What Will Be Written On The Tombstone Of The Usa

What would you like written on your tombstone?

Lawdy. Am I allowed to have an image on THAT? Or will my tombstone be collapsed by the Quora mods? A cemetery full of former Quorans, some of them with perfectly straight tombstones, and some with tombstones leaning drunkenly, or lying face down in the dirt, crushing the flowers underneath.I’ve always liked Johnny Carson’s pick: I’ll be back in a few minutes! Or something like that.Maybe: I’m not really down here. I’m at your house, drinking your beer and reading your comic books. And then you’d go home, and find empty beer bottles and thumbed-through comics. I might arrange this with some company. They’d know when the person was visiting my grave, go to their house, mess it up, and drink the beer. This is a possible small business opportunity for someone. Let me know if you like it. Send the royalties to my family.More likely, I’d choose something that was MUCH too long, or didn’t answer the question properly of who I really was, and since the carvers charge by the letter or something, I’d drive my family into bankruptcy. Or the tombstone would be twenty feet high.Upvotes accepted via dandelions planted underneath. It had BETTER not give my weight as a final joke on the part of my hubby: This diet is the one that worked! So let’s go with: She finally shut up.

What will the United States' "Tombstone" say?

I think we are past the threshold for collapse.  We're too big to fail.  We are so big that we can generate a solution to every problem.  We are 50 states with economies the size of many or most countries.  That is our strength.  Society has become technological and that implies a higher degree of interdependence among citizens and other countries.  We simply can't go back.I believe we will press forward into space and there will be colonies that become part of the U.S.  They will bring vast cheap resources to the economy.  The lower cost of resources will translate into higher income per capita and more dependence on social equality.  Human creativity creating uses for cheap resources will be what we value.  There will always be stragglers but we can afford them. All we gotta do is put one foot in front of the other and make it to the future.  There is as close to a utopia as we can get waiting in sight.

What is usually written on a Tombstone?

Reflection of the Person
# Tombstone epitaphs give us an opportunity to summarize a person's life through a quote, statement or description. Some people have mottoes they carry with them through life or a quote that perfectly represents how they want to live life. Others have a favorite author who may have written a profound, existential quote that would be appropriate for a tombstone. It helps to think about the person's individual accomplishments and personality traits when writing his tombstone. If he was a religious man, you can choose a reflective quote from his favorite scripture. Write a quote or passage that captures who he was and how he would want to be remembered.
Accomplishments and Personal Messages
# Instead of a quote, you may want to write a short description of the person. If he was a firefighter or doctor, you can mention how he lived to save the lives of others. It is always appropriate to mention the significance of the person as a beloved family member. Was she a devoted mother, caring sister, and steadfast daughter? As a general message for a loved one, you can write that she was loved by everyone who knew her and that she will live on in the hearts and memories of future generations. End the message by telling the deceased that you will miss him, or conclude with "rest peacefully."
Classic Epitaphs
# If you can't think of a quote, message or description that perfectly symbolizes the deceased person, you can use a classic epitaph. There are a number of timeless quotes commonly written on tombstones that embody the emotion of losing a loved one. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote, "What seem to us but dim funeral tapers may be heaven's distant lamps" and "Dust though art, to dust returnest, was not spoken of the soul." John Milton wrote, "Death is the golden key that opens the palace of Eternity." Thomas Moore wrote, "Yet in this heart's most sacred place, thou, alone, shall dwell forever." Herman Melville wrote, "Life's a voyage that's homeward bound." W.S. Abbott wrote, "Beyond is the infinite morning of a day without tomorrow." Thoughtful words of great authors can perfectly encompass the emotions you want to express on a tombstone

What goes on a Tombstone? What is an Epitaph?

Usually tombstones contain a person's full name and dates of their birth and death. It can also have an Epitaph with is a statement about the person. It can be something like generic like "loving wife and mother" or it could be a quote personally i like this one.

I am ready to meet my Maker.
Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.

