What To Do For Acne In Wintertime

Does winter make your skin lighter?

well, not really... its not that it lightens your skin. the harsh conditions of winter tend dry out skin and make it flaky or ashy... so this lighter colour may just be dry skin
use a good moisturizer at night [u can even rub vaselilne intensive care on bad areas] and during the day wear a lighter [but still effeective] moisturizer with spf 15 in there...

[i know it might sound weird to be using spf15 moisturizer, but even during winter you can have skin damage. also, some of the chemicals in spf moisturizers help to lock in moisture]

What is the best moisturizer for acne prone skin during winter?

Winters take a toll on our skin. The most affected part of the body is the face. The onslaught of the winds, cold temperatures, harsh sun rays and imbalanced pH make the skin appear dull, dark and dry during winters. These are very common winter skin problems that women struggle with.choosing moisturizer depends upon your skin type, your weather condition, your exposure to sun , your working lifestyle.Finding the kind of moisturizer that best suits your particular skin type is essential to balancing the complexion and reducing signs of premature aging.Best moisturizerTo help counteract the loss of water, moisturizing creams for tend to have a higher oil, wax and water content. These ingredients create an occlusive layer on the skin that replaces water and helps retain it.A heavier cream may feel too sticky and heavy on those with normal/combination skin.Sensitive skin is characterized by excess sebum on the surface of the skin, which is the major factor and lead to clogged pores and eventually acne. It is a myth that those with oily skin do not need to use a moisturizer. It is possible for one to have oily dehydrated skin. In fact, skin may be over-producing oils.basically oil can also be used as moisturizer , one of the best that I have come across is jojoba oil. yes! it’s actually an effective skin moisturizer and healer on its own.Apply four to six drops in the morning and at night before bed.Jojoba oil moisturizes our skin and prevents irritations, or scaly and rough patches. Dry skin is caused by a loss of water in the upper layer of the skin. Jojoba oil works by forming an oily layer on the top of the skin that traps water in the skin. It works on your face, neck, hands, feet and hair; you can use it anywhere on your body because it’s completely natural and contains no chemicals that lead to an allergic reaction.Jojoba oil removes sticky buildup or excess oil, too; it keeps your oil levels balanced. That makes it a strong natural treatment for eczema as well as acne solution, plus well suited for other dry-skin conditions. So it is one of best moisteriser for sensitive skin.Use it and see resultpamper your skin and take care:)

How do I get rid of sweating in winter?

Hyperhydrosis also known as excessive sweating is one of the common reasons to bother you specially if you are a tropical resident. Sweating is generally used as a technique to pump out excess heat produced from our body and to make a heat equilibrium. But sometimes other reasons may trigger sweating. In winter season the air is cold and the amount of water vapor is less causing more and more water to leak out from our body specially from relatively hot places of our body like arm pit, covered palm or foot. This is on the other hand is exaggerated by other physiological reasons like excessive sweat glands located in certain areas, sympathatomimic drugs, hypoglycemia, hypoxia and hyperthyroidism. If there is an excessive sweating my any of these reasons in the winter seasons the first thing you need to do is to be clean. Specially hyperhydrosis in the foot can make the bacteria to accumulate causing stinky and infectious. Also using a moisturizer on the places will help you to fill the sweating pores. Also you can use antiperspirants like aluminum chloride hexahydrate, but before use please refer to your endocrinologist of physician.Over and out

Why my skin gets tanned in winter and fairer in summer?

Firstly, I am not aware of your skin type(whether it's oily or dry or combination skin) based on which there could be a better explaination. However, the most generic reason as to why your skin gets darker in winter is because of the excessive skin drying(drying means increase of dead skin cells) that occurs during winter. This drying will make skin look lifeless and dull and it appears to be darker(which you are assuming as tanned). Winter sun is dangerous too if you go out without applying a decent body lotion with an spf 20-30.In winters, you can use Nivea Body lotion(preferably cell repair) it will help maintain your skin's suppleness and you can apply Neutrogena Sheer touch Sun block sunscreen during both winter and summer to protect your skin from the sun if you are going out somewhere on a holiday. On the contrary, why your skin seems to "look" fairer in summer than in winter maybe because the humidity of the summer atmosphere softens the skin and does not strip the skin of its natural moisture.  The mositure makes the skin look nourished and supple which in turn contributes to your normal skin color.Hope this helps!Cheers!

My face is always very pink. It isn't rocessia. What can I use to tone down the redness?

Me too! My cheeks and chin get extremely red in the wintertime, and the only thing I have found effective so far has been the Eucerin Redness Relief line.

You can buy a whole kit with cleanser, lotions, spot treatment, etc., but I have found that using just the "Daily Perfecting Lotion" alone is enough for me.

Dry skin after shower?

I have sensitive skin and in the winter time, just brushing something against my face turns it red and blotchy. Well with winter now upon us, I'm getting very dry skin. When I get out of the shower, my face is very dry, tight, flaky and blotchy. I've tried different lotions but it only makes my skin wet but dry if that makes any sense. About 10 minutes later my skin is dry again. Does anyone know any really good moisturizers that'll help with this?
