If you could start a band what would you call it, what type of music would they play, and what instrument would you play in it?
Interesting question, since I’m actually considering this right now. The current ‘working name’ is “The Retreads” . . . since the concept is to collect some good OLD musicians (yeah . . . I’m old . . . 67) . . . & given that age group . . . we’d all be ‘retreads’ . . . having been in other bands at some point in our lives. As far as the type of music . . . the plan is ‘rock covers’ . . . from what are considered “oldies” to “classic rock” to some current stuff. As far as instrument? . . . well . . . since I’ve been a bass player since 1964 . . . that’s pretty much decided [laughing].
What type of music do you listen to?
I listen to a lot of music, it’s basically the only form of media I consume. As a result, I listen to a wide variety of music.Power/Progressive/Symphonic/Thrash Metal - I used to think Metal was all shouting, but then I found about these genres, and now I mainly listen to these subgenres of music. I like these subgenres of Metal for the sheer energy, clean vocals, and lack of generic Verse-Chorus-Verse-Chorus structure.Some songs from the genre I like:Pop Punk - I’ve always been into pop punk, but I only really started to get into it during the month of July. I mostly listen to Pop Punk with my other friends who listen to pop, and when I am in an “edgy” mood. I like a whole bunch of bands, but my favorites from this genre are Panic! at the Disco, Set it Off, and Billy Talent.Some songs from the genre I like:Rap - Although I don’t listen to Rap often, I do enjoy certain artists quite a bit. I like quite a bit of rap. On the serious side of things, I like artists such as Eminem (I know, very cliché. In my opinion, Eminem is an artist that I believe is popular and not overrated.), Logic, Aesop Rock and Kendrick Lamar. All of these rap artists have meaningful lyrics which contribute to my enjoyment of them. On the opposite spectrum, I listen to rappers such as Froggy Fresh, Tech N9ne, and certain Pokemon Rappers (I used to be a huge pokemon nerd). These rappers don’t have the most meaningful lyrics, but I like the humor.Some songs from the genre I like:(The first 6 minutes are just backstory, feel free to skip it)Avante-Garde Music - Avante-Garde music is very experimental and weird, and they aren’t afraid to be very different from regular music. It’s really weird, but good. I've listen to almost ever genre i can think of, and I like them all. From rap to Rock. From classic to Death metal. From folk to rave. From techno to contry. rom forgien to.. well you see my point. Theres got to be a word for it, and im curios of what that word is. >.< so i ask again, What is it called if you like all music genres?

Factually it would be called a composition. Or an instrumental.Other ways to describe: a melody, tune, song, ….I'm a musician. The good kind lol. So I'm gathering this was philosophical.My more existential answer would be a wordless song isa much better way to communicate to someone what song reminds you of them.I have songs I dedicate not the lyrics but the melody