Who will win in a fight between Captain America and Tombstone?

Tombstone was one of Spider-Man’s greatest challenges to date, simply because it was so difficult for Spidey to knock him down. Tombstone's body is highly resistant to physical injury and is capable of withstanding extreme temperatures, great impact forces, high caliber bullets, electrocution, and toxic gases without sustaining injury. Spider-Man actually damaged his hand punching Tombstone, while he remained unfazed; something not many villains can claim. It also means that Captain America is even less likely to be able to hurt Tombstone. In addition to his durability, he possesses the physical strength sufficient to punch through concrete walls or the roof of an armoured car. Prior to gaining his super powers he was already an excellent street fighter capable of killing someone with his bare hands. He now combines these skills with his super strength to produce a unique fighting style. Here he is pushing Luke Cage through a wall.Despite his peak human attributes, I just don’t see Cap withstanding that level of punishment. Of course, it would depend on Tombstone being able to actually hit him. Cap is very agile, after all. The thing is that as well as Tombstone’s strength and durability, his reflexes, speed, and stamina are likewise heightened beyond a range attainable for normal human beings. For instance; despite Spider-Man’s sixth sense, superior reflexes, and incredible agility, Tombstone is able to tag him time…….……and time……….. again. So there’s no reason to believe he couldn’t likewise hit Captain America repeatedly. He is also highly proficient with conventional firearms, adept at mind-games and manipulation, uses his environment effectively, and is well connected in the underworld of organized crime.Seriously- outside of a comic book, there’s no way Cap should be able to win this. He has an edge in experience and of course the shield, but I just don’t think that’s enough.

What do you want your tombstone to say in three words?

A headstone quote or headstone saying inscribed on a memorial, called an epitaph, serves as an everlasting tribute to a departed loved one.Advice on choosing an epitaph1) “Less is more” – epitaphs are usually short and concise. Even if you use the whole reverse of a headstone, you will be limited to a few lines. They are a chance to sum up a person’s life in just a few words, to give it shape and express real emotion.2) Epitaphs often convey a strong feeling. However, the best epitaphs are timeless and not overly sentimental, and for this reason, I always advise waiting at least a year before choosing so that emotions have time to settle and you don’t later regret your choice.3) Often, someone is speaking in the first person (a relative, a friend; the deceased). You might want to think about whose voice you want this to be.4) Consider whether you want the epitaphs to speak directly to someone. This may be a passerby or the loved one themselves.

Glowing Tombstone in Springtown, Texas?

Veal Station Cemetery

It is said that there is a glowing tombstone there. It came on the news one night and they reported about the glowing tombstone and the ghost of a woman walking around her grave. Update: the cemetery is chained off at night now because of so many people going there.

NEW: The second sighting that I've seen with my own two eyes is the glowing tombstone. Veal Station Cemetery is located off of Veal Station Road, approximately three miles south of Springtown on FM 51. Every one in Springtown has heard about the glowing tombstone, so once again, curiosity has gotten the best of me. A friend of mine, his girlfriend, and I all went out to the cemetery pretty much every night for a week and finally we found it. I don't know what kind of lighting conditions are required because sometimes when the moon is out you can see it, and other times when the sky's cloudy you can see it. The spooky part about the glowing tombstone is that once you get closer to it, it quits glowing. There's a cedar tree close to where the glowing tombstone is and we lined the tombstone up from the roadway directly under a low-lying branch and cut a straight path through the cemetery to where the glowing tombstone is. Of course it's hard to know for sure since it quits glowing by the time you get twenty feet from it, but I'm almost positive that we tracked the right one. There's a tombstone for a two year old infant that I believe is the glowing tombstone. Just FYI for anyone that likes cemeteries, there's some really interesting ones around Springtown. There's one on Goshen Road that runs behind the high school that has some graves that on the headstones they read about a couple that were killed during an Indian raid and their two young daughters were carried off by Indians and their fate is unknown.
