What Will Happen If I Am A Year Older Than The Age Limit In Comp

I turn 50 this year. Am I too old to pursue a career in computer programming?

You are only too old if you’ve decided that you are.I decided to become a programmer in 2012 at the age of 42. I set myself a 5 year goal to do this - really only because I lacked any frame of reference to know how long it would take.It seemed as if it would be nigh impossible ; however at the end of the first year I had shipped my first mobile game and by the end of the second year I had shipped 3 more games and was hired as an Associate Java Software engineer. As you can imagine I fully dedicated myself to it. No Netflix. No TV. No videogames. The only activities I permitted myself were:A) Keep my family/work commitments fully.B) All personal time spent on my goal. When I say “all personal time” I mean exactly that. I had a PDF programming book on my tablet and would read it on my breaks at work. I had podcasts on programming I would listen to in my car while commuting.I would do self paced learning through college level books I had bought on amazon in the free time I had at home and quickly things started clicking.I also set myself a goal of making a small mobile game. I think this was an incredibly important component of what lead to success because everything I read/learned I listened to it with intense interest of how I was going to solve the problem of completing my mobile application. You might take an entirely different approach and succeed. You might also take the same approach and fail.I sincerely think you can do it; but the biggest thing you have to do is believe in yourself and start on your journey. You have to decide you are going to do it. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can not do it. That’s not for them to decide. You set and pursue your goals and you are the only one that sets the limits. And with that I leave you this quote:The best time for planting a tree was ten years ago. The next best is today.

Maximum age limit for female's competing in the olympic figure skating?

In skating history, Maria Butyrskaya won her last European title at the age of 29. That was, I believe, an incredible achievement for a woman. Shen Xue, 2010 Olympic Gold medalist with husband Shao Hongbo, is another incredible female skater, winning the Olympics at 32 years of age. Lyudmila Belousova, born 1935, 2-time Olympic champion 1964&68 with husband Oleg Protopopov, still skates on occasion. And is the same weight as when she competed. She was 33 when they won the Innsbruck '68 Olympics. These women are the exceptions, but as the French would say -- that proves the rule -- as a rule female skaters do not last that long, for many reasons, not the least of them to have babies, which Lyudmila did not do, as she and her husband dedicated their lives to their figure skating.

What is the difference between a modeling comp card and a portfolio?

Do not get these before you get an agency. Anything that you do on your own will not help you get an agency. Also, once you are signed, the agency will make you redo these their way.

To get an agency, you need regular snapshots (from a digital camera is fine) and a friendly personality at the open call. That's it. No posing, no make up, no fancy clothes.

What are the definitions of the terms?

Portfolio - usually a leather bound book of your photos. 8 x 10 or larger is the standard size for the photos. These should be from actual jobs where you got paid, not photoshoots you paid for. It's like a model's resume.

Comp Card - A model's business card. One side has your best photos. The other has your stats and agency's name.

County football vs Pop Warner. Which league do you believe will better prepare your child for the next level?

as a former county and pop warner coach i would say county is better. Pop Warner has too many weight restrictions and a lot of the kids are playing out of position so they are not exactly being prepared for the game at it's purest level. What i'm saying is in PW all the kids are basically the same size so they aren't being prepared to play with or against other kids bigger and smaller than them. A kid that could be playing a skilled position in county or open weight football would more then likely be playing on the line in PW. So that child isn't being trained and prepared for a position they would be playing at the high school level. I once took one of my teams that had been playing in an open weight league, that they had a lot of success in, and split them into a couple teams to play in PW cause of the weight rules and they completely destroyed every PW team they played in the league. They never got any competition until they got deep into the national PW tournament, which is at the end of the season. Now there are several things i like about PW but for the kids sake i prefer open weight leagues or county ball better for training and comp. Plus there are plenty of open weight national tournaments to enter as well.

I need advice please. . . I have a karate competition tommorow and i am freaking out.?

It is a good thing to be nervous before a fight because it lets you know your human. Best thing to do is relax and don't stress out over little things like them being bigger or older because that has nothing to do with skills. Another thing is it has nothing to do with being a girl. I did the same when i was in competition and I'm a guy. You should be proud you are skilled enough to spar against black belts. Just take deep breaths before the match and relax. Just remember it's just mind over matter.
