What To Do About My Job

How do I quit my job at Macy's?

I started working for Macy's a little over a month ago. I am a recovery and I find the job really stressful and gives you all kinds of hours.

I'm a full time high school senior, I take extra classes and I also volunteer at a hospital 3 hours a day for 3 days a week. When I was hired, they said it would be a minimum of 15 hours a week and it wouldn'texceed 30 hours a week, on my work permit (for school) they asked for my maximum amount of hours to be 25. Since I started, they always gave me 32-38 hours and I honestly can't handle that.

I've been getting really sick lately and was diagnosed with Pneumonia on Christmas and in the past 3 weeks, this would be my 9th day calling in sick because I'm still really contagious. I had what I thought was a cold, which was really an ear infection, then I had a strep throat, which led to the flu, which led to Pneumonia. I have NEVER been this sick before until I started working at Macy's.

What should you do if you hate your job?

A lot of my friends are in companies that they don't want to be in, have a routine that they hate and are frustrated almost three times a week that why are they stuck. When I try to reason with them and tell them to quit their job and try for a better job or startup, it doesn't work, because I get the following answersI need to gain more experience here then I will quitIf I leave so early it will put a bad impression on my resumeYou got lucky, doesn't mean I willI don't have any contacts, don't know where to startApparently the approach of asking them to leave never worked but there had to be another way. Because when someone gets trapped in the circle of their excuses it's difficult for them to get out unless someone else shows them a unique way, mine was this.I told them "Don't quit your job, just give 10 interviews."What does that mean?Instead of telling them to quit, I told them just check out ten companies you would like to work at, mail them, tweet to them or check out their careers page and give an interview with them. That's it, no big deal, only ten interviews. And give the interviews like you have nothing to lose. One of my friends got a double package offer in the second interview he gave, one in the first she gave. They both quit their jobs.Just give ten interviews in the next 4-6 weeks, that's it, no big deal.BTW we, at Flatchat, are hiring :)

Why do I hate my job and my career and what to do about it?

Given the situation --ask yourself what is the BEST that I can do right now with the situation that I am with what I have?   Having a job IS important and has you have said there is little chance for another job at this point!  There are many Spiritual Laws that are important here in this situation: The First one is: Spiritual Law that says  "in all things give thanks" it does not say in all good things give thanks it says in ALL things give thanks.....it's about having an attitude of gratitude and when you truly do ....miraculous things can happen. There is another Spiritual Law that says to be faithful in the small things and greater things will be given.   And there is yet a third law that says:  To him that hath and says that he has, more will be given. To him that has and says that he has not, more will be taken away.        The energy that you are spending hating your job is useless and sets you up to make you think you are victim.  In your free time do things to move you forward with your own goals--and before long you will find yourself finding positive solutions to your dilemma. What Do I have to do to Quit My Job at Chic-Fil-A?

Thanks for all the replies! I don't have another job per se, but I probably will soon. I'm an equestrian and have decided a job at a farm or stables is worth a shot. I plan on making a career out of horses anyway. I have emailed some people who are looking for help on their farms.

Is it really not a big deal just to call and say, "Hey, I'm leaving Chic-Fil-A. I've found someplace else" and that be it? My parents really think I should do the two week notice thing. They say it's the "Right thing" to do, but I am honestly so unhappy being there at all that it's not an attractive option.

I try to help my coworkers constantly, I'm very nice, I do what I'm told, but I'm still treated like a grub. I honestly feel like the biggest pariah on the planet when I'm at work. One of my managers hates me, I know it. NOTHING I do is right. I catch people giving me dirty looks constantly and I can't figure out why. Oh well. You can't please everybody.

I m 17. Have a job. Have hobbies... but don t know what to do with my life?

Hi. As the question states. I m 17. I have a great job for my age working after school making 9.50 an hour. My grades are alright, I play guitar and skateboard. But lately I ve been so stuck in my head as to what I m going to do after the High school years. I ve considered being an English teacher, but no matter how much I tell myself that is what I want... I can t hold onto it forever. It comes and goes. And I m also not one for studying and school in general. I m a B and C student currently. I just don t know how to figure out what I want. I ve say down so many times to think but when I think I have an idea... Something else comes up or I just change my mind after a week or 2. Any advice on what to do here would greatly help. I don t want to stay at my Job forever until full time. I d be making 13 an hour... I want more but with something I can enjoy.

How do I quit my job at Burger King?

Hi, I ve been working at this establishment for about 4 months. It s been... Okay, for the most part, but then I started feeling stressed, because I am a student in highschool. The job was originally supposed to be a summer job, but I enjoyed working and earning money but then everything started to pile on me, I just wanna know how I should quit? (This is my first job) don t get me wrong, the staff is good, but I just think I m not in the right moment to work, (though, I wish to work in the future, when I m able to.) What is a good way to quit? Do I talk to my manager or just leave a note? What do I do?
