Weeds and Dexter are great. Dexter is not really a comedy though but it is an excellent show. Watch it on Showtime if possible, I don't see how it will translate well onto CBS... 30 Rock, Arrested Development, and Curb Your Enthusiasm are excellent as well.

Currently screening? Then I'd give a special mention to an Australian comedy called Utopia.It's currently on netflix in the USA where it's been re-titled "Dreamland"Utopia/Dreamland focuses on the fictional Nation Building Authority, an organization charged with building major projects in Australia. The organization is led by people with vision who have to deal with political masters who only care about election cycles, office staff who get caught up in the details of office life and a Media Manager who thinks the projects launch party is more important than the project itself. It's a sharp satire of office politics and red tape and how easy it is to become focused on the minor details and not the big picture. The show is written by veterans of Australian television and features a cast of some of the sharpest comedic actors in the country.The second season was even better than the first and it bears repeat watchings to pick up on the details that might get missed the first time. There are some Australian references but nothing that would prevent anyone from another country enjoying it. (David Durham and Marcus Geduld if you have Netflix I think you'd both really enjoy this)

I don't think any TV series can take place of FRIENDS. But there are some TV series that are quite funny. I am only gonna mention those which I have watched and found funny.1.the big bang theoryIt certainly one of the most funny ongoing TV series. You are gonna laugh on many scientific jokes,even if you don't understand. But it start loosing its core somewhere after the entry of Amy. But still great show to watch.2. How I met your motherAs you liked friends,you certainly gonna love this show. One of the best work of NPH as Barney Stinson.3. The officeThis show is in a form of mockumentary. One of the must watch if you like comedy shows. I will recommend you to stick to the show as you may not find first season much funnier. As First season only has 6 episodes.4. Arrested developmentIt's literally a family show . It revolves around Bluthe family. Every character has its own story. The show originally have only 3 seasons after that Netflix restarted the show with 2 more seasons. One of the must watch. You can skip 4th season.5. SeinfeldGreatest of all time. It was a huge hit on its time. The show is little old but you will still find it funny. I think the best actor is George, Krammer is little over sometimes and it can be easily seen that Jerry is not a actor but still some his job very well.6. Rick and MortyAnimated,but one of the best comedy shows ever. It's not for kids though. I am sure you can't stop watching once you start. It only has 3 seasons. Glee is absolutely funny. All about high school underdogs in glee club. How about 30 Rock? Tina Fey created the show and with her on it plus Alec Baldwin, it's quite nonsensical at times. I'm also liking The Big Bang Theory. The protagonists are a bunch of nerds and a not-so-bright girl the two nerds have as aneighbor.

If you have Netflix workaholics is my favorite tv show it's better then that 70s show but it has about the same idea like funny people who get high and avoid work I don't know if they'll make another season on tv but it has a lot of episodes on Netflix just watch the first episode you'll love it
Why do so many tv shows make fun of adam west?
i ALWAYS see shows that are making fun of adam west. when i was younger i used to see things making fun of him being like a crazy cat guy on the show fairly odd parents. now they run episodes of family guy making fun of him. whyy?? does he have some fascination with felines or something? ....is he crazy? haha

When we're watching funny movies or tv shows, how come we laugh when watching with others but rarely actually laugh out loud when watching alone even if the jokes are just as funny?
This we can't generalize. There are people who enjoy watching movies alone always. Coming to the point, 1.It depends on the mood of the individual. It depends on whether the person is feeling lonely or comfortable. Even when in a group, if he/she is mentally feeling alone, they won't really enjoy the movie.Else if they are in good mood, they will enjoy in any case.2.Depends on the people you are watching with. If its your dearest friends, you will enjoy more.If they are a little unknown, you will just watch. Whether you feel restricted or open is the matter there.3.Depends on the purpose you are watching. If you are in a fun mood you will obviously enjoy. If you had a bad day and you need a diversion, however funny the movie may be you will need time to really divert and enjoy the movie.Sometimes slightest things also seem to a matter and you react and sometimes even for a big thing your reaction will be like "SO WHAT?" depending on the factors i mentioned above.
