What Were The Factors That Led To The Clean Air Act And What Was Its Impetus

Why is environmental protection important?

I am worried about global warming, species extinction, deforestation and other forms of threat that man is posing to enviroment leading to its degradation. All this worry is not because I am a great lover of nature but as I am a lover of human race. The more we exploit and degrade our environment, the more ecological imbalance we create; ultimately putting the very human existence at risk- after all the world runs with competition, co-operation and co-existence.Every species is dependent on every other species for survival, be directly or indirectly. Human beings are the ones who depend on maximum number of species for not only his survival but also for his development needs. Threat to ecology means a direct threat to human race due to man induced natural disaster caused by ecological imbalance and environmental degradation for which we cannot forgive ourselves. So, I have a concern for our ecosystem and environment being a selfish human myself and this is why environmental protection is the need of the hour too.

Why do nuclear explosions form characteristic "mushroom clouds", with a stem and cap topped with roiling smoke? As opposed to, for example, a dome.

The blast would, in free space, spread out as a sphere. But if it explodes near the ground, the half that would go down, cannot actually do so. So it is reflected upwards to make the stalk of the mushroom. If you look round the foot of the mushroom, you will see the the upwards half of the sphere, but because it has the room to spread out it doesn’t grow so large. So a large part of the energy is reflected upwards. An since it is, of course, very hot, it also wants to rise. But eventually the air thins and it loses its upward impetus, and begins to spread out sideways, making the cap of the mushroom.

Are there political parties outside the US that are climate change deniers like the Republicans?

A new study have found that “many of the right-wing nationalist parties in Europe now have climate change denial as one of their most important issues.”Climate change denial strongly linked to right-wing nationalism"These parties are increasing in significance. We see it in Denmark and Norway, in Britain with UKIP, and Front National in France. But also, in Sweden, with the Sweden Democrats' suspicion towards SMHI (Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute), their dismissal of the Paris Agreement and of climate laws, and in their appraisal of climate change denier Václav Klaus as a freedom-fighting hero," he says. Hultman also mentions the Trump administration in the USA as a prime example.Right-wing nationalism's links to climate change denial are a relatively unresearched topic, but Environmental Sociology recently published an article where Hultman and his research colleagues show the connections between conservatism, xenophobia, and climate change denial.https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/...An earlier study found similar results in the US:"It’s not surprising that high-profile deniers are almost exclusively conservative white men, since they have most benefited from the industrial capitalist system, and therefore have the most skin in the game when it comes to protecting the powers that be — even if they aren’t those powers."[...] “conservative white males are likely to favour protection of the current industrial capitalist order which has historically served them well”. It added that “heightened emotional and psychic investment in defending in-group claims may translate into misperceived understanding about problems like climate change that threaten the continued order of the system.”Highlights► Conservative white males are more likely than other Americans to report climate change denial. ► Conservative white males who self-report understanding global warming very well are even more likely. ► Climate change denial is an example of identity-protective cognition. ► System-justifying tendencies lead to climate change denial. ► Climate change denial increased from 2001 to 2010.Cool dudes: The denial of climate change among conservative white males in the United StatesRoger Fjellstad Olsen's answer to Why is opposition to climate science more common in the United States than other countries?

What is the mood across the world regarding climate change?

There’s no real impetus to act. Politicians keep claiming renewables are cheaper than coal, then demanding more tax money for subsidies. Don’t you think this seems dishonest? Nobody needed subsidies to build new coal plants. The solution to this dilemma of course is renewables have a fatal flaw. Peak power demand is around 6pm, when the wind is dying and the sun is setting. Nobody has figured out an affordable way to timeshift an entire grid worth of electricity from midday (peak renewable production) to 6pm (peak demand). So the subsidies make renewables viable by letting them undercut fossil guels at midday. Fossil fuel plants respond to lost business by putting their prices up. Since renewables can’t deliver at 6pm, everyone has to buy at least some fossil fuel power, so the price hikes slam power bills.Normally price hikes would stimulate building more electricity generators, but nobody wants to build fossil fuel generators right now, in case they get slammed with carbon taxes. So the incumbents have a captive market.I don’t think most people understand exactly what is happening, but they know something is wrong.

Are we heading towards World War III?

How likely is the WWIII? I don’t know . But I know how will WWIII will be. You may remember that WWII ended with Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing. I suggest one should read the destruction caused by atom bombs. Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki - Wikipedia .Now I will explain some maths . Hiroshima atom bomb was 15 Kiloton and Nagasaki was 21 kiloton. Those small bombs killed million and effect is still visible. The biggest nuclear bomb tested by Russia was Tsar which was 50,000KT.50000/15=3333.33 times destructive than Hiroshima and 2381 times more powerful than Nagasaki. Now have a look on world stockpile -Russia-7000US-6800France-300China-260UK-215Pakistan-130India-120Isreal-80North Korea<15Total - 14920Lets do analysis of Russia only ,if out of 7000 only 10% are like Tsar Russia can impact destruction 2,33,3100 times more than Hiroshima. I guess total cities in world will be less than this number. So on a rough estimate only Russia can destroy whole world twice same is the case with US. If a common man like me can do this calculation people in govt administration can do a precise calculation and before starting WWIII all govt of the world will consider this .
