What Type Of Fine Art Cource Should I Do To Become Abstract Artist

Can a person become a professional artist without going to an art school? If yes, what should one do to become an artist on his own? What type of books and other stuff does one need to study for drawing and painting?

Of course one can be a professional artist without going to art school, assuming you have all the skills to create works of art. What you will need apart from equipment to draw is a good business plan and commercial skills to sell your art. The graphic industry is not the best payed job environment. You need to find out what it requires to pay the monthly bills and put food on the table. How are you going to promote yourself online, with exhibitions and customer contacts. Are you willing to listen and find solutions with your customer and let them decide what art works to create? Create a portfolio of your works that can prove to a customer they can get exactly what they need. This is basically the first lessons I got in art school before the first lessons on drawing. My teacher calculated exactly what he earned and how much he had to work for that every month (with was “low” for the first part, and “much” for the second part compared to my job as software engineer). We didn’t learn much drawing itself (it was assumed you could draw) but more on using professional tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign. How you use cameras and scanners. How to tell/write stories with images. Art history. You can learn drawing by doing it a lot (I mean hours each day). Visit model drawing sessions. Do urban sketching. Study the old masters. One doesn’t learn how to draw by reading a book or watching a video. It is like learning to run the marathon by reading a book. That is time wasted you could draw more.

Why do I hate abstract art?

The same reason I dont like photo realism. We all enjoy different things.

Do you respect artists and art as a career?

Okay, I'm really curious to see what the general population thinks of art and the people who make it.

Do you consider art a legitimate career choice or do you think all those artists out there need to get real jobs?

Do you like art, or look upon it as pointless.

You've heard of "starving artists," right? Do you think that it's fair for artists to be starving, or do you think that artists sould make a lot of money for their art...why?

How would you feel if your kid decided to become an artist?

Are you involved with the arts in any way?

Please, tell me anything that comes to mind when you think of artists and their art- the more in-depth you are the better, but short answers are fine, too.

Many thanks. I look forward to your answers, Answers.

Why are abstract paintings are sold at very high price? What makes them so costly?

Artist hate to hear this but the truth is that for many, fine art is a commodity. To keep it simple let me say that there are people who love art (abstract or realistic), and there are people who do not care about it, having said that, IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU REALLY UNDERSTAND IT, many art lovers do not understand the art but they just love it. Example: Many of us may not understand the genre or technicality of Symphony, Opera, or Indian classical, or western classical, you may not know that some music is Raag Asavari, or Jog, but you love it and buy the records and play in your drawing room. Now, as far as the cost of painting is concern, it is a specialist market with it's own dynamics, just like equity market. The paintings of celebrity/legends are considered as investments. Many art buyers do not understand it AT ALL, the tycoons and billionaires often buy art as an investment, many corporate too buy art as investment, with the age, reputation, and fame of an artist the price of all his works keep on growing up-words. Many collectors invest on new budding artist's works, if they see a spark in them, they know that today he is selling a piece of an abstract for few hundred, the same work will add few zeros when he becomes a big name. This is absolutely unique in itself. There is no other commodity in the world that grows this way, including real estate. Also a tiny factor is that every art is unique in the universe, remember if you buy an original abstract painting, no matter if it is by a new -unknown artist, it is unique and you are the only owner of it in the world, and therefore you pay some premium for it.1) It is a real language, understood by very few. Artist or curators can easily tell the difference between a piece of art and just an amateur attempt of creating an art under the umbrella of Abstract.2) Therefore if it is a real work of art, it will get a good price for it's uniqueness, and for the unique personality of the artist as well, but it can get millions if the artist becomes celebrity.3) It is a business for many, with the unique dynamics of it's own. Like a currency, art as a business is valid and legitimate world wide.4) You do not have to understand art in order to enjoy it, the shapes, forms and hues can ignite all sorts of human feelings, from sensuality to sorrow. and comic to sex.
