If it's someplace she can lick, then just wash it off the spot with a wash cloth and some Dawn dish soap. It's reasonably safe, and if she takes a lick or two the worst that will probably happen is she'll foam at the mouth because it tastes so bad. Advantage is a poison, true, but it's safe for most cats, and sure better than what fleas can do to them - tapeworm, flea bite anemia, flea bite dermatitis, and just plain being itchy and miserable.
