What To Do For A Fanfiction

How do I join a forum on FanFiction.Net?

You don't actually join a forum. You can post a reply on a forum but you can't actually become a member of it.

To post in a forum go to the author's profile page. At the top here will be a 'my forums' link. Click on it. On the next page, if the author as a lot of interests, there will be a blueish box displaying the different forums they have. Click on the one you like. On the next page will be another blueish box displaying a list of topics within the forum. These are threads. Click on the one you like. Read through all the comments. When you come across one you want to comment on click on 'reply.' It's a blue link in the lower right corner. From there you will go to a screen that has a box to type your reply in. What you are replying to is in a box at the bottom of the screen. There are options to adjust the text above the textbox. Below the textbox on the left is a button that says 'preview.' It has an eye in it. On the right there is a 'post reply' box. You're done! It takes about 5 minutes for the reply to show up on the screen.

How do I delete my story on fanfiction.net?

Here's a forum thread I found that may help.

You can't "recall" them, all you can do is either delete them or replace them with the rewritten story.

If you want to delete and re-upload completely, log in and scroll down the control panel until you find "Remove Story." Click on it, highlight the story you want to delete, and then click the "Remove Story" button. A few confirmation requests, and you're done. Be aware, however, that that will delete any reviews that story's gotten, so if you want to save them, do so before you delete. Then just upload the new version like you would any new story.

How do I see who is following me on Fanfiction.net?

I've had a fanfiction.net account for over a year and a half, but I just started writing fanfictions. So how do I see who is following my account/ favorited me?

Also, don't tell me my email. I don't want to individually count the emails- plus they went in my junk mail anyways.

How do I write a good fanfiction story?

First, you have to have love in your heart when you write fanfic. Fanfic is for yourself first, so you must love your own story. Don't write for popularity, hits, reviews, kudos, comments, or status in the fandom. Write your story to connect to other fans who feel as you do about the canon. Writing a fanfic without love is pointless. You can write fics that aren't romance and still have them come from the love you have for the character or world. If you're new to fanfic, I recommend starting with a short work, such as a "one shot" short story of about 2,000 words. If it is shorter than that it might not be good. My first shared online fanfic is short, but it got me a mention on tvtropes.org ten years later.Second, slow down. Hot-off-the-presses prose will always have errors, because when we are excited, we make errors. I recommend waiting at least 1 day after you finish a one-shot or chapter. Then read it aloud to yourself. Read it on another device or from a printed copy, or at least change your font and line spacing. If you have a beta reader, great! But be your own copyeditor first.Spelling and grammar do matter. Think of your story as your main character going out on a date. The character wants to look great. Writers have to remember that what's in our heads is not always on the page. Don't rush your story, or you'll miss out on all the really good parts.Third, try to write the whole story before you share it. This isn't the most important thing, but good fanfic often has this trait. If you can't write your whole multi-chapter fic before sharing, at least plot the whole thing out so you know your ending. And lastly, always try to improve. Don't be afraid to rewrite whole chapters if you become a better writer as the story goes on. Your first chapters are your first impression. Now, if you want to know how to write a fanfic that is popular, that's a different question, but it starts from this answer.~butterflydreaming

How do I make a fanfiction on fanfiction.net in iPhone?

I write Fanfiction on my iPhone, so relax :)

First, you should decide where exactly you want to publish your Fanfiction. I suggest Fanfiction.net. It is the biggest archive and I've seen hundreds of great fanfictions out there. You should really check it out.
http://m.fanfiction.net/

Then, make an account.

NOW, here's the tricky (sort of) part.
Usually if you locate Fanfiction net with your iPhone, it will go straight to the mobile version. Don't. Go to the bottom of the page and make it desktop version.

After that, click your account name on the right hand corner and it will send you to your account setting.

Go to Publish and there will be new story and doc manager. You can select new story to introduce your story, e.g summary, genre etc. But eventually you will have to download the chapters to doc manager to actually publish them.

If you go to the doc manager, there will be a copy&paste option. Click that, and write to your heart's content on the box below! When you're done, name it and submit it. Remember, you have to do it one chapter at a time!

One you introduced your story and wrote some chapters, you can go to manage stories and update them.

Once you get used to it, it's fairly simple. Hope I helped!!
