Can you get financial aid if you owe child support?
There should be no reason why it should be touched due to owing child support as it is a government grant meant for school, not considered a income. Same if he was going through bankruptcy, that money is protected, or say he was on some type of assistance, that money is also protected. He can use some of it to pay child support, but they do not have the right to touch it. But the thing is, even if it could be touched, at least his debt will be paid on which will one way or another have to be paid back.

It's hard to handle things like this. I had a boss who was the same way. He also took credit for my work saying it was the "department's success" not just mine. Made me so mad. What I had to keep in mind, though, was that his actions reflected his inadequacies and his misconceptions - not my own. I was responsible for my actions alone. I could not take on everyone else's screwed up mind problems. The other thing that helped me was to remember something I learned from Jack Canfield (an audio tape I listened to). He asked a person in the audience if he had green hair. The man responded "No." Well, of course he didn't have green hair. Jack said, "So, if I yell at you and say that you're stupid and you have green hair, what will be your response?" The man said, "I don't have green hair." The point is that when we know something for certain about ourselves, no one can get us to alter our beliefs. It is only when someone says something that makes us question ourselves that we feel hurt. If you don't have green hair, then you KNOW you don't have green hair. If you know the tales are not true, then they aren't true. Ignore them and do your job. You know the truth.

Hi,Try contacting the students financial aid office in the University. They have protocols and what to do to obtain financial aid. In this office the aid is in the form of scholarships. And each scholarship have different areas they take care of financing. For example you can get a scholarship for tuition fees but not hostel accommodation fees. Also the number of students who are granted the scholarship are very small. Say 5 every year. You have to write and exam and interview for some. You first have to be a student of the university first. You are not eligible to any aid if you have not gained admission in the university.There is also the option of students loan. That one doesn’t have any rigorous protocol like that of the scholarships. Also, you have to be a student first. Any student of the university of Ghana is eligible to take a student loan. So here you have to ask yourself if you can pay back the loan after school. This, I think, should largely depend on the course you want to pursue in schoool. If it’s a course that you feel you can get ready employment, like nursing, medicine then sure id day go for it. But if it’s a non professional course that can’t guarantee ready employment after school. Then you’d have to think again.
