What will happen if you refuse to sign the military draft document?
So I've heard that when each U.S individual turns 18, they must sign a paper that states they give permission to be drafted into the military if an emergency draft would happen to take place. I'm almost 18 and i would like to know what will happen when i don't sign that document. I do not want to fight for something i do not believe in, an injustice country (my opinion). So what would be the result of me refusing to sign the draft papers? I would like a heads up on what is coming my way. Also, if you could, tell me more about this draft. And i mean no disrespect towards any of the men and women of the military. Please give respectful and responsible answers

Why would they have a draft? They are doing CUTBACKS in the military, meaning people getting discharged even though they want to stay in. In order to have a draft there would need to be a World War and an Act of Congress passed. There was war in Iraq and Afghanistan and guess what NO DRAFT.

Moot point..............THERE IS NO DRAFT........... And it's not coming back................... And might I add that it so refreshing to see the youth of today are so willing to serve their country................Whiny assbags all.............

There won’t be a military draft any time soon but there sure as hell should be.Most Americans don’t care that our country is currently fighting our longest war. Why should they? Roughly one percent of Americans have fought or are fighting in this war. That means 99% of Americans aren’t involved.There is currently a slow spilling of our soldiers blood. Usually fewer than ten soldiers are killed at a time and few of us pay attention unless our family members are the ones being killed or wounded.The Army is having difficulty having new soldiers enlist. Many existing soldiers have served seven or eight tours in war. This is obscene.Young men and women should be drafted. Most wont be in the infantry .All Americans should have ‘skin in the game’ when it comes to war. Let Congress debate wars and have the majority of us behind the decision to send our loved ones into harms way.The current war against terrorism will never end. American soldiers were recently killed in Africa. How many Americans know why our militaty is IN Africa?Young people now volunteer for the military.It’s not fair to ask them to die for us , however, while the rest of us go about out our lives.Maybe if we had a draft, there would be fewer wars. Maybe we could learn how to fight terrorism in a new and smarter way.That would be a good thing.
