ uses this specific suite himself. It’s based on a very popular loop sequencer, “Fruity Loops”, to which the developers added additional features to flesh it out as a full DAW. There are a host of other DAW suites all with different pedigrees and focuses; REAPER is a common choice for bedroom producers due to its expansive feature set and very attractive price ($60 for an individual home license; most DAWs sell for hundreds), with other common ones being Apple’s Logic Pro, Avid Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Propellerheads Reason, and Cakewalk SONAR.On top of that, you typically need a number of other applications to produce the sounds that get recorded. Two of the big classes of “add-ons” for beatmakers are synthesizers and samplers.Samplers allow the producer to record (or use recordings of) small pieces of audio, such as single notes played by a real instrument or words sung by the vocal talent, and play them in sequence, using a keyboard or “drawing” the melody or chords. Native Instruments has a virtual monopoly on this kind of software, between its Kontakt application typically used for keyboard-based “virtual instruments”, and the Maschine pad-based sampler used for a variety of “slice-and-dice” mix styles and a popular platform for drum synths.Synthesizers are very old but very ubiquitous music tech. True to their name, they “synthesize” a waveform from scratch using a variety of analog and digital circuitry. They come in hardware, software and hybrid varieties, and mimic everything from pianos to drums to other synthesizers. Price again varies widely; Synth1 is free to download but can be hard to find, up to TI Virus hardware synths retailing in the thousands, plus vintage synthesizers that will sell for whatever will convince the current owner to part with it.

How do I make beats like Kanye West?

I would start by picking a DAW (FL Studio, Logic Pro, Ableton Live) to work with. It's the most inexpensive option than going with a hardware sampler, like an Akai MPC (sampling purists would go this route, and it's $$$). Like the other answer mentioned, FL might be your best bet in getting started. The other thing you'll need are samples or any old records you'd want to sample. You can find 70s and 80s disco, funk, rock, breaks and soul samples on iTunes if you don't already have vinyl (a turntable, a soundcard or audio interface with inputs for your turntable.) For production starters, just listen carefully to anything that sounds hot, any vocal that you could chop, change pitch, speed up or slow down. Also, any loops, rhythms, verses in a record, anything you could time stretch, add fx to and so on. Just get creative. For inspiration, you can check the production discographies of No ID, Swizz Beats, Kanye West, Rick Rubin, Mike Dean, Ski Beatz, Timbaland and DJ Premier for the artists they sampled.  Btw, all of these producers have been involved and heavily influenced Ye and Jay-Z's sound. If you would like to hear a track of mine where I sampled records, check for my songs 'So Satisfied' and 'I Used To'.
